@@CarsofSwedenlive Can I ask where the instructions and wiring kit come from? As I've said, I've bought a stalk from e-bay expecting it to be plug-and-play. It obviously didn't come with any instructions, or wiring. Thank you.

I got the instructions from BMW when I bought the stalk. I have seen it on a few BMW z4 forums as well.
Great video and would be confident about tackling this now. Don't know about your idea of factory finish though with the massive gaps in the cowling. I think a little extra trim under the switch is required
Thanks for the message and good luck with the installation. Just to be clear though if you have a earlier z4 pre 2006 you won't need to run that blue cable, it's just the lever and your good to go.

Thanks! Next time.. never disconnect the + from battery first, alway first negative! During disconnecting the positive, you can easily shortcut to ground with your tool!

Thanks for this fine tutorial! I looked up the instruction manual too and I wonder if the CC fits in any e85 (I have a 2.5i n52). Do you know if it fits mine?

Almost all the z4 e85 models have most of the cabling already in place. If your car is pre 2006 it will be a simple case of the plug and play (the plug which goes directly to the stalk) without the need for the loom as seen in this video. If your car is after 2006 then you need to follow the steps in this video and no programming is necessary.

@@ggb0309 no coding is necessary. the stalk should work when you are driving bover 50km per hour.

I am almost positive this works for most z4 but i have seen that different engine sizes have the box (in the engine bay) in a different area. so you will have to investgate that first. But i believe that most cars before 2006 you only need to buy the stalk and no wiring is necessary.

@@anatolibaer3633 i not sure you needed to run the blue cable as your car is before 2006. You only needed to install the stalk.
The computer box isn't there in my engine, any ideas where I might see it?
What model and car is it?

@@Breezy56781 not that easy to find that box in the 2.0L I would go down to my local bmw garage and get your engine diagram printed out.

Cringe as I watch him undo the positive first waiting on the metal spanner hitting the negatively grounded bodywork... eek.
ALWAYS disconnect the negative first and reconnect negative last for that reason.
