To follow on from your sentence saying about the E-G to see the class 170, you could also go to the Peterborough - Ipswich ect.
Downloaded it before I watched this and I have no regrets.

Hi Alan, just subscribed, good review and fair, especially your points about the general negative views about AP. As for being a passenger on the 170's I usually end up with my head against the glass in any case as that is just something I refuse to let go of from my boyhood days! But on a 170, yeah really annyoing wuh wuh wuh wuh sound!

I love the class 313 and instantly installed the class 508 skin. I do wish that the enhancement pack that when you install would over right the original.
I like the look of it and will be picking it up in a week or two. Not that fussed about the lights as life is too short to be counting rivets.
I think the c170 was a Thomson creation originally, and they’re not too keen on payware usage of their creations if the WCML Trent manual is anything to go by, maybe they’re the reason AP didn’t re-work the cab or body of the unit ... Not sure, there’s likely to be a commercial reason why 🤔 Seems good tho’ ...
AP didn't rework the body or the cab to keep the cost down as people were complaining about the price.
At the end of the day, they are a business. £9.99 is incredibly cheap so bumping it up to £11.99 isn't a massive deal. They need to fund recording sessions and hours of work so the price needs to be this way. Plus, a normal train from DTG is £11.99 so its great value considering the features.
The 170 isn't £11.99...
For a start, it isnt more than the base game, the base game is £25. Secondly, the 170 is just over £2. I think its worth it, if you don't, don't buy it. Its not rocket science.
The base game is £24.99 on steam. I'm more than prepared to pay this much for an add-on of this quality. If you don't want it then don't complain...
I like how AP can update the 66 overhead panel and implement a very complex computer, they can model a brand new computer screen in the 92, as well as other hard to implement systems. And charge $5 (Now the 66 is $10 for extra liveries and cab textures). Back then there were no issues with "liscensing" or such. Now, with these enhancement packs, there's all sorts of issues, regarding price or what to include and what to price it. For example, there's no issues including the radio in other dmu packs, but this? Oh, that's a price issue! Or what about those child objects they couldn't add due to liscensing, but could add to other packs? All AP now is a developer who can do one thing in one pack, but they won't in the next, or who charges more for slightly better features.
I'm sorry, but if a sound pack, and yes, all this is, is a sound pack, is more than the actual dlc, I expect some actual new features, not some OK sounds and liveries I can get for free.

When you talk about the air dams, you mention AP not wanting to put out a sub standard product on purpose. That's entirely the point. Without illegally modifying core files AP have not been able to do things like Air Dams or the MML style HST lights to their standard. Freeware producers can either get away with editing the core files, or can produce things that look "right enough" but are sub standard. As an example, the freeware mod for the Turbostar that gives air dams makes them different size and shape to real life to cover the plough and horns on the model. Just as with the lights, people would have complained about this had AP used this solution. AP stated that this was the same with the MML lights on the HSTs, they tried it but it wasn't up to their standards. Of course they could just do their own model which would be 100x spot on, but then people would moan about paying £20 for it when they already have the steam 170. Can't win.
ChrisCooper312 Adding lowered airdams and the correct lights for VP185 HSTs isn't illegally modifying game files. They're child objects, not model tweaks. AP have made child objects before... How else do you think they did the illuminated separate tail light on this?
The Anglia class 170s never had the bubbles around the red lights, they came in 2012 ish time I think. Great video though

does anyone know why every time i spawn the AP class 170 in quick drive on the fife circle line the tail lights are on at the front and i am unable to turn them off in the cab. does anyone know how to turn them off?
Should be 'K' on the keyboard, if you have tried this already then I do not know and I apologise.

Things that annoy me about this pack is: incorrect destinations boards, incorrect interiors and no Pass View (but we can expect that)

This pack looks really good. Wil lwait till a sale to get this, there is alot included but I don't wanna pay over £10 for it. That sounds disrespectful, it is not but I don't like paying over the odds for stuff.
