one thing about BP after nerf is that all calculations regarding the nerf seem to be done with max ranged. change full arma + anguish + pegasians to blessed d-hide/fury and the BP dps just tanks completely. bows with already high damage and accuracy aren't as heavily effected by the loss accuracy and a max hit or 2.
Im always curious about this kind of stuff. Every single calculation is always done with max gear and stats. Things start to drop off or outperform in the middle tier.

I didn't include DHCB because the enchanted bolts really change things up a lot and I think we can sum it up fairly in a comment. To give you a quick Tl;DR...DHCB generally better than Fbow/BP at dragons like Olm and Vorkath, but you need to leverage ruby bolts and you'll need a twisted buckler/dragon bolts to keep up when the HP is low. As for ACB, even in a max set-up, it's just worse then Fbow in all these locations. For example, using twisted buckler and ruby dragon bolts (e) at full HP Olm is still less DPS than Fbow with body/legs. 100% Use BP at shamans since you need the armour + shamans have low def.

Love the Bowfa, it aint a bis niche wep like the Tbow but it handles very well in almost any situation where ranged is applied. Very accurate, with armor is even more and more accurate and powerful. Great low cost (low cost comparing the change in damage vs the cost of a tbow) item to start wearing down those end game mobs

Tbow is best..DHCB is mostly better dps by a fair margin over the fbow while using ruby bolts anywhere from 50%-85% of the fight (take dragon rubys and buckler to get the most dps difference) but the fbow can take over earlier in the early range of this hp pool if your dhcb setup lacks dragons/buckler. By the last bit of the fight, You'll for sure need dragon bolts and the buckler to keep the dps basically equal.
Ye it's pretty good on slayer tasks, i kind of like using it when doing cannon tasks! Technically, the bow is stronger relatively speaking outside of slayer, since all ranged weapons get the slayer helm buff but you lose out the crystal helms buff (while other ranged items only lose arma helm).
Definitely better at mole than DH. With 99str 98att, I get 50-60 kills per hour at mole with dh depending on luck. At 98 range, I can get around 70 kills per hour with bowfa setup. I get a lot of kills with bow before mole even burrows because you can hit back to back 40's on it. With it's range, you can also attack it a few seconds sooner after burrowing than you can with DH, which means less stams are needed, so trips last longer. You also get a decent prayer bonus which extends trips.

Hey Andrew! at Kree, you'll probably more hits there but since you'll also be on task for Kree, you won't be using the helmet so the cost may actual be either cheaper or the same as bandos/sara . As for cox, I'm not too sure but since you generally only use ranged armour like half the raid + there aren't many things hitting you at once, I'd imagine you can squeeze in a few hours of raiding for every gauntlet you'll need to do. Also, once again, you may not bring crystal helm to raids depending on your preference, meaning the cost will once again be 1/3 cheaper. If I get some data on COX, I'll let you know!
Hey stealth. The graph always has the BIS weapon at the top (0%).. the next two weapons are placed on the graph displaying how much weaker then are over the BIS (-10%, -20%, etc). This is how I chose to visualize BIS and avoid plugging in specific dps numbers since those vary more based on setup.
Is it correct that the cox comparisons are assuming using crystal armor with all the weapons? Or is the bp and tbow calculated with armadyl? Would this make a significant difference? I don't have a tbow so I'm curious if I should invest in this until I can get one while I do cms. Maybe bring bp and bowfa? Obviously as you said in the beginning no crystal helm, faceguard instead. Hey Ben! BP and tbow were were already using Arma in the calcs. It's not a big difference either way (+5 accuracy from top/legs). As for CMs, while fbow scales better into CMs compared to the BP, tbow completely blows them so far out of the water (because of the magic scaling) that I'm not sure it's worth farming CMs without an tbow. Hopefully that helps!
really detailed video, love it, would have been nice to see how rocking the DHC/Arma crossbow against these weapons. Should i use arma for zulrah for example? Or if i have a DHC at olm, should i also use that for mystics?
Hey Joben, Thank you! Arma is just worse everywhere... id only use it if you couldnt afford the fbow and the target has high defense. DHC is slighty better at olm if you have max set-up with rubies and dont mind bringing the switches. Mystics is fbow 100%.
@@jobennebur i bring bp + bowfa. If you dont have bowfa, bp + dhc is good. I like using bp in certain situations + the specs for healing. While bp is better at shamans, i prefer bowfa (and even crossbows there) because the range makes the room easier.
Great video, only suggestion I would make is just put the graphs on the screen immediately instead of taking 2 minutes to slowly scroll over. It was really annoying and distracting to not be able to see the graph as you were talking about it.

Over the blowpipe eh, a few places with high defense for sure but for creatures with too high of a def for bp, I think crossbows and even msb compete/out perform the fbow without armour so I'm not sure if its worth getting.

