I can see why you think that but think about it in another perspective the reaper did kinda make some people pass on buying Subnautica because it was to scary. Also there's not really a area fit for the reaper at least from what I can remember it just would not fit in a snow themed place.

It’s actually just a mod, not an Easter egg. I know because I also have information about the mod: they haven’t managed to make the creatures hostile and the reaper didn’t eat you alive.
