The main secret is to have shit load of luck during fight. The moment it was in the rocks it was only a matter of luck. All experience one has, can double the chance to get it out but its still very low chance compared to a factor of luck. Having said that, excellent video man, that was really intense !
Thanks bro happy to hear that you like the video. Regarding the fight I have to disagree - of course luck plays always a role but I have proven it multiple times that it works. 🤫 Fighting a fish technically is with this equipment the only choice! Try it 😉 Greetings and tight lines!
@@maxdocken Surely if you cannot stop the fish that goes to the rocks the only way is to open the spool or lighten the drag, like you did. But this only makes it much harder for fish to cut the line. The fish can still tangle your line around rocks if the bottom is very rough. Not to mention that this would result in a loss of other species like groupers. So yeah if you get big dentex on spinning gear , this approach is best. Still it is far from guaranteed catch... @@hldemi_fishing nothing is sure when fishing and it's about the skill of the angler to decide what to do in this specific situation. This is some top landbased fishing Max! I've been looking for a surf and rock rod but will be mainly using it in the surf, how much casting distance are you able to achieve with the pa90?
Brilliant fight, Max! That's the way to go with rock-runners. One tackle question if you don't mind. How do you find the balance of the PA90 with a 4000SW reel? I'm planning a similar combo for next year and the reel selection is a pain. Most people that I know with that rod are using the standard 4000(non-SW) from Shimano which weigh in the 250-280g range. Your TP is 355 I believe. Isn't it a tiiiny bit on the heavy side?

What a fish. And so satisfying to watch the whole fight. 💪🎣 We are on vacation in Greece (Chalkidiki) in about 3 weeks and I already bought and organized some fishing equipment. ;) Last time there I just caught tiny fish and a little octopus on fish pieces and bread, which was already exciting. Now we have a small kitchen in our hotel rooms and I would like to "upgrade" to some pan size fish. 😆 If it's OK, I would like to ask you for some advice regarding tackle and techniques. :) 1. What fishing line do you recommend? And do you use some meters of Fluo as leader because of rocks and fish teeth? 2. Is it recommended to use small wobblers or even pilkers as bait? I guess, the bait guidance is more quick and "twitchy"? 3. Do you have experience with static/ground fishing with shrimps, crabs, fish scraps? I own a pretty long travel rod and would like to give that type of fishing a try. Thanks in advance. I am really thankful for any help you could give. 🙏 Tight lines and greetings to Greece! 👋

Regarding hardbait fishing it's recommended to fish a spinning rod ~ 9 ft with a cw of 50-60g. 4000 size reel with PE 1,5 and lures like Duo Tide Minnow 175, casting jigs like Duo Drag Metal Cast and small jigs 30 - 40g like Owner Nagewaza Jigs.
