The black and clear coat look phenomenal!
Thank you Kreg! I learned a lot and took notes. I was important to see you have issues too, and what you did to overcome them.
It looks great. Excellent technique. Thanks for sharing.
Really great tips, appreciate the time you spent to break it all down!
Great video, I learned something. That is why I watch this. Thank you.
That came out awesome! Especially for black. Thanks for sharing your technique.
Looks great my friend. Thanks for the video.
Great vid Kreg, I started with MCW clear but switched to ACME. After watching Matthew on MCV. And use the harder on the MCW enamel. Besides my goofs the combo works. One of the reasons was MCW jar lids welded and put in Tamiya jars which did also. But like you say what works for you. Thanks for a great lesson as always.
Awesome paint job, thanks for sharing.
Cool video! Thank you for the tutorial Kreg!👍
Beautiful paint!!! I agree with you as far as air brushes go. I have an Iwata Eclipse, GSI Procon P290, a GHAD-39 & a couple Amazon specials. Each have their purpose, by far the Iwata is my favorite😁
Mighty nice work brother. Nice paint work takes time and effort. Thanks for showing that to new modelers. Well done!
Thanks Gary, I get people asking about air pressures and paint questions figured I would add another paint video to the community.. Have a good one!
Nice work Kreg black is so hard to get right even in real life.
Man! That came out beautiful!! Thanks for sharing your work!
Very nice, That meetal flake reallys makes the black look great
Thanks, the metallic is not very noticable till you look at it in the right light, I like that about it.. Have a good one!
Impressed with how fast the stubborn roof blemishes disappeared when you switched to 2500.
I understand why you weren't aggressive early on those, but I think I learned some things about wet sanding here.
My F-Series pickups have all been black. It's definitely a tough paint to work with and get polish right.
After 28 years on the '96, I think I'm going to be forced to get a repaint, it's hazy now. It required using a clay bar to get it to shine the past 2 years, but I've gone too deep with it now.
Thanks Ray, the 2500 cut the time down quick, although I ended up with a burn through on the roof line, not too bad, the 5000 just didn't cut it for the mark on the roof, I knew I should have cleaned my paint booth out, I'm in need off new filters and get some spray back at times not pulling the fumes out good enough. These things happen, yes black can be a tough on to work with shows all the flaws. My dark blue Merc Capri needs a repaint, she's little thin also, hopefully one day... Have a good one Ray!
Beautiful color, I did one of my builds in that color 👍
Sweet lookin Cougar great vid always enjoy watchin you paint and finish😁🤩my 1st 1/1 69 Chevy11 had 20 coats of blk laq and i polished her in the dead of winter 4 six hours DAD was impressed 😅scooter d😎ps i want me a Cougar roar🤣
Amazing paint job. Black is so hard to spray, well for me, any color is hard to spray.
Awesome video, I am working on the '90 T-Bird which will be done also in Black ( 35th Anniv. colors.) Thanks so much for the info
Very nice!!
Looks cool.
Kreg, Let it dry real good,Sand your imperfections with 2000 grit and touch it up,then shoot your clear. Give that a try.
Always a pleasure watching your videos.
Was there a Susie bake oven? My girl cousins about 50 years ago would make me delicious treats in their easy bake oven, maybe they changed the name. 🤣
Damn good looking paint job. And you chose hardest color to get right. 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Thanks, black can be a challenge, my hate of it will show every flaw, I must have wiped it off five times in the end to take a picture lol
Thanks for the great information 😊
Thanks Jeff, she turned out pretty nice..
Painted lots of military. No prob.but got a few muscle cars I want to do .this is just what I needed thanks!
Hope it helps out Jeff, I am thinking about starting on my A10 soon after the big shows this fall, have not done military in years.. Will be a nice change, Have a good on Jeff!
Very nice. Thanks for sharing
Tanks Samuel, time to get the rest finished.. Have a good one!
❤
Meguiars Ultimate Compound works really well also
I have to give that a try, Meguiars is always a safe bet..
How do you get the polish out of the door lines ?
I find using the fuzzy side of the micro fiber towel works good, if it has dried and fights you, I will add a little more polish to the gaps and hit it with the towle till gone.
Kreg - Nice! What airbrush are you using?
Thanks Kevin, for the enamel colors I have an Iwata HP-3 Plus and for primer and lacquers I use a Point Zero, it's an Amazon special, but works good..
@@kregskorner8851 Thanks Kreg. I was wondering because you seemed to have a fairly wide spray pattern and the paint appeared to go on nice and wet.
The reason I ask - I'm in the process of applying MCW Lacquer using a similar airbrush (HP-CS with .3mm needle) because the colors I chose are only available from MCW in lacquer. I know it's off topic, but do you have any experience or advice with spraying MCW lacquer?
