I am so glad that this interview of Mitchell Parish was captured. Hardly anything is in Wikipedia on his life. Stardust one of my favorite lyrics to listen to. Willie Nelson did a great version. Possibly you consider another version better.
I wouldn't say no to a nugget, but this is even better, it's pure gold. The humor, the repartee of both men, the anecdotes, I gulped and almost cried when Maestro Parish mentioned all those names who really made America great. And he was one of them, incredible listening to him sing "Star Dust". I, for one part, can't utter phrases like ''when nobody is nigh', 'happy as a baby boy', 'I never planned in my imagination' without thinking of Duke, King Cole, Big T, all the other great interpreters, and of Mitchell Parish, from whose imagination all those lines once sprang. Sometimes I wonder how it was possible that so much talent created so much in so little time. Thanks to people like Joe Franklin for caring and sharing! I miss him, but I feel lucky for having been around when interviews like this one were still possible. Priceless upload.
