Absolutely love my Lectric XP. Bought two of them. Have about 122 miles on mine so far. Getting ready to do some mods (rear view mirrors, utility bar for the handle bar). And -- the customer service I've received from this company is literally the *best* consumer experience I have ever had. These guys absolutely rock it.
Well we pulled the trigger, can’t wait till they get here. Ordered today and can’t wait. We are an older couple so I got the step thru for my wife, and the normal Xp for myself in white. It just looks good. We are also getting some new seats and the same helmets you have as well. Will check your store for whatever we can find. You folks are awesome.
I had been teen thinking about buying two e-bikes for my GF and myself for a while, looked at tons of RUclips videos, decided on folding 20 inch fat tire for a style, narrowed it down to RadMini or this one, liked the price on these and that they seem good enough for what we want to use them for, watched all Rad Mini and Lectric XP videos I could find especially a couple that compared those two side by side, and ordered a standard XP for myself and a step through for my GF last night. So many videos are biased or based on an opinion created after riding the bike for 5 or 10 minutes. This video by you two talking about what you like and don't like after riding them long enough to get a good feel for how they are was invaluable and I can't thank you enough for making this!
I had the same loose left pedal. But I did go over the bike and tighten them before riding. I read that these pedals have nylon bushings. They can cause friction until they break in. Lectric sent me a new left crank arm right away. Great customer service. We love ours.
It was a pleasure meeting you today and giving us your opinion on this bike. As I said when we were speaking, I ordered mine a few and can’t wait to ride!!. Made sure we subscribed as well!! Thanks, Alan & Andi
FANTASTIC review guys - just stumbled upon you guys today!! I just ordered one of these bikes for up here in Canada - the value and features i've seen out weight anything in Canada for this budget. I'm an entry level e-biker ( is that the correct terminology..>LOL) So this one seemed perfect!! Mine is being shipped duties and Customs charges paid for an extra $200.00 if any of your international followers are interested!! Those HELMETS are amazing I didn't know they exists, so thank you for sharing :) Happy riding!!
Just got our bikes! Had to go back and find this video, I was really looking for the Sena Helmet Info! I think I saw this vid a year ago? Thank you! Thomyt
We are currently camping at the Outflow Campground that you were at a few weeks ago. We ran into 2 different couples that had the lectric xp. We ordered ours late August but sadly still have not received them yet. It's funny how many people watch these vids that you and others are putting out on this bike, yet they still are surprised by the derailleurguard being bent and can't get past 4th gear, or the loose this and that they are complaining about. If they would watch and actually listen to the useful tips and info you and others are putting in the vids , they might actually learn something. Thank you for your useful and informative vids, keep them coming!
@@LyfUninterrupted We love it! We live 75 minutes away, gives us someplace close to home. Biking , fishing, quiet little town and campground. also, our bikes finally came in, put them together but haven't ridden yet, tomorrow we will ride. Thanks for the reply and your vids.
@@LyfUninterrupted , great! we only rode for 2 miles since it was dusk and getting dark quickly, but it was also cold. lol, wish we had received them sooner and they forgot to send our panniers, which I called about. so far we love the bikes. Thanks
Thanks so much for the great review and the accessory ideas. Like some have already said, I too am in envy of your lifestyle. It’s obviously working out very well for you guys. After months of research online and one video I ordered two Lectric XP Step Thru bikes last Sunday for my wife and I. We’re in our 60’s, I’m disabled since 2008 with failed back surgery and my wife has about 18 months until retirement. After almost dying from medical treatments I went the natural route several years ago and have continued to fight my way back. I’m really looking forward to what I know this bike can do for my recovery, both physically and mentally. Since we live in Maine it will be a short season this year but that experience will help me get through another long winter with something enjoyable to look forward to. Thanks again for both of your great reviews and all the pointers. I look forward to seeing more adventures on your bikes. Take care and be safe! Terry
Ordered two bikes a week ago. Mine gets delivered tomorrow! Feel like kids again. Looking forward to traveling in our motorhome with them for lots of exploring. Great video. A big help!
Bought two of these today, one black and one white! Waiting patiently for their arrival. Looking forward to getting acclimated to them and a few upgrades as well. Thanks for the great review!
Great presentation of the XP. Thinking about buying one but I'm still looking into if they are legal in NYS and NYC. They can sell them in NY but it's the throttle and motor size will determine if they are legal to use.
I'm in brooklyn.. u can ride if u are 16 and older without a helmet up to 25mph but after that u need a helmet and have to be over 16 but... the loophole is, these bikes have pedals so its considered a petal assisted bike.. class 2..
Warning I'm from New York as well, this bike comes in a class 2 format however it is also capable of moving up to class 3 once you remove the limits on the speed. 28 miles an hour equals class 3, that's 28 miles an hour with pedal assist and throttle Once you remove the Restriction so that it's able to go 28 miles an hour you must remove the class 2 sticker and reveal the class 3 that is beneath it
I have had a total knee and found the pedal rotation too tight for me. I can only use it as a fully electric bike. We absolutely love the adventure factor it provides and will be buying a second one. Thanks for telling us about the communication helmets. That will really improve our rides.
Just ordered 2 on the “Black Friday Special” and watched your video. So thankful for your clear and honest information. We will be diligent with the nuts and bolts because of your warning. I am going to have my daughter come here to order the helmets for our Christmas presents. (She always wants a suggestion and it’s less $ than her idea.) If you ever come to Sanlan RV Park in Florida, we might get to thank you in person.
