I am pretty sure he made a solo album just to be able to sit with David T playing that song. I bought that Jackson 5 single on Vinyl right after seeing this video for the first time.
I love these videos but I find Jack's voice a little monotone to listen to for hours and hours tbh - huge respect to the guy though, he's an incredible and inspirational musician/producer
The fact that Jack started with David Williams brings a level of unexpected joy to my heart that I've only previously experienced when picking up a kitten for the very first time. So many under-appreciated rhythm guitarists out there and he's in the top tier.
The thing that most people don't get and i am realizing now, is that there is no other trinity coming, cause otherwise this wouldn't be a holy trinity of videos. That's the poetry of it. Damn you Straton.
Only there are now four: tambourine, minimalist funk arrangers, guitar, and Aretha Franklin rhythm sections. There must, MUST be a total of seven (7). Eventually. Must.
Yo This dud just showed me the sound of 2 of my favourite guitar players (Cory Wong and Melanie Faye) and said “Welp, here are the dudes who invented the things you love about their guitar playing”
I've had the same strings on my bass for 15 years and haven't cleaned any part of it for probably 10, I make a point of never looking at it closely because it's probably got concentrated ebola by this point.
I just watched this three times in a row, then quit my job at a Boston hedge fund and turned around and learned how to play clarinet and kazoo simultaneously from Zamfir’s sister. It’s been a ride y’all
Hey dudes at Vulf, I have watched the holy trinity videos a number of times. Do you think you could please add them to a playlist. They are a bit of a pain to find. Thanks!
i really love these and hope you keep doing them! my predictions for Jacks bassist trinity: James Jamerson (that's a given), bootsy Collins, Bernard Edwards
High Pressure = "Darty Eyes Or Something" New phrase for me. I think it is his metaphor for being nervous. A fluttery stomach is another; nervous state means you are not relaxed and worried about criticism. For all performers; they have days they still do their best despite that nervousness.
I was gonna comment about how Holy Trinities/Bass hasn't come out yet but so many people have commented with their best guesses that I think I have some material to tide me over for a while
I love the content but I keep coming back to these videos to indulge myself in the sound mixing. Fun content to play to test your headphones/speakers/amps etc.
I'm right with you on this unheralded style and these brilliant purveyors of it: those who choose to use the electric guitars' rhythmic capabilities and go beyond treating it like a bad-sounding saxophone. But I would like to add a couple important, somewhat unheralded rhythm players: Tony Maiden (Rufus) and Sugarfoot (Ohio Players).
Does someone know the music (and the player ) played on the hammond organ from 6:36 to the end ?? sounds like amazing grace but I'm not sure... and it just sounds so good =)
Day 1,163 of waiting for Holy Trinities: Bass
I think he snuck it into the Joe Dart Bass video.
All three would be Joe Dart
Add another year on that
i mean it would just be james jamerson three times
@@littlesnowflakepunk855 my guess would be jamerson, carol kaye, and bernard edwards
The fact that Vulfpeck is listed under David T. Walker's collaborators is such a flex
I am pretty sure he made a solo album just to be able to sit with David T playing that song. I bought that Jackson 5 single on Vinyl right after seeing this video for the first time.
"You gotta get out of the house"
*2020 disapproves*
2020: No
F
Nile Rodgers is so funky... Nile Rodgers is so funky.
"if we can ever reach that point of being too funky, we go to nirvana"-Nile Rodgers, remember that kids
Day 324 - still waiting for "Holy Trinities - Bass"
Joe Dart
Joe Dart
Joe Dart
i could listen to jack talk for hours and hours
I love these videos but I find Jack's voice a little monotone to listen to for hours and hours tbh - huge respect to the guy though, he's an incredible and inspirational musician/producer
ok?
Yes, thanks
It appears to me that his vocal tone quality and way of speaking are accented because it makes this that much more funny.
Got that Adam Savage level enthusiasm about music that I just can't get enough of.
