    THOSE WHO WILL BE AFFECTED BY CHA-CHA SHOULD SACRIFICE FOR THE COMMON GOOD AND DISREGARD THEIR OWN SELF- INTEREST ,BUT INSTEAD CONSIDERS FOR THE SAKE OF ECONOMIC PROGRESS OF THE PH ECONOMY AND NOT FOR LONG- TERM POLITICAL AMBITION TO STAY FOREVER IN POWER POSITION IN POLITICS.

      @EckonOmyst-jv1ro 7 месяцев назад

      The self interest you mention is not of the common people but of politicians like you and your cohorts who wanted more control in the country. There is really no economic advantage by changing the Constitution. The Constitution is not the problem but the people manning the Government that are very unreliable and not trustworthy. They are masking chacha under the pretext of economic gain but it is more of a political gain. Dont lie to the people.
      Marcos Jr’s Cha-cha will only equate to the wanton plunder of our remaining land and natural resources. Instead of devoting our land and resources to the genuine development of domestic agriculture, economy, and industries, ChaCha will allow more foreign-owned extractive industries, logging, ecotourism, real estate projects, expansion of agro-corporation plantations, and other business operations intended for profit-making.
      Furthermore, 100 percent foreign ownership of land may also further drive the displacement and ejection of farmers and indigenous people.
      Land agents will rush into land grabbing, coercive land purchases, land banking, and land selling. This implies a broader displacement of farmers and indigenous people, imposition of higher land rents, further losses for farmers, cessation of farming activities, land conversion, and the dissolution of agricultural livelihoods.
      the proposed Charter Change will end jeopardizing food security and livelihood for Filipinos, leading to widespread hunger, loss of livelihoods, and increased poverty

      This is the example after Privatization occurs because of your so called economic freedom :
      Filipinos should brace for higher passenger service charges (PSC) of as much as 95 percent at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) when its management goes to the hands of a private group.
      The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), regulator of NAIA, is proposing a schedule of rate hikes for NAIA services in preparation for the impending turnover of airport operations to a private firm.
      A document seen by The STAR showed that the PSC for domestic travelers will almost double to P390, from P200, in the first year of the operations and maintenance under a private group.

      Atty. Monsod points out several key notes with regards to this issue. Manufacturing and other several industries can be owned 100% by foreign investors. FDI pledges never mentioned constitution as one of the issues for it to be materialized. It’s the investment climate and not the constitution.

      @@charlesm5390 Wrong, 60/40 is still a real barrier in virtually all industries and paid up capital requirements are too high. I know several investors who were turned off by the fact that they had to share a business with Filipinos. 5 at least in the past year! I had to open a company with my Filipino cousins just to open a resort, just to satisfy the stupid rules even though they are not part of my business. Foreigners don't want to share their business with random Filipinos who know nothing about their business and would have control over their company. You are repeating Monsod without actually being a foreign investor or dealing with them. People want full ownership in all industries not just a select few. Open the company to foreign competition and it will break the monopolies of the oligarchs who control the Philippines and keep it sheltered from the world in poverty. Only being open to foreigners can the Philippines be set free.

Time has come and gone and we have missed too much opportunities. We need to have a freer market so that we can fully utilize our freedoms most specially our freedom from poverty which affects 95% of all filipinos. For what will all other freedoms mean when our stomachs are aching and we cant provide for our families? All those who hate reform most specially those who hate reforms on the economic provisions of the Constitution hate CAPITIALISM and the FREE MARKET which in turn makes them enemies of FREEDOM and who are the enemies of the FREE MARKET? Get the bugs (tongressmen) out of the economic equation. If the constitution''s economic provision says "otherwise provided by law" you are giving self-serving bugs -the power to control though legislative introduction, that can be holisticaly taken or interpreted as FDI repellant, if not altogether; a pesticide by investors. In mining industry, Congress has been remiss in amplifying economic provisions of the constitution so that the vision of progress is paramount which is what "otherwise provided by law" really intended in those provisions. It sets in the constitution like a trap knowing the many protectionist if not self-serving acts of congress. Of course; foreign investors see a "clear and imminent danger" even if foreign ownership is constitutionally allowed. Any economic constitutional provision is aimed for the good of all players -not to those who make laws to their advantage. My humble autodiduct's opinion on the issue.

      The house solely in charge of any constitutional revision or amendment is defintely dangerous power-grab. Specially when it appears that the speaker, by means of re-allocating funds among congress members based on their loyalty to, and cooperation with him, has got a super-majority to be in lock-step with him