You two are an awesome couple made for each other thank you very much for the information I've been thinking very hard about getting one of those and most definitely and leaning forward to get the same experience you guys are having again thank you very much I truly appreciate all the information you have passed on too me
Good review. Thanks. 81 degrees and 80% humidity in Charleston is pretty good. Try 100 degrees and 100% humidity, I live about 100 miles away, close to Augusta GA. Good thing is you don't have to iron clothes. Step outside and the wrinkles fall right out. Normal for last 2 weeks of July and first 2 of August.
Thanks for update - we just ordered 2 Lectric XP Nike’s and can’t wait to try them. Great tip on those helmets too - might be our first upgrade. Enjoy your rides!
You Guys started me on my research path for an electric bike that fit my criteria. Long Story Short .... I ordered the Lectric XP it will arrive on December 3rd. The only Con I could find about this bike that didn't fit my personal criteria was the stiff front end forks. That said, my #1 criteria was Foldable and most other foldable bikes cannot compare to the other specs of this bike. Keep up all the Great WORK you guys do. And, Thanks for the review. ANNNNND all the goodies links :) Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas !!
@@LyfUninterrupted I ordered Mine on Saturday November 23rd 2019 ... $879 +(The discount code didn't work) $39 for the panniers = $918. Received shipping confirmation on Tuesday November 26th ... have been tracking and will arrive Monday December 3rd... The panniers arrived separately on Friday November 29th .... I am impressed with the expediency.. I have only created and posted a few poorly produced and embarrassing attempts at making videos .. never been a camera person either behind the lens or in front of the lens.... I will attempt to make yet another Lectric XP video series.. with maybe a different perspective on how it works for the severely orthopedically challenged and older individuals out there. the Channel is Geezer Life ruclips.net/channel/UCm86hx8x4QV4g2vebh5p2fA?view_as=subscriber PS. This guy... Jeremiah Mcintosh has a video .. posted 2 days ago ... where he shows 2 other settings on the controller aside from the P08 to 45 setting that I haven't seen anywhere else, to configure the Lectric XP bike to become a class 3 bike and acheive the 28 mph or the maximum capabilities of the motor.... ruclips.net/video/Hsm2tpU_xIM/видео.html at the 2:55 mark. I don't know if these settings are in the manual or not ... and I haven't seen these settings in any other videos... so I thought I would pass the information along. Keep up the great work guys and stay warm.
the video review of the ebike brand is great and very helpful and most especially the head protective gear. what else can I say other than I thought you folks are indeed a very gorgeous couple!!
I have COPD and the bike has been a god send to help get me out and about outside. I bought one of there "comfort seats" from Lectric and it's about useless. The holes to mount the saddle bags on to the rack where welded on at an angle, and the threads where so poor I had to retap them. Some friends of mine bought two of them and on there first ride before they even got home they had sold two more to people that they had stopped to talk to. The funny part is the couple that order them are work out nuts and already owned high dollar mountain bikes. I agree if they had of just used Velcro straps to attach it, and added a carrying handle, or better yet a shoulder strap to the saddle bags it would make it handier to carry it around.
Thanks for the review. You said that one of the most common questions you get is, "How far will it go?" You talked about range but you never answered the question. Yes, it depends on a number of things, such as how you ride and where you ride and how much you weigh and even your tire pressure. But you could actually answer the question. How far can YOU go the way YOU ride. Give us a typical case for you, or what is the farthest you have ridden on one charge? Do you get 5 miles to the charge or 50? It's a good question and deserves a good answer. Saying "it depends" is a copout. I enjoy your videos.
Have you considered adding rear view mirrors to the end on the handle bars? We think that will be our first upgrade. Have you tried riding without PAS. I tried and even in the lowest gear it felt I had an anchor behind me with I hit a slight incline. Not sure if it’s due to the weight on the rear or the size of tires or the motor causing some drag when deactivated. However, going down hill without peddling or throttle the bike picks up speed, I was going close to 25mph before I started to apply the brakes. Our brakes don’t squeak yet but they feel a little rough. If the pads get Glazed that may cause them to squeak. I’m sure there are better pads that could be installed. Do you have a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Maybe you could do a short video of loading, tying the bikes down and then removing the bikes. Thanks.
I ran out of battery and had to peddle unassisted for about 7 miles. It’s was a bit of a chore, but doable. We have a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. I tried to fold both and put them in the cargo area but couldn’t secure them well enough. I ended up putting one in the cargo area and one in the back seat. It’s a bit of a pain but it works. I’m stiff-arming the idea of getting a bike rack as it’s just another thing to take care of. Plus, we like the bikes being protected from the elements and sticky fingers by securing them in the Jeep.
Love this video and the helmets with the intercoms. Reminds me of our Harley helmets. We can talk to each other and other bikes. We will have to get these!!
@@LyfUninterrupted 1 for me, 1 for my wife, 1 for our daughter, and 2 more for my elderly parents. We have a pusher RV and wanted to bring the bikes with on trips.
Thanks for the review. we are in the market will look into these bikes. Exactly what we were looking for a big tires and compact I'm about your size Bryan so I'm hoping I'm going to be comfortable on the bike. I think those helmets are a must awesome. Stay safe hope to run into you guys on the road someday
If you want a really comfortable ride with those better seats get the Venzo suspension seat post. I have a Swagtron EB-8 with mechanical discs and they are very good. No noise and really stop the bike easily from 37 mph and on really steep downhills in the woods. I added a 3000 watt midmotor. The calipers on the brakes are Z Star.
