There has only been a few character I wished that join straw hats crew...Bon chan, Bartolomeo & Foxy. I actually like foxy and he has very useful devil fruit power it can slown down enemies and help them escape and I won't spoil anything about Bartolomeo but you will like him when you get catch up to the anime
Another bullshit, but I cant make spoilers. Pommy if you watch only the anime you lose some facts that you can only see in the mini adventure in the manga. My advices is: read the mini adventures online. First, you have to check in which part of the manga they are, to avoid spoilers, because for example after some chapters from the beginning you will find Bagy and Koby&Helmeppo mini adventures. In this point you can read some miniadventures, also what the strawhat crew do now
