OMG Rosco! He’s so cute!!! Same here when Snoopy got his hair all groomed.. my husband almost didn’t recognize him... LOL... He more look like poodle now 🤣🤣🤣🤣

He looks very cute and without the mats will be a happier dog. His adult coat may come in more wavy/curly and less mats. We love our Maltipoos!

OH he looks precious. My Katy is 3.5 months old and has had a tiny trim to get her used to the groomer. I cant wait to get her trimmed up. I love the poodle look. Have a great day.
Roscoe is so cute !! When I got my Maisie she was 6 weeks old. As she grew, of course, her hair did, too. She had a lot of mats, which I tried to brush out. She ended with the same shaved do.
She goes to the groomer every 2 weeks to get bathed and 'trimmed up, Then every 6-8 weeks a full groom,
Rosco goes to the groomer regularly now too. We all learn from our mistakes :)
He looks so different but once his hair grows back it’ll be softer and not as curly, at least that’s how it was for my lulu

It seems that Roscoe likes the haircut. It makes him look more active instead of a little ragamuffin. My Maltese is getting to look like a little ragamuffin, but she's only 20 weeks old. Rosco is definitely a handsome little boy.
I'm sure he felt happy to run without the weight of all that hair! :)
I ended up with my mother's after her passing. The one thing I learned very quickly is the shorter the better. As long as he is covered and there is no bald spots it is good enough. No more than a out an inch long.

Adorable! We rescued our multiple a couple of years ago. He also needs a haircut. He's scheduled for groomer on 3/3/21. He will look just like Rosco.

your two videos have been so helpful. I was in the same situation, and first groom appt. the groomer had to shave my little shaggy baby. I HATED it! So I've been trying to keep her groomed myself. She missed her last 6 week grooming appointment, so i went to someone else who cut her face like a poodle. It was awful lol. Now she is growing out again, a full month out from her next appointment and I'm trying to use the comb, but it is a battle and she's matting like crazy. I've taken to cutting chunks of mats out of her fur. Thanks for the brush recommendation. I really don't want to shave her again, but now I know, thanks to your video, what tools to have on hand to keep things in control. so thanks!
He looks like a Florida dog. It's so hot here, most of the year our dogs were shaved because of the heat. ♥️
That's so funny! We often tease Rosco for not wanting to play outside when it's over 80 degrees :) He's not used to hot weather!
Dey got me at 8 months, I was not in the best home. SUPERR MATED!! I’m gonna get shaved, then once I grow it back they will brush me regularly, just like normal

He looks sweet, cute and comfortable. These dogs are really hard to keep up long hair on, especially if they go outside a lot to play.
Snowy got his haircut by the groomer for the 1st time he was also same as rosco... He looks so funny too when he get out from the shop...

This is so funny because I just got my maltipoo groomed for the first time last week too! He’s adorable like always but I can’t wait for some more cute shag to grow back!

Have you heard of a thing called RUclips? There are loads of videos people post on RUclips where people show how to prevent an address hair situations like your animal may be having. An also videos people have posted where they demonstrate how they have cut dogs hair too. You should check it out.

Your groomers did a great job. I also have a maltipoo pup and recently had to take him in because he was also a little matted. They had to shave him, but I honestly feel like they took too much hair off his head. They at least managed to keep the fur on yours !! He’s too cute!! I can’t wait til my Bennys’ curls/fur grows back in. I think he’s feeling insecure 😭
Thankfully Maltipoos' hair grows pretty fast. After a month Rosco's hair was back to a good length :)

Hi Julia, we just got our maltipoo shaved too! I REALLY MISS HIS OLD FUR 😭. So just wondering, how long did it take for Rosco to have his some of his fur back?

Dogs with that kind of fur need to be brushed either every day or every 2nd day because they do mat easily. Did you know that mats hurt dogs? That because the mats pull on the dog's skin; imagine something pulling the hair on your arm continuously - it's not pleasant. If he gets a mat that you can't brush out, cut the mat out to prevent any pain it may be causing.
It's best to start grooming the dog when he is a puppy after he's had some exercise and it tired to he doesn't resist. Not only does he get used to it but also learns to loves it. Another reason to groom your puppy every day is that it's a great bonding experience. Enjoy your cute Rosco.
Thanks for the tips! After that experience we’ve put more effort into brushing him daily and when he gets mats we’ve found that cutting them opposed to brushing them works a lot better! 🙂

After this initial/extreme cut, are you now grooming him yourself (besides the regular brushing). Or are you continuing to take him to the groomer? If you do take him to the groomer, how often do you take him?

Khaleesi, who looks just like Rosco, needs combing every day to avoid matting. Even then, it gets too long toward the end of the 6 week interval between groomings. Thank goodness she likes being groomed. But we have the same reaction when she comes back from a trip to the spa. She looks like a totally different dog. I should also point out that we keep her hair longer in the winter.
One other point. We use a shoulder-type harness on Khaleesi. Maltipoos have delicate tracheae and can injure themselves just pulling on a regular collar.

I'm not sure, but in just two weeks Rosco's hair has grown noticeably.
One very good reason too groome our dog every day. He doesn't love it som only my husband can do it 😀💜 but rosco looks sweet 😀💜

Hi...wow Rosco sure looks different!! I have my 10 week old pup now and we will be making a conscious effort to brush him daily.
Did u take Rosco out to potty at night every few hours. It is getting cold over here and I am wondering how we r going to do it.
Also I dont know how to train him well...this pup can't sit still and does not like the training bites I bought. What do u treat Rosco when u train him?

Can I ask how long it took his fur to grow back? We shaved our puppy maltipoo (5 months) because he got fleas and I was struggling to get a flea comb through his fur. But I'm sad missing his longer fur and just wondering🙂
Of course! It took about 2 months for it to be long enough for our liking :)