Shawna and Brian thank you so much for sharing this video. Very informative. Truly enjoyed it. Wanted to ask you have you guys installed any rear view mirrors? Greeting from Minneapolis
Hi Bobby! Thanks for tuning in. We use a small mirror that attaches to our helmets. It's in the Bike Gear section of our Amazon Store. www.amazon.com/shop/lyfuninterrupted.
I imagine that some people would buy and E bike and not think about using a local bike shop as a resource. None of your dislikes aren't anything that can't be easily solved by upgrading or handled with a 15mm pedal wrench. They're sold at a price point which explains the rough mechanical disc brakes. Better hydraulic brakes could always be installed. Thank you for the review, I am thinking of buying one for my wife so we can go on rides together.
Ebikes are much more mainstream now, so many bike shops do know how to repair and maintain them. Let us know if you get one for your wife. We’re sure she’ll love it. Thanks for watching!
We got our new bikes this week. The bikes were well padded with packing materials and arrived in good condition. They are a lot of fun to ride. Other than climbing a long grade to a ridge top cemetery, I found PAS1 and gear 3 worked well. Mixed thoughts on the saddle bags. My wife is going to work on a modification for a faster on/off connection.
As an update: I now have over 70 miles on my Lectric. It has exceeded my expectations for the price point. I did upgrade to a Bikaroo seat for more comfort. We are using a two bike carrier on the truck for transport. Even folded the bikes are a bit heavy and bulky to easily be stored in our Class A.
Overdrive Sport 2 Bike Rack. It is $212.49 on Amazon. The rack works well, but with both bikes you are near the carry limit. Tilt capability makes is easier to get the inside bike into position. Hollywood (around $440 on Amazon) also makes a good rack that works for fat tire bikes.
Did you assemble the bikes or were they shipped assembled? 2 back surgeries & knee surgery & getting ready too go full time RVers. Looking for our 4th coach, preowned.Enjoy your suggestions.
Hi Patricia! Exciting news. Congratulations on your decision to become full-timers. The bikes come fully assembled and ready to go. However, the batteries will need to be charged completely before your first ride, which takes a couple of hours if memory serves. The bike weighs about 65 pounds, so you may want to check with your Doctor before trying to lift them. Thanks for watching!
We got ours last week and we ( wife and myself) love them. We are able to ride as a couple now and enjoy the time together versus struggling to get back from a long ride. Looking forward to taking them with us to Jekyll island to cruise the trails and beach. I agree with all your points. One thing I don’t like for safety reasons is the “walk” feature. When you hold the down arrow button the bike goes into walk mode. It’s just too easy to accidentally engage it and the bike will just start moving, which happened to me in the garage and the bike started to run up the side of the car. Asked Lectric support how to turn the feature off and they said its not possible. Also great customer support as my chainring was damaged on arrival and I had a replacement crank in two days.
@@LyfUninterruptedwe just picked up a pair of the Sena helmets--they are awesome! Thanks for talking about them, I wasn't aware of them and I am usually up on tech. Nice design and the noise cancellation is the best feature. I can speak quietly and she still hears me when we are riding at a good speed.
I loved your review and I am looking at purchasing aery similar setup. I have seen enough reviews that I am not particularly concerned with the range even though the battery is on the small side. I also live in South Carolina and I will be 75 soon and I am considering getting 2 of the Lectric XP Step Thru models so I can fold them up and hopefully transport then in my Toyota Rav4. I have yet to see a video of anyone actually putting 2 of them side by side in a small SUV but at 63 pounds they don't come much lighter. I think the most important upgrade for me will be a Cloud 9 seat with a flexible seat post and a phone holder. The other item I've seen is a small electric pump with a USB port that can double as a phone charger and a velcro bag for it that can attach to the battery housing. I was particularly glad to hear your review of the helmet. It seems that most of the competition focuses on fancy lights and barely mentions communication. I plan to ride in the daylight so lights don't interest me. I would love to get some ideas of where you have gone with your bikes. Nobody wants to see an entire bike ride but a few highlights would be great. I have subscribed even though I'm not into RV living in hope of seeing the bikes in action.
Hi Bill! Check out our other channel videos. There are several that feature bike rides in many places around the country. City streets, off-road, beaches, forest trails, etc. Thanks for watching!
We've had our Bagi bikes for about a year and just passed 1000 miles. We've biked State parks all over Florida as well as trails and trips to the grocery. We bike almost every day and love the ease of exercising this way.
Terrific review. Clear, concise with excellent tips and auxiliary products. Really appreciate the communications helmet. And I’ll certainly check that every nut and bolt is tight when we get ours. Thanks!
Got one just few weeks ago. I have ridden it every day missed 1 day. Super fun! No real complaints about it so far but I'm definitely going to check it over especially the pedals thanks
You two are awesome! We love your videos with your honest evaluations and opinions. My wife and I received our XP's last and are in the process of "getting to know " them. We're very happy with our bikes and look forward to many miles ahead. We like the upgrades to the panniers and helmets, those might be in the near future for us too. I was wondering what type of locks you chose to use? I know no lock is perfect and with so much discussion on the forums about locks it seems hard to choose. Your input would be helpful! Thanks again for your great entertaining and informative videos! Happy Trails!
@@LyfUninterrupted Hi! sorry for not replying sooner, we are in the PG&E power shutoff zone in Northern California and have been without electricity and WIFI for two days! Anyway, we're still getting to know our bikes but we did add mirrors and more comfy seats (Cloud 9 through Amazon). I am also using Commander 44 gal plastic totes (saw it on RUclips) to pack both of our folded bikes into the back of our RAV4. The totes keep the bikes from rattling around while hauling. I like the clip on panniers that you featured so that's in the near future! Other than that we're keeping the bikes pretty stock for now. Cheers!
