I just bought the Swan version of this and it is identical, just in time for the second Lockdown of 2020. After some research I have found out that changing the oil is a pig, it does not flow easily from the fryer. It goes everywhere. The easiest method is to use a pump. Hand or powered. Used of course once the oil is room temperature. Also contrary to the instructions, you can use solid fat such as Lard because this fryer does not have an immersive heating element. I have been using it for a few days. It's also healthier than vegetable oil . When it comes to cleaning the Lard just let it solidify and using a wooden spoon scoop it out. The viewing window does not steam up if you put some oil on it first. I think the weakest part of this machine is the handle. The retractable part that releases the arm from the basket so it folds down looks like it would break if the basket was overloaded and not by very much either. Still, it does what I'd expect from a cheap fryer and takes up little real estate on the counter-top. It is uncanny that twice now Graham has bought and reviewed a product I was thinking of buying, thanks Boss.
If you want to get the visual glass clear instead of fogging up before you start it get a little bit of oil on a paper towel and just wipe it in the underside of the glass that usually stops it misting and steaming up
Thats true. Terrible for cleaning and the oil tray is extremely difficult to remove. Also when making onion rings and its dropped into the hot oil..... it sinks to the bottom then cooks.... but the flour/batter STICKS to the bottom of the basket and needs prised free repeatedly. The deep fat fryer isn't deep enough hence the above issue.
It depends what you are frying, when we fry fish and chips it does smell like a chip shop for a while, we put the deep fat fryer under the cooker hood fan and that helps.

If you read the instructions it says "smear the window with oil to avoid misting up"
Green light you was spot on, saw light at back as it was faintly showing 👍🏼
Can.i use vegetable oil.i no sunflower oil
How do you empty the oil?
Have same one, complete rubbish! Try to use it for longer and then clean it, easier just to trow in the bin snd buy another one!

Thanks Graham another helpful video. One question please. Does it stink out the kitchen?

can you leave the cover open whilst it is frying?
I have the exact same version and is it possible to remove the basket to clean its oil
I removed the basket once with great difficulty.... but cannot remove it basket again though. Its utter rubbish.
Thank you, very helpful!
I have recently got my self a deep fryer, it's a Quest. But I have mine in white, as you cannot beat some good deep fat fried chips.
