    That is a huge project 😳 I just harvested my celery and cleared the frozen cucumber vibes out of my kratky buckets. Guess I shouldn't have waited till it frosted here to do it. Thats a cold job in an unheated hoop house lol. Guess my buckets are coming inside to the bathroom for a scrub. I only have 25 so not a 2 week adventure like you're doing 😉 but the cucumbers/celery/ eggplant/ peppers and all the green leafy stuff we ate this summer made it so worthwhile.
    I also got my LED banks cleaned and will be getting them in and running with winter lettuce and boc choi. Hopefully no more aphids!

    for the hobbyist Hydroponic grower hospital grade bleach, not household grade, will work pretty good for the clean and flush.
    the difference here is household grade is just plain bleach with no added detergents while hospital grade does have detergents of some kind that works well.

    I’m so glad I found you! My church has built a greenhouse to grow food for our food pantry guests and is using the same type system you have though we are using a water trough with a sump pump which send the water through a filter which has a series of plastic rings with grooves on them but the algae growth and larger pieces of debris with can clog the filter to the point where water won’t flow to the plants. I have suggested to place a fine screen like pantyhose over the return to reduce the large debris however the stacked plastic rings in the guts of the filter are difficult to get clean. Do you have a good way to clean these plastic rings or is there a better filter we can use. I’m am grateful for anything advice you would share. Blessings to you and your family 🙏🏻☝️💜✝️

      Thanks for watching our videos. The timers helped dial in our nutrients for the plants. Just remember the setting may have to change as the days get longer and warmer. I found in the summer on a sunny day I have to increase the on time not the off time. Good luck!!

      @@HomegrownPassion thank you for letting me know this. We monitor our PH and PPM everyday and correct and add water as we need. Our problem is the plastic rings in the filter that stack and the water flows through gets dirty and stops the flow of water so we try to clean it often however we are loosing this battle and I was wondering if you have a certain way to clean your filter if you have the same problem. Thank you 🙏🏻☝️💜✝️

      I am half a world away from the USA and do not know by Devon has not appeared but other channels I watch have complained about the abuse they have received from anonymous trolls. These include threats physical or sexual abuse to you or your family members. Most of these comments are removed by either YT or the channel operators. So appreciate the channel has continued, the content has not changed.and Katie is doing a great job. regards

    I was wondering if you have ever thought of using Shaklee Basic H2...it's a biodegradable cleaner, a natural pesticide, and your plants will love it...you add it in to your nutrient solution and it will keep your system clean, kill and detour pests, and your plants will grow faster and healthier...
    You can spray it directly onto the plants as a pesticide... Because it is all natural and biodegradable it is great for organic farming... It is good for your animals too...it will keep the fleas and other pests off your animals... It makes a good shampoo for your animals... Not only is it safe for your plants and animals but it is safe for you and your family...
    I use it for everything; dishes, bathing, laundry, basic household cleaning (that's what Basic H stands for, is Basic Household... The 2 is the new and improved and more concentrated than the regular Basic H), I even use it to brush my teeth...
    Anyway, it's a good product and used regularly will keep your system clean...

    Besides cleaning and flushing the whole system, do you flush the water every so often? if so, how often?

      so we collect all runoff from the green house in 320-gallon totes and water our hay fields with them. this cleaning was watered on the hay as well. it is basically soap with hydrogen prioxcid. it killed aphides' we had on our Alaffa which was a unknown benefit.

    Is there any improvement to be made in the system in order to reduce or control the amount of algae and algae formation ? I have a very small (compare to your operation) aeroponic system and my main headache has always been algae formation.

    • @atomizer2665
      @atomizer2665 3 года назад

      keep the light out and ideally run high pressure aero which allows you to run a very small reservoir drain to waste. This ensures the entire irrigation side of the system remains perfectly clean as nothing ever comes back from the root chambers to contaminate it.

    • @juliendalbin7254
      @juliendalbin7254 3 года назад

      @@atomizer2665 I agree, the quintessence of good hydroponics is plenty light for the aerial part of the plant and plenty darkness for the root system of the plant, easy to say, very hard to achieve.

      The thing a lot of folks overlook is the light getting in via the netpot especially if you have hydroton in it. A circle of black and white panda film with a slit to the middle for the plant stem will keep most of it out

    how to provide nutrition to the plants? nitrogen=fish tank water and it's natural/organic, but for potassium, iron, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, sulfur, copper, zinc, boron, and molybdenum? how can I give them this nutrition naturally/organic?

    • @HomegrownPassion
      @HomegrownPassion  2 года назад

      Not sure. We consider the nutrients natural because they are mined mostly from the dead sea but I'm not sure how you would do it in an aqua system
