@@nerdtron8 yeah i sometimes gloss over them too, especially if theres stuff going on making my hand bigger so you can barely see the cards without hovering over them. (not as bad as nl though lol) it could be cool if they had like, a custom suit icon thats a mix of all four. or even no icon. but if they wanna make sure you can tell what it was before the wild card was added maybe they could just make it a different colour? like blue on normal/green on high contrast or something
The videos where NL has the Luna timer always get me pegged up. I think the desperation cooks his brain a little

That's good because early arm was such a disaster. Nerfing the hand _before_ scoring made it nearly impossible to one shot in the first few antes, resulting in a pretty badly hamstrung run.
I only noticed this when my friend was playing like wtf is your game bugged, didn't know they changed it

I really wanted to try getting a level -1 hand, but I never got the chance.
I love the goofy ass way he plays most rogue likes. When he builds a run with things actively working against each other, like vagabond and gold sealed cards. Every decision in those circumstances is then a bad one, and it gets me pegged out of my damned gourd.
You either die a type B chatter, or watch Balatro long enough to see yourself become a type A chatter
Refusing to sell Vagabond despite holding $30+ for like 2 antes is certainly a decision, especially when Ramen was there lol. Never change NL, never change

Straight Flush not being counted as a Straight during that boss blind feels like a direct attack
I honestly feel like it is a general design flaw of the game. Like so many of the jokers function as "If hand CONTAINS hand type", and this makes them so much more intuitive and useful. On the other hand, once you've leveled something like straight or flush, straight flush becomes actively worse. I feel like hand upgrades should upgrade every hand that CONTAINS it.

@@SamuraiPipotchiliterally the entire scoring system is just a poker hands tier list, and straight flushes being considered a different hand matter in poker since they beat hands that beat normal flushes and straights. And even if your argument is that it isn't poker you could just slow down and read the massive text on the screen warning that the hand won't count lmao

the cards give score left to right, and sometimes you want a x2 after a +2 for more score

I don't watch too many NL vods cause lots of the games he plays I don't want to spoil for myself, but just upon watching this one for a little bit, NL's YT comment section are like their own little microecosystem. There is a whole dictionary and syntax built by this fanbase shared by absolutely nobody.

Vagabond is the worst econ/resource type joker. Prevent you from getting interest and shopping freely, doesn't support any scoring jokers (e.g. if you want to Fortune Teller, Hallucination or Cartomancer could be better). Change my mind.
Nah Hallucination sucks ass, 50/50 chance to maybe get a tarot card after spending extra money, while taking up a joker slot. Vagabond is slightly better than it but still not a great joker either
Why the hell do you need econ when you are getting 3-4 free tarot cards per round? You can even sell the ones you don't need in between rounds (while in the shop, not in play) to afford more stuff. If you get a hermit, you hold it till shop, and the $3 you had plus the $3-$5 you get from the blind gets turned into $12-$16, more than enough to buy even a polychrome rare joker, plus a pack. Tarot cards let you fix your deck so that you can run flush in brain-off mode, eventually getting to flush 5, possibly with aces. Vagabond is so strong you don't even need econ.
@@Risosceles I guess you have a point. But Hallucination can work with Oops all 6 for 100% chance, which means as long as you can pay for it (and that's supposed to happen if you have good econ), 2 tarot per rounds. The best part of Hallucination is that you can "switch" it at no "cost". Don't have money to open packs? Then just don't, and do it again once you are rich. You have too much money to trigger Vagabond? Gotta spend it immediately in your current shop, bonus points if you do it via reroll and you are at $4.
This isn't even mentioning that Vagabond is deceptively good econ lol - between Devil (and death if you like), Temperance and Hermit it more than makes up for the lost interest - Vagabond is a ridiculous joker and it amazes me that some people don't see the obvious value of getting 4 tarots a round@@AlbertoNeurohr
@@AlbertoNeurohr Sadly consumable slot is normally only 2, and although you can cycle through the generated tarots to fish for Hermit or Temperance, other tarot generator (Superposition, Cartomancer) can give also give you some tarot without neutering Hermit or limiting you to just one polychrome + pack each round, and don't forget vouchers, too. And have fun spending it if the shop stock sucks. It might be fun to throw enhancements to your cards, but since you have to use them immediately, you might not be able to apply it to the card you need.
Sidenote: I don't think it's trivial to flush five with just tarots. You must Death a card four times or Strength some lower rank cards, then get the appropriate suit-changing tarots. And if you only have the minimum 5 cards for that, then good luck finding them unless you also thin your deck with Hanged Men.
