Grasso. I think the fight will be close, and go to a decision, but I think a fighter becomes much better after becoming the champion, and I think the first fight wasn’t a fluke, it was just a great finishing sequence and clinical seizing of the opportunity. Grasso - decision
Valentina I believe is going to win easily. Probably training harder than ever before. Just like Amanda Nunes did when she lost the belt and got her rematch.
@@youtubeconnollyfamily you could be right, imo it’s a close fight, but valentina making excuses for the loss isn’t a good sign imo. She made a bad decision, and alexa finished the fight.

I could tell the moment Grasso started, she had trained hard for the fight. I hadn’t seen her so technically sharp in any other fight. So much respect for her, and a great game plan from her team. Both women fought technically, a real chess match. Thanks to DJ for breaking the fight down. Nobody can do it better.

Brilliant, Mighty! So useful for us strikers who are watching! Glad we live in a world where the GOAT has a sick youtube channel and passes us this knowledge through it.
As much as I'm a giant Valentina fan, I think she will lose again. Watching the fight her striking tempo became very predictable and she was noticeably slower, I think she has just hit the age she falls off and if you kept up with her sister right around this age was when her own striking fell off a cliff as well. If someone sees something different I'd like to know but I think my favorite fighter is just done sadly.
Valentina wasn't herself that night. Her team even said so. There comes a time for every champ where they need a bad night and need to lose. Exceot Jon Jones cuz he runs and hides and shoots up. But I think Valentina will win. She may lose again, but she won the take downs except 1 and enough rounds. She schooled Holly, a southpaw, and spars with her southpaw sis like everyday. NUNES lost to PEÑA. Every champ hits that point.
@@paulsmith8510 I never put much stock into them saying a fighter wasn't themselves. Nunes we know had knee injuries, but besides that Pena never let her breath was the issue. Valentina wasn't exactly dominating on the ground, and sparring Antonina is no longer a good thing....she was getting pieced up in all of her last fights because she has slowed down so much. The biggest issue is I believe age has caught her as it catches all, and her most common weapon (which is what let her dominate Holly) that check hook has been the latest weapon in MMA to be neutralized. we have now seen it get people caught over and over including her! I genuinely hope I am wrong as I said she has been my favorite fighter and main fighter that got me into MMA, I think Grasso has closed the skill gap enough that her Youth and speed is just too much.
It was 3-1 for Valentina. Very close and competitive but the wrestling was making the difference until the mistake. Grasso can win again but Valentina has the edge.
@@luisfernandozamoranomagana1381 I am not sure what you mean, Mexican by any chance? Valentina was clearly winning 3-1 for me until Grasso got her back. For me it was a Valentina mistake but sure Grasso had a great part of it. Grasso won and deserved the victory. Still Valentina was ahead on the score card, at least on mine.

i was also surprised that Shevchenko wasn't throwing her powerful left kick at all in this fight (especially when Grasso was in orthodox) usually slamming that to the body is one of her biggest weapons.

Shev is such a beast- I think you're right. That kick had Fight ending intention. INCREDIBLE she somehow got that around like she did... Grasso POUNCED though... And kudos to her going for the jawbreaker - Most people fight for the neck , but she went GOON STYLE . This is such an intriguing matchup. I have a feeling Shev makes the adjustments she needs to and gets a clear win on Saturday. Her takedowns were great, and Grasso didn't seem to have an answer for those double legs. Shev will take better advantage of that. She's likely also been working on being ready for all the stance switches , which Grasso does so smoothly. I'm sure Grasso has been working as well, I'm taking nothing away from her. I actually picked Grasso to pull off the upset, I thought Shev would under estimate Grasso and get caught. She won't make that mistake again. -140 for shev?!?! NEVER in my life did I think we'd ever get shev below -600 in a flyweight fight lol Grasso dangerous no doubt but -140? That's disrespectful. Not quite the same as Julie/Nunez fights , but i could see a similar outcome.
