I love that she did this. She’s been writing for years since Island Def Jam dropped her. A bulk of her music career was messed up because the label gave her style what she did musically to Beyoncé. For her third album, Columbia suppressed Amerie's promotion, not releasing it in the US until a year later after it was released overseas. Without promotion in the US, the album had failed domestically. They basically decided to end her career to focus on Beyonce. ---->>> more below........... Even before that, they tried to steal her debut song "why don't we fall in love" and give it to J Lo. She was only able to launch it bc she leaked it into radio and the label had no choice but to support it and her album.