For the squeaky rear brakes you can buy some Grimeboss hand wipes on eBay . I wiped both sides of the disk and the squeaks went away for awhile, had to wipe them again but it does work even if it is temporary, I think it's because the disk picks up oil and dirt while riding. anyway, Grimeboss hand wipes are great for getting that grease off your hands !
@@LyfUninterrupted I just replace my Brake pads for New "RESIN" Bicycle Brake Pads and problem solved, are cheap and last a long time, on ebay or Amazon it's easy to replace them. Remember RESIN brake, not metallic. 😉✌
cannot wait till ours come. my husband has an prosthetic and rides mountain bikes, but this will be great. one question. can you put clips on the bike? my honey is a below the knee amputee
Hi Dana! You could add pedal clips, but as a previous road bike rider I wouldn’t recommend them for this type of bike. Perhaps a toe cage would work better.
We have a pair of the Sena R1`s and we love them. It is so nice to be able to communicate with one another when out together or stream music when riding alone.
@@LyfUninterrupted We were fortunate to find them on sale for 20% off from Erik`s, so I think they were 105 a piece. They were originally about the same price as Amazon. I think they are worth the price given all that you get.
Do you have any videos of how you get these bikes into your Jeep? We have a 2013 Jeep Wrangler (4dr) that we tow with our motorhome and would like to do the same thing and are hoping they will fit in our jeep rather than a bike rack. Great review and Thanks!
Hi dave! Check out our video, Travel Day Mishap, to see how I load the bikes in our Jeep. ruclips.net/video/ERMtHKPXmTQ/видео.html. One bike goes in the cargo area sideways and the other goes in the back seat. It's doesn't show how we secure them, but I use ratchet straps on both bikes. Hope this helps.
Does the lack of suspension really hurt your experience? Was considering this, or a Sondors Fold XS which has full suspension, but it's almost double the price... :-\
Hi! 10months later and I'm real curious if you ran into any other major problems with the bike mechanical or electrical. Please I'd like to know I plan on ordering the bike in a few weeks. Thanks 😊!
Hi Momo! We have not experienced any significant issues with our bikes. The brake pads are a wear item and will need to be changed soon, but no issues other than that. Thanks for watching. Be sure to let us know what you think of your bike!
After watching your lectric XP videos we purchased a pair to carry in our 5th wheel. Also ordering the blue tooth helmets as well as some of the other upgrades through you amazon links.
Quick question...which seat did you get from Amazon the regular or the one for seniors and do you know what the difference is? I don't see a real difference indicated on Ammyzon. THANKS for your continued videos on the bikes. WE LOVE OURS, but similar my wife too has had two "mishaps." One while trying to turn around in a tight space. The front fire went 90 degree to the bike and it went down ULTRA fast, so please be ware of that little "issue" I assume is amplified by the weight distribution on the bike. The second one was a standing still tired after a ride issue and just fumbled the bike and toppled. Both minor injuries other than pride and she insists she will get back on the "horse" because she loved riding it so much.
Thanks for watching and for asking about the seats. We purchased the regular seat. it seems that both are similar, but I think the "senior version might be a bit wider. Hopefully your wife will continue to enjoy her bike.
@@LyfUninterrupted Thanks! I'm sure she will. My friend and I did some pretty rough riding on trails and while I do say it would be more fun with suspension, I think for the vast majority of our riding on streets and trails, it will be perfectly acceptable. THANKS for the quick reply!
We just got our two XPs a couple of days ago. I’m still checking things out with just my bike. We are full timers too and are currently in Zion NP. I’m concerned with getting flat tires as this time of year thorns are a big issue here. I’ve only ridden mine around the campground loop for a quick test. I don’t think the tires are puncture resistant and they have tubes. Are you using a product like Slime for puncture protection. Removing the rear wheel looks to be a pain to patch the inner tube. We have to fold our bikes to carry them around in the back of our Toad, a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. We have to put the back seats down and both bike barely fit into the back side by side with the wheel against the rear door. I’m afraid they will get all scratched up so I’m using some of the foam padding that came in the shipping box placed between the bikes and the Jeep interior to prevent the bikes from scratching the Jeep interior. I’ve purchased a yoga mat and plan to cut it up into squares to replace the shipping foam because it squeaks when it rubs against the bikes driving down rougher roads. I had to adjust the derailleur on one bike as the guard was jammed against it during shipping. I also had to adjust the brake cables because the levers went almost all the way down to the handle to get maximum pressure. Haven’t noticed much noise but I imagine the pads must be seated so we are not doing any heavy braking yet. Some time when getting the bikes into the Jeep the pedal move and jam up against the frame. Having to fold the bike to get the battery out is a pain. The key access at the bottom of the frame makes it hard to insert the key when the bike is folded as there is a cable/wire bundle you have to push aside to get the key into the lock. I’ve had to insert the battery into the bike then unfold it, then the bike is at a better angle to get the battery key inside the hole. You have to be careful the battery doesn’t slide out when unfolding the bike. I notice on one bike the battery is a tighter fit then the other bike. I’m also concerned with possibly damaging the LCD panel on the handle bars and snagging any wires when storing the bikes in the Jeep. There is a gap between the folded seats and the rear deck so we have a couple of old 2x3 carpet mats to help support the bike frame stand the front frame rests on when folded. I consider a Rad Mini but the XP included fenders s but the price/performance point of the XP was hard to beat, especially when buying two. Subscribed.
