Now imagine if this was a black college and the valedictorian wanted to give a speech that slavery wasn't all that bad or that black people are responsible for some atrocity to her people... that would not be okay. Google brought it up. "Resistance to Genocide Interdisciplinary Minor". It includes courses on the Shoah and on Native Americans among other things. You should be able to find it. Many nations and groups have experienced a genocide unfortunately.
This brief news cast is the only source of my information. The on- and off-campus organizations that wanted her removed as valedictorian were not listed - additionally, the valedictorian was not accused by those organizations of posting inflammatory opinions - her speech probably would have reflected her customary outlook - while I agree with USC protecting the public from violence, I question where the danger resides - from the objecting organizations? From the Moslem community? This year’s graduates are inheriting a world of hair-trigger confusion taken to the extreme - I’d like to hear from the USC School of International Relations - this is the area where diplomacy is needed -

the First Amendment only guarantees you the right to speak without Govt stopping you or arresting you. If you're giving a speech for an organization, that organization has a right to set limits on that speech. She has a lot of other ways to express those same view opinions, the University doesn't want her using this platform to rant about her political issues.
