I'm 53, from Kentucky and have been playing since I was 5. I heard AC/DC after kiss and said this is what I'm going to do. Then out of nowhere this crazy guitar solo came on the radio followed by You really got me and it was over. I've been playing in bands ever since. I've gotten to travel because of music open for Dokken. I owe an amazing life and tons of great stories to rock music. Rhodes, Van Halen and Lynch are the guys. Keep rock alive people.
Jeff your VH coverage is absolutely unbeatable - I had just started to play about a year before 1 came out, so I don’t have to tell you what EVH means to me - he’s the last hero I have, God rest his soul! Keep this very important work up! Happy Thanksgiving from the Ditto Marina area.
I love it that these stories are circulating now. The best ones, for me, are of KISS & VH....endlessly entertaining !! Personally ? My all time favorite band is Genesis- particularly the Gabriel era. But road stories involving playing chess, reading books or watching American television ?..... No legs there. So thank you for helping to remember the energy & fun that was rock 'n roll back then- keep 'em coming, chief !! 🚬😎👍
Great show again Jeff - I've looked at the Reelz RUclips channel I cannot see a full documentary on DLR / Van Halen other than a clip or two ?? am I looking in the wrong place ? So who's the next gust after Lori Tucker ? Rudy Leiren , Donn Landee ? . Excellent channel . Thanks for all the time you put into it. Hope you're enjoying Tone Chaser ?
The Pics are incredible! Never seen those before! 🤘 also where is the audio of that part of eruption at the start of this video? Never heard that version?
You interrupt your guests too much. Just when they are getting momentum, you interrupt to share a story about yourself. Then you come back, and they don't finish what they were talking about. Very disappointing.
A lot of these interviews we see where it appears there is interruption going on, more often than not it is a question of latency. There is a delay going on, so the natural sense of letting a person speak, or to begin speaking ourselves, the delay throws that natural sense of timing off. Aside from that, this dude is doing incredible work. Two hour interviews with how many is it now, maybe 50 people? All dedicated to Van Halen. So any criticism is really unwarranted and borders on disrespectful. If anything, everybody should be giving this man incredible praises every day. Because nobody else is doing it.
Long form is very popular. Many people enjoy detail and don’t prefer “sound bites” Joe Rogan is the most popular podcaster in the world and does 2-4hr deep dives. Pete Thorn and Rick Beato often do 1-2hr plus. All you gotta do is look at their subscribers and see how popular it is. I will always offer shorter content. “short stories” of interviews already exist here. You can’t please everyone unfortunately, but I do my very best. Thanks for your feedback and have a great day! Be sure to check out the next series of probley 10 videos all short and compact dives into Van Halen History!
I haven't really heard many inside AC/DC stories, especially Bon Scott era..enjoyed that.
I but three tickets to Van Halen ll 1979 June 6 at the Norfolk Arena in the heart of downtown Norfolk Virginia. One of the best rock concerts ever.
Sitting here a little after midnight listening to some great stuff about one of my other favorite bands, AC/DC. Love it!

i wonder if Compass Point in the Bahamas is kind of a way for Brits and Aussies to beat taxes like France was for The Stones.
So true, we know when a photo was taken.
I hope you’re archiving your interviews. These are some irreplaceable historical anecdotes…total gold!
Yes there are multiple copies, edited and raw just in case!

lighten up Rob... zoom is a pain for everyone. Just be thankful for the channel if you are actually a VH fan, right?
I agree. I don't want to hear from a fan, I want to hear from someone who knows what they are talking about. Less you and more her.
dont listen