Congrats dude!! You do need the armour to make much use of it I think Blowpipe will be better in most cases without it, even at ardy darts.. you'll need 2k+ shards to corrupt the bow + make the armour so might as well jump back into the gauntlet! The hard part is over though.
If you dont own a tbow, it's probably better than bp at places like mystics and ice demon, plus the range is nice... but otherwise i'd say bringing at least the top and bottom should be strongly considered... it just makes the bow much better and not taking the pieces is a waste of damage and accuracy. It would be like bringing a dragon hunter lance without gloves and a defender.
Hey Cristiano, thanks for stopping by! Just search 6:0 Bandos in RUclips and a few guides should pop-up. Usually this method is used for crossbows on rapid. Fbow is faster so I set it to accurate to match 6:0. The real best method for fbow bandos will be 7:0 so you can be on rapid but that method is still new and I hasn't been learned by many yet. 6:0 works just fine and is a lot easier as well.
so as an ironman that will never get to amethyst darts because i hate mining (I will be using addy darts), is blowpipe even worth grinding for anymore? or should I just skip it and get Fbow? Just got my house setup and serp helm for zulrah yesterday too lol...fml
It's still useful for slayer and as a spec weapon. that being said, addy darts are -11 strength weaker than amethyst so its a solid difference, especially given how ranged strength feeds into the fast attack speed. Addy can still be used but I would at least try to get some rune darts for boss content as a middle ground. Amethyst are just easier to upkeep once you reach 92 mining (I know it sucks, I'm slowly grinding it to). To answer your question.. If you are mostly doing bosses, chambers, etc and just melee-ing slayer mostly... Fbow is going to be better than blowpipe with addy darts so yes, I guess you can skip the blowpipe if you CBA slowly work up your mining level (unless you plan on doing inferno, or more fight caves). What's nice about fbow is you can go do ranged only zulrah and get a blowpipe after anyways in a very very chill way. Couple things to keep in mind: the fbow grind is longer and even if you get spooned the bow, you need 6 armour seeds. Secondly, this is an early prediction and its very late game but if the armour from raids 3 comes into the game as "low life armour", the blowpipe and other ranged weapons will benefit from it while the fbow will not because you'll need to use crystal armour to make it strong.. This means blowpipe could become stronger again once that armour is available.

Does the bow work good without the armor though? I haven’t come across anybody mentioning just not having any piece of the crystal armor and using it with void/elite void/blessed dhide/arma/karils. Like my question personally would be is it still a bis at mole if you don’t have the crystal armor and using elite void/anguish/pegs because I can’t afford to buy the crystals for the armor just yet and can’t afford to buy a tbow either
Its really not super great without the armour. You'll want at least to top and bottom since they give the biggest bonuses. While you may think void is decent because the max hit is only 1 or 2 less.. the accuracy is much lower, which equates to anywhere from 25% less dps at mole upwards to 60% less dps at sara to use some examples. Roughly similar for karils/blessed dhide which is a bit better on high defense like sara but its still 50% less dps than crystal. Good news is that this set up is better than using a crossbow and diamond bolt (e) if you really need to kill these types of bosses, but i think youd be better off waiting until you get the crystal armour before going to deep into bossing without the set.. couple additional notes for you personally: For mole, dharoks is most certainly better at that point I would assume. Secondly, maybe consider selling your pegs for now to go towards crystal armour.. downgrading to blessed boots is barely a decrease but this will help you pay crystal which is a big boost.

Tbow does get a lot stonger in CMs and scaled raids but without a tbow, this is one of the best options. Weird i didnt include daggs even though i checked calcs! Assuming a slayer task, its pretty much a tie give or take the darts used. Off slayer, fbow by just a little bit. Though having the blowpipe spec is going to add value and dps if you dont have the sgs for your spec.

I think this is a case of seeing the two crystal items and thinking fbow has to be better here.. its not.. hydra has pretty low defense and bp performs much better than the fbow and dhcb here.

@@mika_fernandes Yup, that's true.. It's not a bad option if you want to save scales/money but your kills will be a fair bit longer. If your goal is to save money or maximize profits, I would suggest giving melee hydra a try! you'll save the money + have way quicker kills.
Good video, but I would be little careful about showing %. You need to keep the one way, not mix both saying its weaker or stronger. 4:58 you show bp is 50% weaker, but you say the bow is 50% stronger. Which leads to two ways. For example if the bow dow 50 damage, bp would do 50% so 25... But if bp does 25, 150% would be 37.5 damage.

Fbow is better by a long shot. You would use diamond bolts over rubies at Bandos because of his defense but even if you do that, fbow is still way way better.
No. But the new spec is really good. Blowpipe is a solid spec weapon for some healing.. for example, I hit zulrah around 65% of the time and gwd minions around 80% of the time

The Slayer helm and the top/bottom do work together, That is factored in here already. However, the gap does change those because you gain the difference (like around 11.6% damage, 14.1% accuracy) as opposed to the full slayer helm 16.6% boost.

This is solo only. Forhigher scaled raids, you are right in that tbow does do better. Tbow also does much much better in CMs.

Congrats dude!! You do need the armour to make much use of it I think Blowpipe will be better in most cases without it, even at ardy darts.. you'll need 2k+ shards to corrupt the bow + make the armour so might as well jump back into the gauntlet! The hard part is over though.