Thanks for sharing, Would of been super kool if those helmets would of came with blinking lights and then to talk to it on command, Helmet left turn. nonetheless I will be picking up a pair and make sure to use your link. Thanks again.
Loved the video but could you post another video going into more detail on how you secure your ebikes when out and about. You mentioned they were locked up as you ate and saw many people looking at them. Also adding any recommendations on specific locks you are using would be helpful as well.
I watched the video they made that tells you to check the pedals. I checked them. I don’t recall now which one needed just a tiny bit of tightening, but... the right one came out. Damage done. Waiting for a new one. Made a temporary replacement so I could ride with battery only! Argh.
Awesome bike. I love riding mine. I get excellent mileage and i keep it on PA1... I hope you don't need to call customer service because even though they're quick and prompt to answer and talk to you, getting them to send you broken or missing parts is a nonwinnable battle.. They suck at that. But the bike is awesome.
The helmets are nice like how you can talk to one another with them. The company I work for used to make battery packs for Ebikes.i like the colors of the helmets. I will watch the video on the bikes by hitting the link below. Thank you so much Shawna and Brian.
Hi Mario. Using this bike for food delivery would be awesome, but be sure to check your state and local laws regarding the use of electric bikes for this purpose. Thanks for watching.
Will this bike fit into a class c side door? (Either folded or open). Is this throttle- controlled? How about theft- control? Thanks for the info....great video.
Hmmm...not sure but you can go to Lectric’s website to find the folded dimensions. The bike is pedal-assist or it can be controlled with throttle only. In PA mode the bike can reach a max speed of 28 mph. In throttle only mode it will only reach 20 mph. There is no anti-theft device on the bike so we would recommend a good double lock combination. Check out our Amazon shopping site for recommended locks. www.amazon.com/shop/lyfuninterrupted
Lyf Uninterrupted Thank you for the swift reply. My door entrance is about 27 inches and one of the dimensions on their site is 18”, so I’m thinking it should fit thru it. I have a bike rack but not sure I can lift 65 lbs. four feet up, plus, don’t think it will sit correct on cradle. I gotta get this bike somehow. I don’t want to tow a car, but I’m stuck going nowhere. Thank you again. Definitely subscribed.
Thanks also for the Sena mention. I added a Sena Bluetooth communications device to my motorcycle helmet in 2016 and it's the better for me than anything before it. The price seems very reasonable, especially considering it's integrated into the helmet and "no assemble required".
Having worked in manufacturing for more than 20+ years I can tell you that the hinge systems seem to be very robust. This said, I’m not sure if Lectric did any accelerated stress or fatigue testing to simulate years or folding/unfolding.
Hi, mechanically, I would not be concerned about the hinges. Time will tell if the electrical contacts wear down over time and start to cause poor battery connections … but that could take years and years to happen and is dependent upon how many times the XP is folded/unfolded.
@@TimCatZ I've (Brian) had mine up to 31.5 mph! That's probably an anomaly though as I was peddling my but off! Jury is still out on range, but I'd say we average 35 miles.
@@LyfUninterrupted sorry, I meant to say that's the most common questions we get while riding ours. I've only managed to top out at 29mph downhill fast as my old legs would spin...hehehe. 31.5 is dang impressive!
I'm considering the purchase of the Lectric bike and enjoyed this review. It answered most of the questions I had and I liked the review of the Sena helmet. Thanks loads.
I'm getting our new Lectric XP ready for our Florida trip. I noticed your handle bar extension in the video didn't look like the one you linked under the video description, is there something modified about yours or am I looking at it wrong? I'm needing a single clamp handlebar extension that will work on the right side of the handle bars for a small smart phone.
What tools do I need to make sure everything is tightened correctly? Am I better off just taking it to a bike repair before I ride it the first time? I never worked on bikes before is it complicated? The extension for the phone is cool and the helmet, I think I will do both. Thanks for the great informative video.
Thanks! If your not familiar with bikes I would recommend taking it to a bike shop. The should be able togo over everything for about $25. You’ll love the helmets!
I've put 130 miles on my XP since I got it in late September; it's a joy to ride, and I don't push it very hard. Have ridden on dirt and on the street; performs just as expected. I too have some dislikes about the bike but relatively minor. The biggest annoyance is that the odometer has a 20% error - when I ride 1 mile, the bike registers .8. The USED to be a setting to correct this, but Lectric has locked it so it cannot be adjusted and they have no fix for it at this time. Rick in Las Cruces NM
Rick Black Thats awesome news! We’re glad you getting good use out your bike. Sounds like Lectric may be getting tired of people messing with the settings then calling customer service to help fix them??
They have listened to me but have not offered any option to fix the odometer error. Hopefully I'm one of the few that's affected. I sure wish the readings were more accurate. That said, I usually ride at PAS 1 or 2 and i'm getting about 50 miles between charges, which is just what is advertised, so I'm pretty pleased with that. I can't wait for warmer weather to keep riding - when it's above 60º I try to ride at least 4 miles a day, if only to drive out to the Rio Grande and back home :)
@@LyfUninterrupted Thanks for the leads on the added equipment you have purchased. The bluetooth helmet is a great idea; wish I'd heard about it before I popped $75 for my new helmet. And the Bikaroo seat sounds very cool; the stock XP seat isn't real comfortable for me (6'1 and 155 pounds) and my skinny butt gets "tired" quickly :)
Another question for you two! You mentioned you’ve taken the bikes in the sand? How was that experience and how difficult was it cleaning the chain and derailleur? Thx! Scott
So glad I viewed this great video. Wife and I ride RadRover and RadCiti, but communicating is a problem, especially to warn of dangers. That Sena R1 looks very interesting. I like your honest videos and your recommendations.
