Very innovative and entertaining. So Yia Yia kept it real! Then I am honoured that she took a shine to me over the years that we corresponded. May she rest in perfect peace! Much missed. She would be proud of the Hellenic Nigella! You've really set yourself some challenges with these videos.

Thank-you for your nice message. Her memory is a blessing. 🙏She truly did enjoy your correspondence and appreciated your intellect.
If I can help or inspire one person, I feel it makes a difference. That alone is worth all of the work entailed for one person to keep up with this every week.
Putting my own spin on recipes and enjoying the fruits of my labour is something I enjoy as well.
      Nice to hear from you.🤗

@@CookingJJ True, each one of us can make a difference with our unique talents and passions .Your enthusiasm shines through. Very engaging videos. What amazes me is how many different types of cuisine from all over the world that you're managing to cover with your own unique spin. Looks like you've found your niche, girlfriend! Rock on! Efharisto for your kind words!

@@ingridremenyi Indeed. Each person has something unique to offer. We can learn something from everyone we interact with/ meet. It doesn't matter what level of education a person has either. They may be knowledgeable on something specific that one has never encountered. Just by observing, exploring, and interacting, we can learn a ton of interesting things.
The melange of flavours and cultures provide a certain zest in life. Each recipe, and experience in working through each one can tell a story, and provide some inspiration. Perhaps comfort too.☺
      Παρακαλώ!

@@CookingJJ You're spot on! As you know my field and lifelong passion is the study of various cultures and languages and Toronto being the crossroads of the world, and the most multicultural city, I've had ample opportunities to add to my knowledge through new friends from African countries. Since I have the displaced person/refugee experience through my late parents I feel a special bond with newcomers and an obligation to help them feel welcome in a strange new land of endless winter. It's been a joy to learn as much as I can about their diverse cultures..

Ooops. I should have waited to the end of video, where you suggest Anise extract as a substitute for the ouzo. Sorry.

Is there any substitutions for the ouzo?

Good with a cup of Greek coffee or after a heavy Greek meal.

Greek coffee indeed.☕ A heavy Greek vegan meal - but be careful not to overdo it.
