  • Hoocho walks us through how to clean a NFT hydroponic system and we get a surprise visit from the residents living in the system.
    The correct dilution for sterilising whilst cleaning with H202 is a 3% solution.
    When running H2O2 through the system the final numbers given I mistakenly moved the decimal place. The solution I ran through the system after cleaning would have been a 0.25% solution rather than a 2.5% solution.
    A stronger solution is better and will not do any harm after the reservoir change.
    Hoochos explores the worlds of Hydroponics, Aquaponics, Permaculture, Homesteading, Fermentation, Technology Vanlife and DIY Builds to look at the world through a larger lens that can incorporate the best of everything into a rich and rewarding lifestyle.
    Through self sufficiency we can reduce consumption and increase our hyperlocal household production.

    "If you don't form an attachment to the plants you are growing, can you even call yourself a gardener...." These gems are why I LOVE this channel!! Just this morning as I was fussing over some of my container tomatoes (since I am trying something new this year), I was giving myself permission because at least I didn't have to social distance. And then I watch this...thank you!!!

    OMG, that was hilarious to watch. I am trying to plan out a NFT system in a small vertical indoor space and every video I learn something new I need to take into account for my build, today was root length. Can't wait for more videos.

    Love your videos, man! I'm in the process of building a Hoocho-inspired NFT system right now. Puck system and stealth grow room elements. I'll send pics when it's done!

    Great videos ,may i ask,are you going to use or up grade to real NFT track, the lids remove , im asking because the round pipe was wiped with lead not tin ,not shore if they still do it ,Thanks mate

    • @Hoocho

      These are the same grade pvc pipes that I use to collect rain water in our tank. And they are rated for collecting drinking water. If there’s any lead in them I’ve got bigger problems than my hydroponic system.

    I'm growing hydroponically in 30 gal containers without pumps. Do you think occasion rain will ruin my pH and cause plants to die???

    • @Hoocho
      @Hoocho  4 года назад +1

      Rain water would only dilute your solution... unless it’s acid rain...

    Another great video, root porn and frogs ! Hoocho I got nft and puck system now working well, how old are the plants or size when you take from the small pucks to nft large ones ?

    • @Hoocho
      @Hoocho  4 года назад +1

      I usually just take move them over on a case by case basis. Depends on the plant type, environmental conditions etc.
      In an ideal world I would have the seedlings looking like this:

    Nice, are you sure about those h202 levels? I thought the bottle says 1-2 ml per 10 litres? I have the same stuff and burnt my leg on the weekend haha.
    Also I guess that answers my frog question from reddit haha.
