Countrychicvegan I agree, I love listening to what she has to say. I have nothing against Kristina. I literally just do it because a lot of people only care about the question.
Thank you
Countrychicvegan because we care about the content of the title nor the stuff before
#YouDaRealMVP
Thank you, she talks so damn much in the intros
Y’all have to understand she is human and learns every day. THANKFULLY she tells us when she learns something new or when she changes something in her diet. If you don’t like that, don’t watch others people’s videos for information.🤷🏾♀️ Meditate and sun gaze and find your own answers from within.☀️😂
Salt helps you hold water in your body so you don't get dehydrated
Salt is a necessary mineral in our body. I don't know how people come to this idea to not use this important element in there daily food. It's dangerous to follow all this what some people are sharing here on you tube. So don't follow blind others. Inquire first!
Sodium is in many vegetables
Zoë Rae Sure but how you see it seems to not be enough 🤔
madmoiselle H people just need to look after their macros. Salt specifically is not _necessary_ . Additional iodized salts aren’t the only way to get sodium or iodine or to maintain hydration but they’re the most convenient. You don’t _need_ added salt to get those things but it’s good to listen to your body. If you feel bad and think it’s coming from your diet, change something.
I was put in the hospital for not having enough in my body
I think since she eats so much more sodium occurring in vegetables, she is actually consuming a fair amount of sodium. Salt is not really necessary, sodium and iodine are.
I ended up in the hospital for not eating salt. I had to add pink salt a small amount.
Me too! I never salt anything. I dont like salty things unless I'm on my cycle and it's about a handful of salted cashews and I'm done.
Never ever thought I'd be put in the hospital over it
Laura I actually have a metabolism issues. I dont break down and process food properly. I only absorb 1/4 of the nutrients I Should. I take sublingual vitamins daily just so they get in my system. So, there ya go. So now I consume alternate products to keep me at 3/4 of my levels. I still dont add additional salt to anything. My body doesn't process table salt at all very well. It's fun.
LB HOPRSNFD how much do you eat now? I also need to add salt to my diet Thank you LB
@@kizmomma7009 Stomach acid is produced from salt. So of course you're going to have metabolism issues.
Just so you know guys Sodium is an essential mineral (plenty in celery for eg) Sodium Chloride (Salt) is a non essential irritant, although very tasty and in fact addictive!
The issue is that back in the day when you didn't consume any salt, you were advising people not to do so either. I remember in your website you would justify it by saying that people can die from consuming salt-water and therefore salt is to be avoided (which is a silly argument to put it mildly; one can also die from consuming too much regular water, does this mean we shouldn't be drinking water at all? It's the dose that makes the poison and the medicine). Back then you didn't specify that people who are doing such-and-such activities would benefit from consuming salt, no: you were adamant about not consuming salt, period. No grey area, just black and white. And I don't know about now, but back then your website's FAQ section wasn't about your experience eating the way you do, it was about giving health and diet advice to other people, advice which in hindsight turned out to be unfounded and extremely irresponsible.
Perhaps she has grown wiser with experience. For those who follow advice blindly, perhaps they'll grow wiser too.
People can only blame themselves for listening to and trusting someone who has no degree nor history of study in medicine nor human anatomy and physiology. I blamed myself after I listened to ridiculous vegans, and tried their IDEOLOGICAL ramblings. I ended up in the hospital.
As a member of indigenous tribes, I should have trusted the tried and true ancestral, seasonal diet of my own people. But nooohooo. I had to be an ass and followed other assess. Well, I have returned to eating meat like my ancestors before me, and I haven't been anywhere near a hospital since.
Thank my common sense I didn't eleminate salt mineral from my diet because that probably would have been the end.
ThinkFirstable what does vegan have to do with you apparently doing it the wrong way? i personally am studying biology focusing on biochemistry, i've been vegetarian for 16 and vegan for 9 years, im totally fine and far away from a hospital. all you need to do is reading some technical literature, using your common sense and listening to the signs of your body.
