Alone in the Dark 2 Walkthrough

Welcome to a full walkthrough of Alone in the Dark 2, a sequel to the original horror adventure game by Infogrames. This time a gang of Pirates have kidnapped a little girl, Grace Saunders, and are planning to sacrifice her so that they can gain immortality. Edward Carnby once again is called to save the day, but you'll also get to play as Grace towards the end of the game.

Oh, man.., I can still remember my disappointment with this game. A far cry from the original, with broken gun play and a silly story about immortal pirates instead of Lovecraftian monstrosities. I know one-eyed-jack was mentioned in the original, and that game also had elements of piracy, but nothing as silly as this...
I can, however, recognize the game’s value and technical marvels. 3D games were still being figured out, and this game pulled off an action packed title with colorful graphics and a silly, yet up beat, soundtrack.

the most fucking hard beginning I played. It just throws you into no-win situation. Constant stun lock and screw you. Why did they make it so much harder than the original?

Was definitely the hardest of the original trilogy. 1 and 3 were more horror and puzzle-focused, 2 relied significantly more on (clunky) combat and mobs (even though I also found it super scary.) I remember just getting in the house took me forever.

At least Alone In The Dark 3 has a difficulty setting so they probably learned their lesson from making Alone In The Dark 2 too hard.

Dang it. Managed to soft lock myself by placing the ice in the kitchen doorway. I could not get past the ice to get back into the kitchen. Guess I will just watch the rest of the game then =\

I’m having an issue with this game on Steam where not all of the words in the game’s files are showing, and there’s no voice reading the words out loud. This is something I noticed when I was reading the file at 16:06 in my game. Does anyone here know how I can fix this?