Have you had occasion to use customer service? How good is their customer service. If you have a problem with the motor who do you have fix it? Once you ordered the bikes how long did it take to get them? Thank you for your review. We are about to pull the trigger to buy a couple of these just getting all the info we can before.
Thanks for the great questions. We haven’t had the need to contact customer service, but we’ve heard from others that they are very responsive. As for the motor, you could probably take it to any bike shop. We were on pre-order so it took about a month or so before we revived ours. Now, they are shipping on demand so the wait time is probably less. You can contact them to check in that. Thanks for watching.
Hi there my name is Abel. Just want to say thank you for the great info on the Lectric bikes.... I also want to ask you guys how is the comfort without having shocks on the bike? I’m really interested in buying a pair of bikes for me and my wife. Hopefully y’all can make a video on the comfort of the bikes for all to learn from you both. Thanks for the video and for the wisdom. Be save and alert.
Great video! I’m envious of your lifestyle! Two questions, do you think you would appreciate a suspension fork in the front and/or a suspension seat post? Also, have you considered upgrading your flywheel to a 11-28 tooth giving you less of a “hamster wheel” effect? Thanks!
Thanks! The bike (and rider) would definitely benefit from suspension forks and seat post. Many people have opted for a seat post. We haven't considered changing the sprocket.
Great video. I've watched a couple about this Lectric XP and after yours, have decided this will be the one. Thanks. These would have been great on Fehmarn!

I just got my Lectric delivered while watching this video.
we ordered 2 a week ago thanks for the video !! taking them to our cabin in pigeon forge ,tn!!
Nice! Let us know when you get them!
How long did u wait for the bike to arrive?
Absolutely love my Lectric XP. Bought two of them. Have about 122 miles on mine so far. Getting ready to do some mods (rear view mirrors, utility bar for the handle bar). And -- the customer service I've received from this company is literally the *best* consumer experience I have ever had. These guys absolutely rock it.
We agree. They are super helpful and responsive.
That's awesome! Thanks for watching Tracy!
Excellent! We're glad it was helpful. Have fun on your bikes!
My situation exactly and I couldn't have said it better or agree more.
👍
I had the same loose left pedal. But I did go over the bike and tighten them before riding. I read that these pedals have nylon bushings. They can cause friction until they break in. Lectric sent me a new left crank arm right away. Great customer service. We love ours.
Glad to hear lectric is taking care of the customer.
It was a pleasure meeting you today and giving us your opinion on this bike. As I said when we were speaking, I ordered mine a few and can’t wait to ride!!. Made sure we subscribed as well!! Thanks, Alan & Andi
Thank you, Alan and Andi! We appreciate your support. Be sure to let us know when you get your bike. We’ll be here until November 13th.
Awesome! Be sure to let us know when you get them!
Just got mine 4 days ago! You picked the right one. I’m having a blast with it.
Just got our bikes! Had to go back and find this video, I was really looking for the Sena Helmet Info! I think I saw this vid a year ago? Thank you! Thomyt
Nice! How do you like them so far? The Sena helmets are really nice. Sena released two new models not too long ago, so be sure to look at those too!
David F Thanks for the nice compliment! How do you like Outflow?
@@LyfUninterrupted We love it! We live 75 minutes away, gives us someplace close to home. Biking , fishing, quiet little town and campground. also, our bikes finally came in, put them together but haven't ridden yet, tomorrow we will ride. Thanks for the reply and your vids.
@@davidf2172 How was your first ride?
@@LyfUninterrupted , great! we only rode for 2 miles since it was dusk and getting dark quickly, but it was also cold. lol, wish we had received them sooner and they forgot to send our panniers, which I called about. so far we love the bikes. Thanks
David F That’s great to hear!
Terry
Hi Terry! We’re glad you enjoy what we do.
I have researched about sand and snow with 4 inch tires. Some people lower pressure in tires to 10 or 15 for snow!
Ordered two bikes a week ago. Mine gets delivered tomorrow! Feel like kids again. Looking forward to traveling in our motorhome with them for lots of exploring. Great video. A big help!
Thank you! Let us know what you think of the bikes!
How long did u wait for the bike to arrive?
Bought two of these today, one black and one white! Waiting patiently for their arrival. Looking forward to getting acclimated to them and a few upgrades as well. Thanks for the great review!
Thank you! Be sure to let us know when you get them. We'd be interested to know your thoughts.
Love this CONTENT!!! Now my honey can budget for them AND THE HELMET WOW!!! GAME CHANGER! Love y’all! Have a LoveLeigh RV Life💚

Awesome video guys! You’re so sweet together and tons of useful info. Placed my order last night!
Awesome! Thank you!
You two are precious. I ordered a 2.0 April 17th. Waiting for delivery.
Thanks! You're going to love the bikes!
How long did u wait for the bike to arrive?
Great presentation of the XP. Thinking about buying one but I'm still looking into if they are legal in NYS and NYC. They can sell them in NY but it's the throttle and motor size will determine if they are legal to use.
Thank you!
28 miles an hour equals class 3, that's 28 miles an hour with pedal assist and throttle
Once you remove the Restriction so that it's able to go 28 miles an hour you must remove the class 2 sticker and reveal the class 3 that is beneath it
I have had a total knee and found the pedal rotation too tight for me. I can only use it as a fully electric bike. We absolutely love the adventure factor it provides and will be buying a second one. Thanks for telling us about the communication helmets. That will really improve our rides.
