Its worth a watch, and I believe that the correct order is watching at least half of the 2003 version before Brotherhood, because Brotherhood was clearly made with the idea that anyone watching it is already familiar with the previous anime. Since you've already watched the 2003 version, you just need to boot up Brotherhood! It has awesome new characters and a very good plot, although 2003's Wrath remains my all time favourite.
