It was about World War 2 Era back in 1939 until late 1945. The Axis Powers : Germany, Italy and Japan tried to invade and rule the world. But there were stopped by the Allied Forces made up of USA, UK, Soviet Union(Russia) and China.
Japan attacked USA by bombing at Pearl Harbour in Dec 1941, Pearl Harbour was US Naval military base. The Imperial japanese Air Navy service used Kamikaze (suicidal) pilots to crash into Navy ships, to first break any resistance. Then they came in waves, dropping bombs and demolishing the base. Right after that, USA researched on Atomic technology and used the world first ATOM bombs.
USA dropped 2 Atom Bombs in the city of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan. Killing millions of people instantly. Japanese government surrendered after this and this marked the ending of World War 2.
SO that is the reference Kamal was making. ITS a very well known thing about this 2 countries. THEY will never ever forget these 2 major incidence in history.
You guys should had watched DASAVATHAARAM movie in Tamil. Kamal Haasan's voice modulation for each character in Tamil was really amazing. He spoke the exact slang of each character. 10 roles in 1 movie - OMG!

According to the story ..Coming to you... If it's not happened then the whole country fedup with that virus and crores of people have to die instantly
To stop that virus spreading ..need tons of salt content how they can arrange the tons of salt at that time .. so the god rescued the people by that tsunami by killing hundreds of people

There was Japanese character becoz he will defeat Fletcher and help them being alive during tsunami becoz Japan Experiences tsunami mostly so he knows how to survive.Its too much interlinked.Only could Kamal Hassan could do it.

GUYS many of this film viewers hadn't understood the deep inner meaning. Actually the inner line of this picture is everything in this world happens for a purpose. If you observe at starting of the film 400 years back, people devotees of Lord shiva(shivates) dominates vaishavates(devotees of lord Vishnu).Kamal hasan vaishnavaite and King who is shivate gives capital PUNISHMENT. Then showing a butterfly shutters in to air giving meaning this act of sacrifice doesn't goes in vain i.e. As sciencetists says for a shutter in butterfly there will reaction at the end of World as a cyclone. NOW, He borns after 400 years in different avatars of lord, in the picture 10(mean dus in hindi) people(film name DASAVATAR, all characters played by Kamal hasan only) each have their own character and story running in parallel. At the end they all meet at Kanyakumari(souther tip of India). Plotting the scence correlating the god and science. God created tsunami against bio weapon which need thousand of tons of Nacl(salt). Finally depicting the greatness of god" if God hadnt created tsunami there would be more lives at stake with bio weapon". EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON and EVERY CREATURE HAS A PURPOSE TO BORN.

dasavatharam means 10 incarnations of one person, lord vishnu(hindu mythology) took 10 avatars, so kamal hassan comes in 10 diffrent roles in this same movie, ur seeing only 3 in this fight, there are 7 more in the whole movie, kamal is the best in india, probably one of the best in the word and he does martial arts really well,