You will love the helmet! Thanks for watching and good luck with the knee!
Crank shorteners might help the rotation issue
Just ordered 2 on the “Black Friday Special” and watched your video. So thankful for your clear and honest information. We will be diligent with the nuts and bolts because of your warning. I am going to have my daughter come here to order the helmets for our Christmas presents. (She always wants a suggestion and it’s less $ than her idea.) If you ever come to Sanlan RV Park in Florida, we might get to thank you in person.
You two are an awesome couple made for each other thank you very much for the information I've been thinking very hard about getting one of those and most definitely and leaning forward to get the same experience you guys are having again thank you very much I truly appreciate all the information you have passed on too me
Our pleasure!
Yikes! Thanks for tuning in!
Thanks for update - we just ordered 2 Lectric XP Nike’s and can’t wait to try them. Great tip on those helmets too - might be our first upgrade. Enjoy your rides!
Good call Cathy! Let us know what you think about the bikes.
I just got my xp step threw. Really enjoying it. Got about 50 miles on mine already. I upgraded the headlight.
👍
How is it? Is it necessary to add suspension on the ebike? What else did you upgrade on your ebike?
Thanks for the video. Have not bought yet but will for the holidays 2020.
👍
You Guys started me on my research path for an electric bike that fit my criteria.
Long Story Short .... I ordered the Lectric XP it will arrive on December 3rd.
The only Con I could find about this bike that didn't fit my personal criteria
was the stiff front end forks. That said, my #1 criteria was Foldable and most other foldable bikes cannot compare to the other specs of this bike. Keep up all the Great WORK you guys do.
And, Thanks for the review. ANNNNND all the goodies links :)
Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas !!
WOW! What a great compliment. Please let us know what you think about the bike once you get it! Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas!

Geezer Life Just saw your post! Thanks for the info!
the video review of the ebike brand is great and very helpful and most especially the head protective gear. what else can I say other than I thought you folks are indeed a very gorgeous couple!!
Thank you for the compliment!
Sorry to learn about your affliction. We’re glad to hear your bike is helping you to get out there and enjoy life!
Thanks for the review. You said that one of the most common questions you get is, "How far will it go?"
You talked about range but you never answered the question.
He Keith. This is a “damned if you do, domed if you don’t” situation. Thanks for watching and we appreciate knowing you enjoy our videos!
Let us know how you like them! Thanks for watching!
We bought 5 of these and could not be happier, great bikes!
WOW! Why 5, if you don’t mind me asking?
@@LyfUninterrupted 1 for me, 1 for my wife, 1 for our daughter, and 2 more for my elderly parents. We have a pusher RV and wanted to bring the bikes with on trips.
Nice that you could do that for your parents!
The helmets are a game changer for sure!
Gerald Koth Great Info! Thanks for your recommendations.
We agree. Ours were well packed too as you could see in our first video. What's the furthest you've ridden so far?
As an update: I now have over 70 miles on my Lectric. It has exceeded my expectations for the price point. I did upgrade to a Bikaroo seat for more comfort. We are using a two bike carrier on the truck for transport. Even folded the bikes are a bit heavy and bulky to easily be stored in our Class A.
Been thinking about getting a bike rack. Which one did you go with? Any concern with them being stolen off the rack?
Overdrive Sport 2 Bike Rack. It is $212.49 on Amazon. The rack works well, but with both bikes you are near the carry limit.
Tilt capability makes is easier to get the inside bike into position. Hollywood (around $440 on Amazon) also makes a good rack that works for fat tire bikes.
thank you so much. nothing like a testimony from them that's been there!
Thanks for watching! We’re glad you enjoyed the video.
Yeah, that walk mode feature will get you if you're not ready for it. Same thing happened to me but it started to climb the garage wall. haha
@@LyfUninterruptedwe just picked up a pair of the Sena helmets--they are awesome! Thanks for talking about them, I wasn't aware of them and I am usually up on tech.

Glad we could help. Which upgrade do you think you’ll get first?
You two are awesome! We love your videos with your honest evaluations and opinions. My wife and I received our XP's last and are in the process of "getting to know " them. We're very happy with our bikes and look forward to many miles ahead. We like the upgrades to the panniers and helmets, those might be in the near future for us too. I was wondering what type of locks you chose to use? I know no lock is perfect and with so much discussion on the forums about locks it seems hard to choose. Your input would be helpful! Thanks again for your great entertaining and informative videos! Happy Trails!
Thank you! Such a great compliment! Do you think you’ll upgrade anything?

Do you have any videos of how you get these bikes into your Jeep? We have a 2013 Jeep Wrangler (4dr) that we tow with our motorhome and would like to do the same thing and are hoping they will fit in our jeep rather than a bike rack. Great review and Thanks!

Great video guys! Would you recommend the bike for taller riders? I'm 6'4. Many thanks!
Hi Ken. Our son is 6’4 and is able to ride the XP just fine. Thanks for watching!
Does the lack of suspension really hurt your experience? Was considering this, or a Sondors Fold XS which has full suspension, but it's almost double the price... :-\
Not really, no. The fat tires add a lot of cushion if deflated a bit. Thanks for watching!
Hi! 10months later and I'm real curious if you ran into any other major problems with the bike mechanical or electrical. Please I'd like to know I plan on ordering the bike in a few weeks. Thanks 😊!

No worries, safe travels.
Subscribed.
Wow! Sounds like you have things dialed in!
Great review can you give me the info on the bike rack?
