Heist movies are also one of my favourite genres. Definitely “Oceans 11-13”, “Thomas Crown Affair” (the Pierce Brosnan remake), and not forgetting “Heist” (Gene Hackman).
While the 2003 remake is fun, its not a patch on the original 1969 caper. Fabulous music, Michael Caine gets one of the funniest quotable lines in film history and of course...the car chase. Genius.
Just found you guys! Great channel and love the commentary. On recs- The Score is another great heist movie. For driving, Ronin has a solid getaway. And they both have DeNiro.
Thanks for doing this because I love this movie and I’ve never seen anyone react to it before, I actually decided to check out your channel specifically because of this video and now I’m definitely going to check out your other videos.
Enjoyed the reaction. My movie recommendation would be for The Game (1997) with Micheal Douglas and Sean Penn. it’s a highly under-rated movie you will never forget.
Trust me, watch the sixties original, for a quintessentially British movie, and then Get Carter (1971) for the contrast and two Great performances by Michael Caine.
For some really good 'recent' car chases and caper-esque escapades, the Bourne trilogy is pretty good. Some old skool classic chases are in "Bullitt" and "The French Connection".
Nice reaction! I just found your channel and subscribed. Here's my short list of heist movies: (1) The Bank Job, with Jason Statham; (2) Parker, with Jason Statham and Jennifer Lopez; (3) Heat, with Robert De Niro and Al Pacino; and (4) The Thomas Crown Affair , with Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo--not necessarily in any particular order.
You need to watch "Heat" if you haven't yet. Michael Mann directed, it's the EPIC film of his career. Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro, Val Kilmer for starters. Entire cast is stacked! This is easily one of my top 3 films of all time!
"If there's one thing I know, it's never to mess with mother nature, mother in-laws and, mother freaking Ukrainians." "Look, I need a favor." Fun Fact: When Steve (Edward Norton) turns on his TV, Alfie (1966) starring Sir Michael Caine is playing. Sir Michael Caine starred in the original The Italian Job (1969). Automobile Enthusiast Fact: A MINI Cooper with two steering wheels was used for some of the shooting, in order for a stunt driver to drive the car while one of the actors performed for the camera. This car is now a part of the MINI factory tour in Cowley, Oxfordshire, England. Action Star Fact: The principal actors in the movie did most of the stunt driving themselves. While all of the principals needed stunt driving lessons, Yasiin Bey aka Mos Def, who is from New York City, needed a little more work because he didn't have a driver's license at the onset of production. In interviews, Jason Statham said that in addition to the stunt driving course they all received, he got two days' driving tuition from Damon Hill, the British ex-world champion Formula 1 driver. However, all of the cast members acknowledged that Charlize Theron was easily the best driver among them. During production, Charlize Theron got two speeding tickets while driving in her own car, both for going more than 40 miles per hour over the speed limit. She said that after filming driving so fast, she just couldn't get her speed down to drive home.
First two heist films I always recommend are Confidence ( 2003 ) and Inside Man ( 2006). Confidence has Ed Burns, Dustin Hoffman, Andy Garcia and Rachel Weisz. Inside Man is directed by Spike Lee and has Denzel Washington, Clive Owen and Jodie Foster.
The First Great Train Robbery (1978) (Sean Connery and Donald Sutherland). "Going In Style" (2017 and 1979) (Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Alan Arkin). Also the Netflix Series "Money Heist"
I enjoy watching movie reactions and on a whim I did a search for "The Italian Job" and you guys popped up, and it was a brand new video. Also so surprised that yours seems to be the only one. I really enjoyed your reaction and wish you luck with the channel. Good car chase movie ...... Ronin with Robert De Niro Good heist movie ...... Logan Lucky with Channing Tatum
Aww thank you so much!! I'm also very surprised to hear we're the only one - hopefully more channels watch it, because it was so good!! Also thank you for the movie recommendations!
Since you said you've seen the Ocean movies a bunch, I suggest Out of Sight (1998). It's done by the same director and I've always seen it as the prototype for those movies. I also suggest Grosse Pointe Blank (1997). It's not a heist movie but I think based on what you've watched so far if you haven't seen it you'll probably dig it.
You're the cutest couple I've seen in a long time. Love the chemistry and interaction!! heist movies ... Entrapment (1999) Thomas Crown Affair (1999) Sneakers (1992) Heat (1995)
I love heist movies, my personal #1 is the rarely mentioned Grand Slam (1967), favorite most recent one is probably Ronin (1998). Incidentally, have a 50 movie heist ranking over at letterboxd (as DoctorOtto).
Late to the party, but my all time favorite heist movie is "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels". You will not be bored at any point in that movie, I promise! Thanks for the reactions, loving the channel!
I’d like to add The Town with Ben Affleck, Jeremy Renner and Blake Lively to the list, less a heist more of a series of well-planed robberies with a great car chase in the middle.
Some great suggestions here, so I'll second Sneakers and Thomas Crowne Affair (1999) - there's a movie I haven't seen recommended here from the last 90s - not a heist movie, but a really exciting action/thriller with some great chase scenes and awesome(ly funny) late 90s tech - with Gene Hackman and Will Smith called Enemy of the State. It's so good!

This one should not have been called "The Italian Job" as the majority of it is not in Italy. Don't get me wrong, it is a great film BUT it should not have been called "The Italian Job".
"The Transporter" movies (2002, 2005, & 2008) with Jason Statham for car chases, instead of heist movies, how about a heist T.V. show, "The Catch" (2016-17) is worth looking at.
Gone in 60 seconds, The Sting and Sneakers are all good heist movies with a great cast.
“The signal shudda been her smashing the bottle over his head” 🤣 good one
Car chase, heist, revenge trifecta is all in the movie Ronin (1998). One of the best, realistic car chases on film.
Baby Driver is both a heist movie and a car movie! Highly recommend. Amazing cast and done by the always incredible Edgar Wright.
Oh fun! By the title it sounds like a very silly comedy haha
