It would be easier to have an electric motor that opens your Fridhe, you could have an NFC tag on the floor and when your Astro rolls on top of it the fridge would open, and sense the NFC tag is there you can have it check for the command and if SPRITE or whatever was called, you could then have it wait a predefined time and the soda would roll into the cup holders then the next command would be to go find XYZ
Why not just add a motor to the fridge door so Astro can just command the fridge to open the door itself and hoist down the bottle from the door to the cupholder with a pulley system
I worked for a company called Mayfield Robotics. We designed a robot called Kuri which was functionally just like this (different form factor). I ended up with 2 of them. The novelty wears off fairly quickly. But it’s still useful for home monitoring when you’re not around and keeping the pets on edge 😂