@@annebartholomaus783 - Who you are matters not, to me. We are not the same. You cabbage heads are effing OBSESSED with what other people eat. Seek psychiatric help. Your cultish 'doing it wrong' parroting does NOT work on me.
what is wrong with you opinionated people?! Get over yourselves! She is simply sharing with great success what has worked for her for a decade or so and is giving a coherent and legitimate reason why she started pink salt or Celtic salt minimally. When you sweat profysely you lose your minerals through that sweat. She is simply replacing those minerals quickly with the salt which has a full spectrum of minerals. It's amazing to me how short sighted opinionated people are.
Mammals lick salt rocks on nature too. I live near Amazon jungle in Brazil and I saw this happening. You can check this on biologists camera traps research. I don't know why frugivores think salt is not necessary.
Sorry for the english. Greetings.
So it really is true that they are cutting down the rain forest in Brazil to make room for "grass fed cows"? ...so sad:(
Yes, for pastures and for soy
its a damn shame, is what it is
We gave salt rocks to our horses in our stable :) If not to hard exercise, not much salt is required, and people tend to get to much salt rather than to little :)
On the topic of the jungle in Brazil, I know we (Norway) get most of the food for production animals (also salmon) from soy from Brazil. I'm glad I cut out meat many years ago and don't pay anyone to cut down the jungle
Why would animals licking salt mean we need to eat salt?! Salt is very tasty and infact addictive. Salt is not neccessary for me at all 100%.. Sodium is neccessary! Celery! :)
The reason why is at 5:25 - my fiancé does bikram yoga (hot yoga) and he went to the emergency room because he didn’t have electrolytes. So she needs her salt.
Salt deficiency may cause hyponatremia a serious medical condition causing disorientation, confusion. It is life threatening if it is not treated appropriately in elderly. It's good that you started consuming minimal amount of salt.
I did not know this!
I guess it depends on what you mean by salt. If you mean sodium chloride I don't think we need that. If you mean sodium then that is definitely necessarily but a very efficient body which very few people have can get enough from just fruits and vegetables. Though there is an argument that in nature we'd getting some salt/sodium in is by swimming in the ocean but I'm not sure if that's necessary. There are a bunch of long term raw vegans/fruitarians that are thriving and don't consume salt like Loren Lockman, Doug Graham, Robert Lockhart, Anne Osborne, Cappi and more. And not only are they doing great but one thing certain is they don't suffer from hyponatremia and have been doing this for decades so that says a lot.
sowhat I know that there are lot of people doing good in Vegan diet. But what I mentioned here is a possibility of Sodium chloride deficiency, which is common in people consuming sodium restricted diet (eg: hypertension). I am not well knowledgeable about vegan diet providing enough Sodium. Well, yeah it must be..otherwise all those raw vegan people could have been experienced some sodium related issues. The key is to educate ourselves before restricting or incorporating something. I am also more of vegetarian diet. But I do consume salt ( minimal ) but never less than recommended dietary intake. But yes, fruit and veggie diet is the best.
But she still gets salt from vegetables, she said she wasn't deficient
the only bioavailable form of salt is from fruit veg and greens. All other salt is stored in the liver because its harmful, especially table salt.
It’s ok to eat healthy salt. Our body just can’t get it all from veggies and fruits. It seems like you struggle to accept that fruits and veggies can’t solve every problem.
Walrus Latte raw veganism is like a cult. Once you believe a certain thing, that’s it. I don’t disagree with being healthy, I don’t like duh extremes such as cutting salt from a diet. No hate
I love love LOVE this video series! Thanks for making them! I love getting to know more about you. You’re an amazing and inspiring person. 😍
Really happy to see you willing to experiment with changes in your diet. That's amazing and genuine. Happy you found something to help!
Thank you Christina, I definitely feel better!! ❤️
I was a vegan for a few weeks. I felt great and started looking so much better. I fell off of the wagon and have not been able to get back on. It’s so hard but I really want to get back to being healthy. I admire you and love your story. You took control of your life!
I love your honesty. So glad you are caring less about what other people say/think. I assume people will always have opinions..,
Hey kristina! You can also add sea vegetables like sea moss bladderwrack kelp etc. bladderwrack had iodine .