Haha love that little 2:54 - 3:00 switch from "talks at Google" to "Talks at Goodhertz"
If the Bass Trinity comes out and Joe Dart isn't there, I'm killing myself.
Miguel Branada seems extreme !!!!
I already know Paul Jackson will be on the list lol
Jaco Pastorius
James Jamerson
Larry Graham
Chuck Rainey/Bootsy Collins
I don't see how he could not pick these guys.
Miguel Branada PREACH!!!
Do you guys make ANYTHING that isn't top quality? I've never seen anything of yours that's just good, it's always above and beyond
The fact that Jack started with David Williams brings a level of unexpected joy to my heart that I've only previously experienced when picking up a kitten for the very first time. So many under-appreciated rhythm guitarists out there and he's in the top tier.
This is a WELL-produced video. It's so thoroughly charming & enjoyable moment-to-moment!
The thing that most people don't get and i am realizing now, is that there is no other trinity coming, cause otherwise this wouldn't be a holy trinity of videos. That's the poetry of it. Damn you Straton.
No bass one with joe . Nooooooooooo 😭
Only there are now four: tambourine, minimalist funk arrangers, guitar, and Aretha Franklin rhythm sections. There must, MUST be a total of seven (7). Eventually. Must.
Theo and Joeys unreleased gamewinner vocal track is just heavenly
Yo This dud just showed me the sound of 2 of my favourite guitar players (Cory Wong and Melanie Faye) and said “Welp, here are the dudes who invented the things you love about their guitar playing”
Great stuff, we need to have more of these please!
Great first name
I NEED A TRACK OF JUST THE ORGAN FROM THE END
ARE YOU LISTENING, GOD?!?
www.conversesamplelibrary.com/pack/cory-henry-b3-jam. 1:30 stem sounds like it to me

Andrew Bowen this is fantastic!!!
that organ brought me back to Jesus
The only person who cleans his fretboard less than me is Jack Stratton 4:19.
Jesus, that was another kind of FUNK!
I've had the same strings on my bass for 15 years and haven't cleaned any part of it for probably 10, I make a point of never looking at it closely because it's probably got concentrated ebola by this point.
@@AfferbeckBeats That's just nasty. Take care of your instrument.
So grody. Clean that fretboard.
It allways amazes me to see the godly talented musicians Jacko had with him.
That Strat at 1:30 is a guitar I've been searching for for years. Congrats on that. It's a beauty.
I love when he honorably mentions Prince..😁👍
I don't even know how many times I've watched this
Incredibly well produced video. Great job guys.
Killed me!! Loved the production value, insight, and sense of humor! Can't wait for the next one
aaaaaaaa i really wish i could see the gear used to shoot this - and the color processing in post too. i just LOVE the aesthetic in this!!!!
This video is more quotable than step brothers
please please please do more of these
The Holy Trinities series is so good.. please keep them coming!
Great video Jack! I'm primarily a drummer, but play a lot of RHYTHM guitar... melodic/harmonic tambourine, damn right!
DAVID T. you got him!! you achieved something comparable to a church having the holy spirit doing a sermon.
I so thoroughly enjoyed this.
This/you is/are a gem
fuck this video editing is so incredibly good
i can listen to jack talks about guitars and vulfpeck things all day
I just watched this three times in a row, then quit my job at a Boston hedge fund and turned around and learned how to play clarinet and kazoo simultaneously from Zamfir’s sister. It’s been a ride y’all
New favorite series
How does this not have more views?! This is amazing
definitely wanna see more of these
4:20 plane is acting as a drone, playing E over G and A.
The only manned plane to also be a drone
first episode on Vulf channel
These are great. Thanks for the lols and the education
2:24 oh my lord this scene is why I decided to play guitar 15 years ago! Nostalgia overload!
Still waiting on Holy Trinities: Bass
An impossible task for Jack I reckon
You thought you could sneak in the background vocals to game winner in and I wouldn't notice, but I always notice Jack. I always notice.