If you dont own a tbow, it's probably better than bp at places like mystics and ice demon, plus the range is nice... but otherwise i'd say bringing at least the top and bottom should be strongly considered... it just makes the bow much better and not taking the pieces is a waste of damage and accuracy. It would be like bringing a dragon hunter lance without gloves and a defender.

Hey Cristiano, thanks for stopping by! Just search 6:0 Bandos in RUclips and a few guides should pop-up. Usually this method is used for crossbows on rapid. Fbow is faster so I set it to accurate to match 6:0. The real best method for fbow bandos will be 7:0 so you can be on rapid but that method is still new and I hasn't been learned by many yet. 6:0 works just fine and is a lot easier as well.

It's still useful for slayer and as a spec weapon. that being said, addy darts are -11 strength weaker than amethyst so its a solid difference, especially given how ranged strength feeds into the fast attack speed. Addy can still be used but I would at least try to get some rune darts for boss content as a middle ground. Amethyst are just easier to upkeep once you reach 92 mining (I know it sucks, I'm slowly grinding it to). To answer your question.. If you are mostly doing bosses, chambers, etc and just melee-ing slayer mostly... Fbow is going to be better than blowpipe with addy darts so yes, I guess you can skip the blowpipe if you CBA slowly work up your mining level (unless you plan on doing inferno, or more fight caves). What's nice about fbow is you can go do ranged only zulrah and get a blowpipe after anyways in a very very chill way. Couple things to keep in mind: the fbow grind is longer and even if you get spooned the bow, you need 6 armour seeds. Secondly, this is an early prediction and its very late game but if the armour from raids 3 comes into the game as "low life armour", the blowpipe and other ranged weapons will benefit from it while the fbow will not because you'll need to use crystal armour to make it strong.. This means blowpipe could become stronger again once that armour is available.

Does the bow work good without the armor though? I haven’t come across anybody mentioning just not having any piece of the crystal armor and using it with void/elite void/blessed dhide/arma/karils. Like my question personally would be is it still a bis at mole if you don’t have the crystal armor and using elite void/anguish/pegs because I can’t afford to buy the crystals for the armor just yet and can’t afford to buy a tbow either
Its really not super great without the armour. You'll want at least to top and bottom since they give the biggest bonuses. While you may think void is decent because the max hit is only 1 or 2 less.. the accuracy is much lower, which equates to anywhere from 25% less dps at mole upwards to 60% less dps at sara to use some examples. Roughly similar for karils/blessed dhide which is a bit better on high defense like sara but its still 50% less dps than crystal. Good news is that this set up is better than using a crossbow and diamond bolt (e) if you really need to kill these types of bosses, but i think youd be better off waiting until you get the crystal armour before going to deep into bossing without the set.. couple additional notes for you personally: For mole, dharoks is most certainly better at that point I would assume. Secondly, maybe consider selling your pegs for now to go towards crystal armour.. downgrading to blessed boots is barely a decrease but this will help you pay crystal which is a big boost.

Tbow does get a lot stonger in CMs and scaled raids but without a tbow, this is one of the best options. Weird i didnt include daggs even though i checked calcs! Assuming a slayer task, its pretty much a tie give or take the darts used. Off slayer, fbow by just a little bit. Though having the blowpipe spec is going to add value and dps if you dont have the sgs for your spec.

Yup! Tbow by a fair margin of like 20% over DHCB and 30% over Fbow.. Elite void helping out here, a set Fbow can't use effectively.

It is pretty close. Dhcb is generally a bit better if u have dragon bolt and twisted buckler. Might be worth it as a switch if you are comfortable at olm.. i'd still think using bowfa for the last 200 hp will be better
OSRS Wiki has Hydra as tbow->fbow->dhcb and only has bp for spec. I'm torn on who is correct
I think this is a case of seeing the two crystal items and thinking fbow has to be better here.. its not.. hydra has pretty low defense and bp performs much better than the fbow and dhcb here.

@@mika_fernandes Yup, that's true.. It's not a bad option if you want to save scales/money but your kills will be a fair bit longer.
If your goal is to save money or maximize profits, I would suggest giving melee hydra a try! you'll save the money + have way quicker kills.

Good video, but I would be little careful about showing %. You need to keep the one way, not mix both saying its weaker or stronger.
4:58 you show bp is 50% weaker, but you say the bow is 50% stronger. Which leads to two ways. For example if the bow dow 50 damage, bp would do 50% so 25... But if bp does 25, 150% would be 37.5 damage.
Yes, you are correct and I misspoke. For the video, all cals are done with the top item being X% stronger.

Fbow is better by a long shot. You would use diamond bolts over rubies at Bandos because of his defense but even if you do that, fbow is still way way better.

No. But the new spec is really good. Blowpipe is a solid spec weapon for some healing.. for example, I hit zulrah around 65% of the time and gwd minions around 80% of the time

This is with the armour, sometimes without the helm though. Im pretty sure the bow can't compete with msb(i) with rune arrows without 1-3 set pieces.

Slayer helm actually gives same set bonus as crystal helm
The Slayer helm and the top/bottom do work together, That is factored in here already. However, the gap does change those because you gain the difference (like around 11.6% damage, 14.1% accuracy) as opposed to the full slayer helm 16.6% boost.