Yayyy I’m so early!! Also I started being vegan a few months ago & it’s really made a difference in my energy and skin and I naturally wake up earlier! The goal is to be raw vegan one day but I’m taking things slow and steady. Thanks so much for uploading ^_^
LatinaKamilla you're awesome! Congrats on your journey!
P Vonich thank you! You’re so sweet ^_^
Yes, slow and steady wins the race, never stop improving your life the best you can.
be careful, those people on youtube talking about veganism, raw plant base diet seem to know a lot about nutrition, but never seen scientific studies on their channel. There is a huge difference between what a plant is supposed to provide (on the paper) in terms of vitamins, nutrients and their bioavailability in a human body, besides all the antinutrients you can find in plants... You should have a deeper look into all of it, your health is at stake...
You're makeup looks really pretty and clean in this video ❤
salt is an essential nutrient. salt. is. an essential. nutrient. wow . im worried for you and your followers.
Jamie Flash Isn't that what this lady does? Pretends to care about people she's never met because it pays the bills? She even frequently gives them non factual advice, preaches pseudoscience, eschews evidence, putting people in harm's way.....
Seems in comparison a factual comment on a video is fairly innocuous.
@@adelaamarante ....your talking 1 lot a shite.......if u dislike the girl that much why you here paying her bills as u like to say....... if the whole world listened to 90% of her advice am pretty sure the world would be alot healthier than it is
Trolling on a girl whoz advising ppl to eat more fruit and veg.........what had the world come to
You need it, especially table one, wich is by law with iodine.
I love you. Thanks for sharing all your amazing stories and health tips with me (us). Am grateful.
I love pink Himalayan salt!
Great advice! Thanks Kristina!🙏🏻😀💛
Awesome to see a long time question answered! This makes total sense! Love FAQ Friday. Do you know when the app will be on android? 💗💗💗
Before Thanksgiving!!
@@FullyRawKristina awesome! 😁
I can't wait until Android users can use your app! Many blessings to you Kristina! ❤
Awesome video Kristina! It’s so much fun to learn together. May the raw vegan and vegan force be with us all.
Thanks for being your genuine awesome self! Thanks always for the raw vegan inspiration!
I'm glad you made the change that helped your body function optimally!
So your body needed more sodium to recoup. As a vegan why did you decide on a zero extra salt diet when these healthy salts are known to be healthy?
Some people like to get everything they need from whole foods. But it seems to me like she had mainly fruit and some veggies so she probably wasnt getting enough only after starting the extra sweaty workout
@@SM-td7ux salt is naturally occurring, I would say that it is a whole food. Even animals supplement with it
Mineral technically its considered a whole food yes. But i wouldn’t consider it one because you can go overboard with it way too quickly as an ingredient. Its way better to get it from things like bladderwrack kelp sea moss etc
@@SM-td7ux true it's bad in excessive amounts. I was just wondering why someone would limit it on the basis that its not a whole food. NaCl is just the solid mineral of what's found in food right?
Mineral i understand but lots of ppl say it👐🏼
I always love watching your videos. I add salt on my heavy training days as well. I was getting "charlie horses" in my legs at night that were waking me up out of a dead sleep. I don't train every day like you, but I do add it on the days I do.(4-5 days a week)
Thank you for this information Kristina!
Thanks for this video! I also recently started doing hot yoga and was feeling the same symptoms. I just purchased Himalayan Pink Salt. Glad to hear it worked for you.
Hi, Kristina 💗
Love your energy!
Salt didn't work for me and I'm not complaining about it 😊
Keep rawkin'!
It’s interesting that we feel the need to express ourselves in a way that can possibly prevent judgment from others. Anyway goooooooo Kristina! Live your life!!! 💗
I'm not a doctor but I have been doing a lot studying and researching to heal myself and I did learn that salt stimulates the adrenals...extreme and/or prolonged heat can deplete your adrenals...could it be that your "feeling tired" is a sign that your adrenals are getting too much load? So I'm thinking the salt could stimulate your adrenals to perk up...salt is a stimulant on your adrenals...so yes, it will make us feel better and energized but it still is a stimulant.
Your helping me be a better and healthier person
Good to know! I just began using a bit of salt but for the purpose of flavor. Love you Kristina!!!
