It's time to drop this "soft" non-story. Mayo quickly and repeatedly corrected himself by clarifying that the team is playing soft, not that the team or its players are soft. Yes, Mayo needs to be careful of how he says things, but you guys should give the guy a break. This team was handed to him in shambles and we are less than halfway into the 1st year of a rebuild. If a sub-par Jaguars runs at you 17 times in a row and you cant stop them, then he's absolutely right that his guys are playing soft. If they don't like the narrative, then they should play better football.

But he looked into trading the bust before 2023 season.
They lost 8 games by one score, lost games by missed field goals, and had a top defense despite being riddled with injuries. This year they lose to the worst teams in the league (Jets, Miami, and Jags) often by 3+ scores.
They were 9th in DVOA last year with injuries to many major defensive players. They are now 27th in DVOA. Mayo and his defensive coach have not coached well on the defensive end and Mayo has not established discipline to his team
