2011 IndyCar Finale Las Vegas - R.I.P. Dan Wheldon - crash highlights and 5-lap tribute

Dan Wheldon was fatally injured after his #77 Indy Car became airborne in the midst of a 15-car crash on the 12th lap and flew cockpit first into the catch fence, which is the higher guard fence above the padded wall.
He won the Indianapolis 500 this year and was competing for a five million dollar prize. Half of that money would have gone to him, the other half to a lucky fan.

thank you for posting this, i dotn follow this sport, but never the less, its still very sad to hear of anyone passing. esp someone as young as him. with a wife and kids left behind. RIP

Man this crash is only something you should see in a video game and not real life. It is really terrifying watching something like this. Very very brutal.