Great job, Kristina! ❤👍
great video K...and thanks for being transparent...hyponatremia is a specific issue for many and it is good you found your own balance..and being willing to experiment..regardless of the critics...
yes I had this conversation with jungle janie who's been raw for over 15 years. She found she needed salt esp when she hadn't been eating much veggies. I think kelp is a nice addition to the diet as well. Good for iodine.
Hi Kristina, my brother stationed at Cyprus for 2 yrs or so so naturally the family would go out to visit him. He too was a marathon runner, and was provided with salt tablets to take every day. When we went over, the medic would insist we take them also (not that we were sporting people but because we were used to a much colder climate therefore our bodies were working harder, therefore depleting these minerals that needed topping up each day. Now I live in Australia and even when it is 40°c and hotter, we still have to continue working, cooking, etc. Not every job or house has efficient power as often it is common that our power will fail through insufficient power in the power banks with our power companies and so Aussies are encouraged to drink 1 sport drink a day. I don't like these (their full of sugar) so I have always taken salt as I did in Cyprus. I have used this method for 30 yrs, it's good for me.
Love that you are explaining these things my dear! On that note. (Aside from the fact that I love you and have been following you for years now lol)
Buuut the protein powder? The sun warrior protein powder you use, can you do a video on why you began using that? It would be awesome to hear about that part.
I am now on the Mediterranean lifestyle personally because it works for me being mostly plant based but I needed alotttt of protein because no matter what I did I lost loads of hair being vegetarian/vegan and raw vegan.
IttyBittyShewbs xo lol she is paid to use Sun warrior
1 million + YOU ROCK ♡
Thanks for the information. Glad to see you are doing well. God Bless.
Bravo and thank you !!
Fascinating. I'll try to open conversation in the Inner Circle after I finish my pesto pasta.
I just love watching you!! I’ve been with you since 2012 I’ve changed my name but I’ve always been here watching and I just still so proud at how strong you are! I wish I could be as strong! Hi Kristina! Great video. Appreciate all the time you take to test issues and inform us! I have a question! What dental work have you had done - including ortho, perio, restorative...etc. Thanks!
Thank you for sharing beautiful!
I had to add salt to my smoothies when I was living in Thailand. I was sweating a lot and not eating very high salt foods.
Thank you for sharing Kristina.
*your videos always make me so happy. you give me so much hope in humanity. sending you nothing but love kristina ♥️*
LOL I dont care what you post about I am always watching!! Love YA!!
Looking radiant love ❤️
You are amazing ❤️
A big take away is that you definitely are fully connected to your body and you give to it what it is asking for. 💙
You are a true angel, you inspire me so much to be a vegan / vegetarian @fullyrawkristina
Thanks for sharing. I went WFPB in January and I make sure to stay current with my physician visits. My doctor ran through some important nutrition needs and the first was iodine. I think it is very important to couple a special diet with a good physician or nutritionist that you trust. Iodine is an element that is needed for the production of thyroid hormone. The body does not make iodine, so it is an essential part of your diet. This is why I added a little salt back into my diet. Just my experience as well.
Love your video's! 😁 Thank you 🌺 🌺 🌺 I also use himalayan salt and sea salt. Have a Lovely day from Holland x
There is no iodine in sea salt. This is why I still consume some iodized table salt. Or take an iodine supplement.
Exactly !!
Hi, Kristina. I agree with your eating Himayan and Celtic sea salt for adding benefical trace minerals not fiound in fruits and vegetables by themselves. Another good video, thanks.
Yes, celery and sea salt (Pink Himalayan and or Celtic) for minerals. After drinking filtered water for a long time, it came to my attention that that process filters out minerals as well. This is a tasty way to replenish them. Thanks, Kristina🙏🏻
I’m honored, Kristina🙏🏻
Minerals should mostly come from whole foods
Celery juice in the morning is amazing and comes from Anthony William, the medical medium. Would be respectful if you'd reference him so people can find him. He's helped so many people with mysterious chronic illnesses. He's the one to follow for medical issues.
soon you’ll by like Rawana and eat cooked food (which is a great decision btw)
If you live in western States your body wants cooked foods in cold seasons. Raw and cooked is good for body
alright alright now if she wants to eat raw vegans thats a good thing because fruits and vegetables are so good for you we all need to understand that not every food works for you cooked does not fit her style
i hardly call that stubborn just her preference of eating personally i wish i had the will power enough and
the strength to do this diet i would be so healthy but i just dont have it in me to do it like kristina but shes great person for eating raw living fruits and vegetables straight from mother nature and i bless her for her beautiful diet.
