At that time , Bollywood movies all did a great job .so people did n't expect a great one from the other end. So unfortunately this movie also didn't meet that great expectation recognition of heights.

Here Poovaraghan character is compared to Lord Krishna. Traditionally in Tamil literatures he is described as extremely black in colour. Lord Krishna dies because of an arrow struck in his left leg just like how Poovaragan dies here with a rod piercing his left leg. Remind his entry scene??? While Asin mam character was about to be raped by removing her saree pallu she shouts "krishna" and Poovaragan comes to rescue her. Just like krishna rescued Panchaali by giving her saree while she was about to be undressed by Gowravas. After his death Krishnaveni grandma tells that her son was born on night 8'O clock and god took his soul on morning 8'O clock. Lord Krishna was 8-th son to his parents. (Number 8 link). Lord Krishna was born to Devaki but becomes the son of Yashoda. Here Poovaragan was born to some other mother but during his death Krishnaveni accepts him as her son.
And Poovaragan character can be also linked with Varaga/Varaha avatar of Lord Vishnu. Varaga avvatar was taken by vishnu to rescue earth goddess Bhooma Devi from Hiranyaksha. Here Poovaragan always fights for protecting mother earth.

The movie is about if there is actually gif ir whether if its random incidents coinciding with each other . Here when nambi narayan was drowned in the sea with the statue, it started a chainreaction of seismic activities which resulted in the tsunami in that specific day.
