Biblical Modesty / How Should Women Dress?

- In this video I discuss some principles concerning the topic of modesty, appropriateness, & decency in the clothing we choose to wear. While everyone does have their own ideas & standards of what they consider to be modest, we should always be honest with ourselves in seeking to glorify God rather than our flesh. As summer approaches, I am not saying we should all be sweating in long, heavy clothing but we should put extra thought into the clothing we put on. As women of God, we should dress in such a way that emulates our position as God's children in His kingdom. It is always a work of progress to learn to dress well, & we should encourage one another in all gentleness & kindness during this journey. I pray this video was a help to all. God bless!

By sharing this video, my desire is to encourage myself as well as other women in pursuing a lifestyle of modesty, beauty, respectableness, and gracefulness as women of God. I truly want to encourage women in a way that isn’t condemning and degrading, but rather gentle and loving. Modesty can be a difficult area to address in our lives because of the many aspects there are to consider. However, it is a necessary discipline to strive for as Christian women. Let us not conform to the culture around us that encourages as much exposure as possible, but rather let us conform ourselves to the image of Christ! Christ lived a life of modesty and sacrifice on earth and so should we. How we dress is ultimately a reflection of our hearts. It is wise to consider the culture we live in, the people we are around, and the activity we are in engaging in when choosing what to wear❤️
Thank you so much for making a video based on biblical principles! I agree that so many follow what our culture says (that our bodies are our own, that our value lies in the attention we gain, that immodesty is empowering,) and it’s so important to remain rooted in the truth!!

Hi, Sabrina! I’ve been a silent subscriber for a bit 😅 but I really had to speak up today because, MAN, did this pop up right when it needed to. God’s timing is truly perfect. You SO hit the nail on the head with this one... I am a Muslim woman, but I feel the essence of Christianity and Islam are quite similar, especially when it comes to modesty. There isn’t really one specific way to be modest, but I think God created us with a moral compass that kind of helps us differentiate what is right for our specific bodies in line with our intentions for Him. One of the funny things I learned in life that really tied into what you said about “rules” is about how one outfit can be modest on one woman but not another, just based off of the way God designed us so differently. I love your confidence in talking about an issue many shy away from or discuss from a less spiritual perspective. Thank you so much for sharing this!

I am so so glad I came across this video. As a high schooler, it is so easy to fall into societal norms, but this video is very encouraging! I just have one question after watching, what are your thoughts on more masculine clothing? (cargo pants/baggy shorts/other things like that)
I’m so happy to hear that! I personally do like the street wear style (that can entail more masculine clothing) and I used to wear it all the time. I find it’s honestly very easy to be modest in baggier clothing. However, as I’ve become a mother I’ve tried leaning more towards more feminine clothing because I want my children to see a clear distinction between what women and men wear. So I’ll still wear baggier clothing, but try to maintain some femininity to it. It’s a tricky area but I personally am leaning more out of street style, or at least trying to bring feminine touches to it❤️
This video came up on my suggested and I watched the whole thing and subscribed! This is such an important message. I've honestly never heard modesty from the Christian perspective in which didn't provide suggestions, but rather relied on the word. You're absolutely right, it's all in our heart.
