Incorrect, foreign investment laws block foreign companies from setting up in the Philippines and creating jobs. Only the oligarchs want to retain the constitution so they can keep their monopolies and keep competitors out! Then Filipinos miss out on cheaper and better services and products from foreign companies.

Seriously, I am still baffled by the logic and lack of common-sense of these supporters of the current constitution, I mean we are just talking about 3 sections in the Economic Provisions of the Constitution and we will still keep intact the Land Ownership and Natural Resources. Even Justice Azcuna, one of the framers of our constitution also agree that the Constitution should be amended on those areas. That's why Justice Davide and Mendoza discreetly conceded since they also pointed out the flaws of the current constitution in the terms of the ConAss and start lecturing on how our Congress should act as a ConAss to the point that Sen. Risa calls for a Point of Order to Suspend. Because the jigs is up, people want reform and people want jobs and the current constitution is already exploding to their faces as well.

To those who said that our constitution's economic provisions are restrictive, our constitutional experts suggested that congress can always pass legislations to overcome those restrictions.
Legislations can be repealed by lawmakers or deemed unconstitutional by Supreme Court if some lobbyist paid the right price. Take note, in our world corruption is part of the game, so you cannot claim that these politicians and judges are pure nor incorruptible. And no investor in their right minds will seriously invest in our country if 60% of their profits will go to the likes of MVP, Razon, Villar, Sy and Ayala

49:40 - Kudos to Justice Azcuna. Davide and Monsod should learn about being open minded on updating some of the Economic Provisions. It is true that some restrictions like Land Ownership and Natural Resources because Malaysia and similar countries that opened their economy had similar restrictions. In fact, the restriction part should go by legislation and not hard written on the constitution. In short, some of the Economic Provisions should be flexible. If that is the case then let's open the Utilities, Public Services and Advertisement. Since this core laws will help us to call on foreign investors that will help us on our infrastructures which will later entice more Foreign Investors to invest and provide jobs to our country that will also help our MSMEs. Because, right now, we need more stable jobs with better and realistic pay and benefits given the inflation that we always faced. And us OFWs are willing to go back home if these will be provided to us.

Justice Davide and Atty Monsod should guide us on how to amend the constitution for the Economic Provisions. Have they asked an OFW like me why we leave the country? No? Because they are not the ones who are looking for a secured employment with a better pay and benefits. They are not the ones who are running a small businesses that is being threatened of closing down since there are no customers? We are not going to do a Political Amendment here, so they should not worry on changing it. Because by the end the day, the constitution will change, like it or not, if not today then tomorrow. Even though, Sen. Risa Hontiveros has a good point on the red tape part, but then again she should create a bill that will trim the red tape. Because to be honest, no MNC in their right mind will invest that much on a country with so much red-tape and will only gain 40% of its ROI... And while you guys are at it, maybe Yellow Team can push for Health Amendments as well which will include free maintenance and free checkup for our seniors and minimum wage earners as long as they are Phil Health members.
Senator Pimentel is right. There must be a formal announcement to the people that the Senate is now performing its job as a constituent assembly, as serious as that Constitutional task is. The people must be informed in real time so they are able to vote of on it judiciously in the plebescite, if any. It cannot be done like in an ordinary legislative process. Amending or revising the Constitution is not just the task of Congress or a Constitutional Convention. The people must participate because they are ones who will ultimately approve it, and they are the ones who will benefit from the changes, or suffer from it.

I agree, a proper information drive about the Economic ChaCha is needed once the ConAss is done and just waiting for Plebiscite. This is the one that the FPDu30 admin missed out during his term. He has all the cards and support of the Senate to his call for Federalism but choosing Mocha Uson as his information spokesperson about it is the one that really killed that campaign and Covid-19 just the final nail on its coffin. At least the EdsaPwera ads made it to National TV and open up the curiosity of the many even though it is a bad publicity.
Changing the constitution is not solely the task of the Congress but with the participation of the people through Information drive and the provisions they would have to present to the people for approval through plebiscite. The bottom line is transparency.

It must be provided that the COMELEC will be charged on its wrong doing before a body independent from COMELEC control. Example of following questions: Ferdinand R. MARCOS, jr. Was charged of non- payment of TAXES of 203 billion and was allowed to run by the COMELEC. RODRIGO R. DUTERTE was allowed to run for PRESIDENT by the COMELEC although he filed in lieu of a MAYOR. PARTYLIST candidates provision must be scrapped. DYNASTY must be constitutionally provided itself in details.

I mean the change will be an Economic one, the political one will be left intact. So they should have an opened mind about it and guide us instead... I mean Cory is dead, PNoy is dead, Kris is sick and just want a peace of mind with her kids, So no Aquino from the line of the late Sen. Ninoy that they can used now. And most of the EDSA 1 key players are either dead or admit that the 1987 Constitution needs to be reviewed and modified. It is not an assurance. If such provisions had been written in our constitution, then some abusive local businessmen can no longer lobby to overturn such law or similar amendments. And on your own words, you are protecting the very same people like Villar, MVP, SM and Ayala who are exploiting us.