Sun Waves they look alike though
I love rawvana's recipes
Why do you think that is a great decision?
Great video, great topic. It is one of the only things I disagreed with about the 80/10/10 diet.
I really "believe" in salt. Of course in "pinch amounts" and good quality.
Thanks for this update!
The years you have on the raw vegan lifestyle and still looking good and healthy now speak volumes and put you up there with such as John Kohler.
The raw vegans who don't consume any salt tend to start looking dehydrated and/or depleted, which is why I disagreed with the "no salt" guideline.
Much love to you!!! ❤❤
Appreciate you all and send you many blessings today! What are some other questions you have for me?! Ask below! Much love!
Why don't you eat certain types of fruits? Well, I haven't seen you eat certain fruits! Lots of love, hugs, kisses and blessings your way! 😘😘
Do you eat potatoes ?
FullyRawKristina thank you for sharing! Love you 🙏🏼✨💝
Why did you start consuming protein powders? Or did you always do so?
When are you gonna start eating meat so you can feel truly great and healthy?
Just got your app!
I don't like adding salt to my diet, but I did by pink Himalayan salt. I read it's good to use for brushing teeth along with other ingredients! Keep up the good work 👋
Totally agree, I find the same, by adding a pinch of Celtic or Himalayan salt ( not the table salt crap) to my food I feel heaps better. Water + fresh lemon and a pinch of salt is nature’s sports drink! 👍
Love your honesty since we are ALL learning, you might want to look up about the sodium/potassium PUMP which is at the heart of our ENERGY GENERATION. So by your receptive response to your current state and willingness to deal with it, you may have overcome a problem early on that would have dragged you down if you had not taken action. I am especially impressed by your willingness (after 8 years of believing that salt is bad) to be so HONEST and put it on the table for others to benefit from your experience.
I fully support your distinction between table salt and other salts that also contain many minerals without being bleached and all the others things that go on with tables salt. You have clearly made known you can be TRUSTED to make known any issues you have rather than hiding them away.
Great video love ❤️ 👏🙏😁
Cause u wanted more flavor in your food....? (My answer to the title before I watched the video. ) lol
BatiYah B I KNOW she’s addicted now!😂💕
ROTFL!!!!! I like Kristina's commentary on why she needs to add a little salt, because she added intense workouts. It makes sense, but your reason is quite candid, amusing and very truthful. I still struggle to only get my salt from celery juice, but I would LOVE some salt in my food. I do not use salt because it keeps my blood pressure down so I do not need medication. LOVED your answer! :)
Hi Kristina! I’ve been watching your videos off & on for 6+ years. You look great, glad to hear you still tweak as needed. I wanted to suggest checking into the benefits & possibly trying out Sole Water (pronouced So-lay). You get more minerals & less sodium from the salt when consumed this way.
Follow your body and it will help you follow your journey on earth! Kudos to you for making the choice to change where it was vital for your life..even if it was a hard choice.
You make me want to eat fully raw, I keep trying I hope one day I can just stick to it. ❤️
Thanks for sharing 👍✳️👍✳️👍✳️ and good luck for Bali
It makes sense 👍
Oooh 👻 my favorite time of the year 😱
yay salt! just a tiny bit makes such a flavor difference... That's great it can help you stick with a yoga practice you're enjoying so much :)
If you have bad digestion pink salt can help with stomach acid to help digest food.
You look so amazing !
