It just seemed so foreign to me because I didn’t have any special skills and I am just a normal guy. Then i saw a video from a guy on TIkTok, where a person was talking about digital marketing and how he makes 100k a month selling digital products that he didn’t even create. I thought to myself… That sounds so convenient and all I need to do is learn HOW he did it. I’ve been thinking this myself, after finding out my boss makes over $30 an hour every time I work one hour. With the government funding she gets for my work, I could go to work for clients and charge the same amount she does and I would get the whole lot! I’m on to it. I love my job and love the older people I help out…being paid fairly for my time and effort would make me happier, that’s for sure. I’m struggling, like everyone…so why not give it a go? Sooo, you decided that instead of a guaranteed pay, while someone else takes the risk... you were going to take the risk. Knowing full well the risk being, forced to work until the day you die, having zero benefit from working and accepting 100% responsibility for EVERYTHING... meaning you are responsible for your vendors, contractees and anyone you employ... Sorry, just the loss of potential safety nets, like Unemployment and Workman's Compensation are enough that the revenue and life of the venture needs to be guaranteed. And, for the record, you are not "trading" 40+ hours to make some else rich, they are being made rich by investing in employees to generate revenue. This is why wages are legally called Compensation..
And newsflash... you get ZERO paid days off, when not working for an employer... there is no such thing as "Vacations", when you are not an employee. Time away from work means ZERO revenue generation. You can take time off, but it cost you the amount of money you would generate while away... or you have to generate income WHILE away... meaning you are still working.
I would gladly take running my own show making 100-200k a year i over working at a big time employer. Unemployment doenst pay good at all like half your wages(which if your a low skill wage slave) wouldnt be much at all. Ill take making my own money over that any day of the week.
