    I like how you add the tab name to the footer so the invoice number shows up on the printed page. Also how you get the sheet name for the next invoice number with all these great formulas! Thanks for a great tutorial.

    • @excelisfun
      @excelisfun  6 лет назад

      It is funny, in a class like this I don't want to go to crazy with the formulas, so at the end when I was creating formula to extract Invoice Number I just did LEFT(cell,4), rather than using SEARCH to find where the ")" Right Parenthesis was... But if i did that logic, I should have just done LEFT(RIGHT(Cell,5),1) to start off with... Thanks for watching as always, Teammate : )

    • @LeilaGharani
      @LeilaGharani 6 лет назад

      It must have taken a lot of discipline not to go wild with formulas :) I like that you used the SEARCH first though - a lot of people don't know this function exists - also the REPLACE is a great one which a lot of people don't know about. I also like how you spit each step to separate ones. This way it doesn't look so complex.

    Hi Mike. I LOVED two things: 1) The mouse drag and drop. Up till now I used to to ALT+E+M, CTRL+C etc stuff. Using this short cut however does not increment the whole number contained in the sheet name. The mouse trick is therefore awesome. 2) Automating the invoice number. Only one thing. Here i believe; we can integrate (VALUE(LEFT(REPLACE(SEARCH)))) functions to bring the steps down.FANTASTIC AS USUAL.. keep it up..

    • @excelisfun
      @excelisfun  6 лет назад

      Glad there were some fun tricks for you!!! But are you saying use VALUE rather than +0?

    • @sachinrv1
      @sachinrv1 6 лет назад

      Yes; bcoz the VALUE function will change the format of the result (text formatted number) of the integrated functions to whole number.

    I've been watching all of your math and business videos trying to find out how to create a formula to reduce a value on the first of every month. I can't seem to figure it out. Is there a way to do this? Ie) 10,000 less 1,000 on the first of every month until you're at 0.

    Hello Sir, how are you? One question that has been cooking in my mind since last few days. Sir, don't you think Microsoft Excel should have two more functions like "FORMAT" and "FILTER" in its upcoming version "Microsoft Office 2019". "Filter" function already is in "Google Sheet". It allows someone to filter Data through function. And, "Format" function has versatile capabilities. It was not a long ago, when I found it trouble converting a date (for example: 14 March, 2018) to ordinal date (14th March, 2018). Besides this, if you want to convert any Cardinal number to ordinal number; Excel doesn't allow you to do so. That is where, "Format" function comes in handy. I'm just telling this to you, because you are the ""MVP" of Microsoft Company. And most important is, whatever I'm today, just for you. You are my master, my Learning Guru. Please inform it to Microsoft so that, these functions will take place in the next version of Microsoft Excel. And, send me your response about it.

      ExcelIsFun please Sir, inform about these two functions to Microsoft Company. We, the Excel lovers, want to see these two functions in next version of Excel (Microsoft Office 2019). Most of us usually prefer "one time purchase" version than Office 365, that requires monthly subscription. I, also don't have Office 365. I have Office 2016. That is why, I don't have these 6 new functions ("concat", "ifs", "maxifs", "minifs", "switch" and "textjoin"), added to the office 365 version. We want these 6 new functions along with those 2 functions ("filter" and "format") in "Microsoft Office 2019". Not only that, we also want all other functions, that came with "More Func" adds-in like "mrand", "nbtext" etc. We want Excel to become more and more powerful. Please, Sir inform it to Microsoft as soon as possible and suggest them to add these functions in the office 2019. Please, I earnestly request you.

      ExcelIsFun "spellnumber", "sort" are other functions that can be added to the next version of Microsoft Office. "Sort" will help us sorting numbers or words inside of formula. There are only few months left before Microsoft Office 2019 get released. Please Sir, do something, tell them ("Microsoft Company") to add these awesome Formulas in the next perpetual version of Excel ("Microsoft Office 2019"). I'm looking forward to your reply Sir.