I was mostly raw vegan and juicing several days a month. Circumstances changed that. I also tried a tiny pinch of pink salt to some lemon juice and drank it. I had gotten higher Bloodpresseure. My diet is not where I want it to be and I hope I can change that soon. I really dont like the way I feel. Feels horrible. I was mostly raw vegan for 6 years
what do u recommend for someone like me who, due to digestive issues and IBS, is sensitive to oxylates (sp?) Which are in a lot of healthy vegetables. I was craving fresh juice for a while so I was juicing carrots apples spinach parsley kale.... And it was causing me to be gassy bloated and doubled over with stomach pain. I know leafy green vegetables are healthy for most people but in my case they really do me in. Side note: I am not vegan, and with an issue like mine I don't know how anybody could be
I eat mostly raw. I'm trying to eliminate sugar in my diet, and turning more to salty/savory foods. Good video!
I'm not a vegan, but I do like some of your vegan recipes Kristina! This video was a good one, I'd love to hear more about your running though... I was also a runner but now have been doing other kinds of exercises, but I miss it for sure. Your video inspired me to think about picking it up again. I'd love to watch a video of your running experience. What kind of terrain do you run on? Shoes you wear and also, how do you keep your knees and joints healthy with all the running you do? Also what do you think about swimming?
You need Sodium and Chloride for biochemical processes. It is important!
you have got to be kidding me.
You know you love it
Salt in healthy amounts is also necessary for several electric functions within the body as well.
Hey Kristina I found this amazing raw vegan diy recipe for dry frizzy hair that works like a charm coconut cream+aloe vera gel+almond oil+few drops of neem oil blend apply on hair as a leave in conditioner 💓 Love you
Hi Kristina!! I’d love to learn about how your sleeping habits have changed since going raw!
Coming tomorrow!
Agree with sea salt principle in general, and there a new micro plastics contamination issue depending on region sea/ocean water quality.
Which brand are you consuming if you don't mind sharing? Started looking into salt and got scared a little as some apparently have more pollutants than others. Thx for always being inspiring!
you rock!
I'll be adding some fun FullyRaw & Vegan healthy Halloween recipes to my app this weekend! You can download my app here...stay tuned! Can't wait!! itunes.apple.com/us/app/fullyraw-by-kristina/id1351412313?mt=8 .... and btw...is anyone here dressing up for Halloween this year? What do you hand out to trick-or-treators?
Hi Kristina, for the pink Himalayan salt you use do you buy iodized salt?
thanks doll
There are very few differences between sea salt and table salt. The way sea salt is produced allows it to maintain trace minerals but there is no extra health benefits that come from sea salt or Himalayan salt(table salt is more processed though if that's a factor you care about) in fact most table salts actually contain more iodine that Himalayan or sea salts so if your looking for that eat table salt.
Hey! So, I know there's not any one right answer to this for everyone... But in your video you answered sometimes not getting home till rather late (9/10) and it sounds like you infer THEN you go ahead and have dinner... What's your eating pattern/meal times of the day? Only asking because I've found I have an "alternative" schedule than what most articles or people harp on (eating only during daylight hours etc), simply because this works for me. Thus, I am curious as to what you find works best for your life/body as well? Thanks!!!
What's the problem a little pink Himalayan salt or Celtic Sea salt I've never heard of any issues with it. I've been vegan / raw vegan cuz I was 17 and I've always just had a pinch of here and there I never cut it all the way out so I'm just curious was there a problem with it? Or was it a personal choice to cut it out because your raw vegan? I'm simply asking out of pure curiosity, I know some things are people personal preference ,I know some people kind of jump on the bandwagon and getting erroneous information about certain lifestyle so I'm just curious. I'm a writer , holistic health practitioner , herbalist and certified aromatherapist. I get get curious when I hear things like this.
Sydni Milan I think it’s a lack of knowledge about salt. Natural salts are good like himi salt and Celtic salt. and processed ones like table salt, cooking salt, iodine salt not good.
Thora F It doesn't. She is quite misguided in a few things from what I've gathered very recently.
Anikoxx Iodized table salt is Iodized for it's health *benefits*.
Seems like there really is a lack of knowledge about salt.
Hi I am Dawn on I like your raw diet I am doing it too keep up the good work God blessed up always
I don't eat salt Kristina. I eat miso soup every morning with nori and when I need to put salt into soups or cooking I use wakame. Basically salty seasweed. It's the best thing for the thyroid. If I bothered with salt I'd use Himalayan pink salt, but I'm good without it. XO
