  • Tom yum is a type of hot and sour Thai soup usually cooked with shrimp.
    The words "tom yam" are derived from two Thai words. Tom refers to the boiling process, while yam refers to a Thai spicy and sour salad. Tom yum is characterised by its distinct hot and sour flavours, with fragrant spices and herbs generously used in the broth. The soup is also made with fresh ingredients such as lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, galangal, lime juice, fish sauce, and crushed red chili .
    Ingredient :( Serving 2 )
    400 ml of chicken stock
    4 round galangal, thinly slice
    2 stalks of lemongrass, Cut
    3 shredded kaffir lime leaves
    3 coriander roots
    100 g straw mushrooms
    10 each pounded bird eye chilies
    1 tbsp fish sauce
    1 tbsp fresh lime juice
    1 tsp chicken powder
    coriander leaves for garnish
    How to cook:
    1. Boil the stock, add lemongrass, galangal, kaffir lime leaves and coriander root. Continue boiling for a few minutes
    2. Bring the stock back to a boil season with chicken powder and fish sauce . When it returns to full boil again, add the prawns and straw mushrooms.
    3. Cover with lid for few minutes or until shrimps is cooked. Turn off the heat Add the lime juice and lightly crushed chilies.
    4. Sprinkle with coriander leaves.