“Nile Rogers is so funky, Nile Rogers IS so funky.” -Stratton
Thanks for another uplifting sermon!
The Jack Strattoncaster. I know, it's obvious.
Christ that edit at 4:40
keep em Commin!! These videos are great!
Jack please do more of these
David T is really "one and only" guitarist.
Hey dudes at Vulf, I have watched the holy trinity videos a number of times. Do you think you could please add them to a playlist. They are a bit of a pain to find. Thanks!
i really love these and hope you keep doing them!
my predictions for Jacks bassist trinity: James Jamerson (that's a given),
bootsy Collins,
Bernard Edwards
what about Joe Dart?
I'd say Joe Dart is a perfect 4th, just like the minimalist funk composers
This is so great! My favourite rhythm players too.
Holy jangles that was dope! I'm gonna get out my tambo and jam!
High Pressure = "Darty Eyes Or Something"
New phrase for me. I think it is his metaphor for being nervous.
A fluttery stomach is another; nervous state means you are not relaxed and worried about criticism.
For all performers; they have days they still do their best despite that nervousness.
If there were 50 of these clips I would take a day off to watch them all!
I actually got a music trivia question right thanks to this video by identifying the David T pinky harp. Thanks Jack!
this is awesome! love these
More of these please
Excellent!!!!
That's a really cool strat!
To naysayers who claim that Jack's fretboard isn't funky enough, just remember - you gotta have space. That's the pocket.
#minimalistfunk
Game Winner backing vocals, nice
Great answers. I'm a blues guy myself, so a I'd have a different 3. But being a funk and soul, these are pretty solid choices
The main reason I stay in the house is because of high pressure and darty eyes.
extreme good work
about a minute into this video i realized i had already seen this one pretty recently but then i just watched it anyway.
Kinda bummed that the bass video never came.
I was gonna comment about how Holy Trinities/Bass hasn't come out yet but so many people have commented with their best guesses that I think I have some material to tide me over for a while
David Williams is playing a Starfield Altair in those clips
The claranet in the intro is the same as the beginning of the msg show
It’s from their song “The Sweet Science”
These guys are special!!! Respect ✊ vulf
Squier Classic Vibe Strat and a Gibson Midtown Kalamazoo. Great taste in guitars.
that Never Can Say Goodbye hip hop mix is beautiful. where can we find it?
If they actually released that somewhere I would be so happy.
This video is a good edutainment.
can't wait for the bass one
The passing plane makes the eleven chord feature sound extra cool
What is the chord that Jack's playing?
Looking at it again it seems just like a super A triad (A, A, A , C#, E, E). Maybe it's supposed to go over an E in the bass?
Many thanks. I'll give that a shot.
I love the content but I keep coming back to these videos to indulge myself in the sound mixing. Fun content to play to test your headphones/speakers/amps etc.
Brilliant and hilarious.
Can we get that 'Never Can Say Goodbye' mix though?
cant wait for the next one!
According to James Brown it's all Drums in different shapes.
Where is that David T Spotify list? I would love to give it a listen.
Nice Deluxe Squire. I have the very same.
I love you Jack Stratton
Funky hummingbird at @4:58
THANK YOU

I come here often just to see that strat.
you win! thanks for the education!
Holly Trinities bass?? We are still waiting!
"welcome" he says; "i'd like to talk to you about beans"
What crazy lens did you use!? That swirly bokeh is stunning. Also, love the video!
I just really need to know who worked those sweet-sweet Petzval lenses on this one....
Does someone know the music (and the player ) played on the hammond organ from 6:36 to the end ?? sounds like amazing grace but I'm not sure... and it just sounds so good =)
stem of cory henry playing amazing grace www.conversesamplelibrary.com/pack/cory-henry-b3-jam
Goodhertz, Inc. this is fantastic!!
that fret board on the strat is pretty gunky and funky
More trinitiieeeeeesssss!!!!!
JS is such a genius.