Hi Beth. We haven’t bought a bike rack yet as we haven’t found one that can handle the weight of two bikes very well.
Thanks for sharing, Would of been super kool if those helmets would of came with blinking lights and then to talk to it on command, Helmet left turn. nonetheless I will be picking up a pair and make sure to use your link. Thanks again.
Yes! That would be cool. Thanks for watching and we appreciate you shopping our Amazon store!
Loved the video but could you post another video going into more detail on how you secure your ebikes when out and about. You mentioned they were locked up as you ate and saw many people looking at them. Also adding any recommendations on specific locks you are using would be helpful as well.
👍
Watching your video helped me to convince my wife to order 2 Lectric bikes last week. Thanks!
That’s awesome! Let us know what you think about them.
Loved your video! Very informative! Two thumbs up!
And I think the helmets are pretty cool too!
Thanks Derek!
Thank you so much for posting. I enjoy your videos.
Glad you like them!
I think the cruise control feature is the best. Works great and you are right about the seat, first thing to upgrade.
We agree!
I watched the video they made that tells you to check the pedals. I checked them. I don’t recall now which one needed just a tiny bit of tightening, but... the right one came out. Damage done. Waiting for a new one. Made a temporary replacement so I could ride with battery only! Argh.
Glad to see Lectric put out a video. Is Lectric sending you a replacement?
@@LyfUninterrupted Not yet. They say I am on a "log" whatever that is. It's been a few weeks. I'll have to email them and remind them.
We agree! I’m sure they will improve the CS. Don’t think they expected the bikes to be such a big hit.
The helmets are nice like how you can talk to one another with them. The company I work for used to make battery packs for Ebikes.i like the colors of the helmets. I will watch the video on the bikes by hitting the link below. Thank you so much Shawna and Brian.
👍
Just ordered one! Xp in black.. would like to vinal wrap it black/red camo
Nice! Bet that would look cool.
Appreciate the thorough review. How tall are you? Do you think this bike would work for someone who is 6'3"?
Hi Adam. Brian is 6’2, so the bike should fit you just fine.
Do you guys think that the bike can be used for food delivery? Thats the main reason im interested in purchasing one.
Hi Mario. Using this bike for food delivery would be awesome, but be sure to check your state and local laws regarding the use of electric bikes for this purpose. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the video and you being honest about the likes and dislikes, mine should be here soon.
Elisha's Repair and more Awesome! Be sure to let us know what you think about it!
Lyf Uninterrupted Sure thing!!
The helmets are top shelf BUT for minimal cost they could have/should have included a flashing strobe on the back for added safety .
Yes, that would be a nice feature. I've seen some that do have that.
We love ours. Thanks for watching!
Our question was what you mentioned, would the folding and unfolding within the wear and tear. They look very heavy duty and high quality.
Most popular question for me is "how fast will it go?" then "how far will it go?"
We’re glad it was helpful to you. Thanks for watching!
Ours will be delivered tomorrow! So excited.
That’s great! Let us know what you think when you get them.
Thanks for asking. The extension on the black bike is from Serfas and we purchased it from a bike shop, but there are many like it on Amazon.
Yea ive heard some good reviews on these bikes .But they look heavy and clunky . Will they still work in a year !
Hi Darrol. We passed the 1.0 versions along to family members and they are still going strong after 2 years of tough riding.
Great information, thanks. I’m wondering, after several months of use, is your opinion of the helmets still positive?
Hi Bill. We still think the helmets are great. Thanks for watching!
Hey wanted to know how to charge these bikes? Do you have to take the battery out to charge it?
Hi Becky! You can charge the batteries in or out of the bike.
Thinking about this bike, so this was really helpful. And the helmets, very cool.
Glad it was helpful! You'll love the helmets!
Thx! Scott
Hi Scott. Just a quick rinse with water followed by some dry lubricant works well.
So glad I viewed this great video. Wife and I ride RadRover and RadCiti, but communicating is a problem, especially to warn of dangers. That Sena R1 looks very interesting. I like your honest videos and your recommendations.
Hi Josef! We love ours! Be sure to let us know if you decide to buy them.
Can’t find the link to the helmet can you please repost it.
Hi Owen! You can find the helmet in our Amazon Store now. www.amazon.com/shop/lyfuninterrupted. Thanks for watching!
Thank you! We upgraded the seats to ones that offer a little more cushion. Other than that, we have no complaints.
As always, great videos guys!
Love how informative you guys are.
Also, those helmets are SO cool!
They sure are!
Ummm...you’ll have to do better than that if you want that bike! Hahaha
Lyf Uninterrupted huh??????
Great video! I’m envious of your lifestyle! Two questions, do you think you would appreciate a suspension fork in the front and/or a suspension seat post? Also, have you considered upgrading your flywheel to a 11-28 tooth giving you less of a “hamster wheel” effect? Thanks!
Thanks! The bike (and rider) would definitely benefit from suspension forks and seat post. Many people have opted for a seat post. We haven't considered changing the sprocket.
How heavy is the bike? Could you easily bring it up and down a flight of stairs?
The bike weights about 65 pounds with the battery. Removing the battery would reduce the weight about 10 pounds.
How about showing the folding bike folded?
Check out our first video.
Looks great. Good review. Q: can I charge it from a 12 volt source without inverting to 110 v AC then back to 12v DC?
Not that I’m aware of. Try reaching out to Lectric with the question. Perhaps they know of a DC charger you can use.
Great video. I've watched a couple about this Lectric XP and after yours, have decided this will be the one. Thanks. These would have been great on Fehmarn!
Tom Crombie Thanks for the compliment!
