Have driven one of these... it is crazy how fast and smooth the power comes on, can get a person into trouble very quickly if you are not expecting it!!
such a lovely gesture.. moving out of the fast lane when someone is coming through. Now if only fat Patricia can move her PoS car going 40 mph under the speed limit in the last lane would be nice in america
+Kellan Larson In Germany, its not a nice gesture, its the law. Which makes sense, because overtaking on the right is strictly forbidden. In combination, it usually makes for a pretty organized autobahn.
+Benedocta I also meant fast lane, not last lane. In America, we have idiots driving and those idiots feel the need to drive 50mph under the speed limit. It gives me relief to see that person moving for the car traveling 4 times its speed.... ahhhh bliss
interesting how virtually everyone else is driving at about 120kph. I can deffo see that this car met the requirements of 300kph whilst being able to converse, and obviously the a/c stuff. The 500ps with .27 cd is sublime, that is estimated to be only 6mph off 200mph.
There is this sort of lever in the car, hiding behind steering wheel. And when you press it, it magically let's other drivers know that you are changing lanes.

It already looks very stable at 270kph,how would you comment on this(how would you describe the sensation?),especially in comparison with other cars you've been in?
Hey Mate!!! tis a great sound and experience!!! hey i have been researching more and more about W12 engines and most of the places on internet peeps are complaining and cursing that their W12 Audi took their entire pocket for maintenance(regarding performance) and still poor economy, poor economy...Still i am stubborn to get myself a W12 for me very soon no matter if engine is thirsty or what ..i will post his probs with his W12...I am in confusion and shock that is the amazing W12 troubling peeps? below is the guy's experience with his W12 i picked from discussion thread..So tell me what you say?
(Here is that guy's experience he posted in those threads!!!) Quick short summary of me owning my W12. Facts: 2007 6.0L W12. Owned for about a year, put around 30-35k on the vehicle. The car came fully loaded, every single option, fridge included. The main advantage of the W12 is obviously the engine, the backup cam, and the nice leather everywhere. The rear seat room, TV's and fridge sure were very nice, but me being a single guy with no family the rear seats were rarely used and when they were it was a friend/family member sitting in back pushing every single button annoying the hell out of me ! From owning the car at 40k - 75k, I put about 3.5k +/- into simple and unavoidable maintenance. Not preventative maintenance. This included new air strut; Arnott, $1200 installed - $300 core refund. $1100 coolant sensor replacement (partially drop engine and tranny). $800 +/- to have the bluetooth module replaced and the coolant drained/refilled (was super dirty). $200 MMI update to newest FW. I also had the A/C recharged as the cold that would come out was absolutely laughable. What was a shame was the car was completely maintained and on time before I bought the car. Mind you all the repairs I had done, were shopped around for the best price/quality of fix. Outside of maintenance I also put in quite a bit of money into making the car the way I wanted it: Tint - $400, upgraded fogs - $40, wheel spacers - $200+/-, hardwire radar detector - $75. Install AMI unit from previous car - $350 initially (second half of 2007 had the AMI, don't think this applied to W12 though). All of that sounds negative I know, but honestly looking back it was a lot of time spent in and out of dealerships, indy shops, and online diagnosing and shopping around. The experience of owning the car (when it worked) was amazing though. When someone actually knew what the car was they were amazed they saw it. Although, I almost always had to explain what the car was and point it out. Not once, not one single time did anyone come up next to me at a stop light and try to race me. Happened all the time in my friends new mustang and my buddies SRT4, but never in the W12. It was disappointing because i would have smoked them, especially when it was wet out. I did get a lot of comments on the car when I went to a large Michigan wide Audi/VW meet. I also got random compliments or curious people at gas stations simply asking if it were a W12. I also, numerous times, had ignorant people approach me and say something along the lines of "oh yeah I was thinking of getting one of these" or "yeah my buddy has an A8 too" which in either case they didn't know what the car was (many of them were gas station attendants, since the W12 frequented the gas station so often haha), or the individual thought the car was the standard A8 (4.2). Many times I took it to Woodard in Michigan, or the Woodward dream cruise (biggest car cruise/meet in the nation), and only had a few comments on the car while hoopty cars next to mine that were lowered or had tinted headlights got a lot of attention. I did not buy this car to make others jealous or like the car, I bought it because it was very rare, and I appreciated the attention to detail, exclusivity, and overall joy the car brought to my face. Overall the car went widely unnoticed for the caliber and rarity that it was. So Pros/Cons: These are specific to the W12 itself. I am not going to state the great/bad features of the A8 in general. Pros: 1. W12 engine 2. Outrageous Torque 3. Interior quality (leather everywhere) 4. Paddle shifters from a standstill, I found them not so great to use as you're actually at speed then use the manual mode. 5. Stability at high speeds and pickup of the engine at high speeds. I could be going 95mph and punch it and it can very quickly and effortlessly climb to 130+ 6. Rarity/Exclusivity of the W12 engine and having a 12 cylinder car 7. Smoothest engine I've ever experienced. I could balance a pen straight up on the engine and it wouldn't fall. 8. Valcona leather was very nice over the standard A8 9. LED DRL's Cons 1. Maintenance Cost (HUGE) 2. Frequency of needing maintenance 3. Gas mileage. Absolutely awful (I expected this though). Not once did I ever get over 20mpg. Averaged about 11-13mpg on any trip less than 5 miles, and about 16mpg on trips that were longer with light traffic. 20mpg only on clear highways, but I could be going 70-90mph and get this figure, which was nice. 3. No bluetooth streaming options, yet it has all the other bells and whistles 4. Title/Registration cost!!!! In Michigan it was $600+, the DMV had to use the computer to look it up as it was out of their standard book. I believe it goes by the initial value of the car which was roughly $120k with around $20k of options on top of that. 5. Slight lag between hitting the gas pedal and it roaring up, many of my friends have noticed it, and my buddies W12 did it as well. My 4.2L had immediate response. 6. At times the car would be searching for a gear when it should have downshifted. This always happened around 3rd gear. 7. Extreme difficultly/inability to do any maintenance on the engine outside of cabin air, air filter, and minor maintenance outside of the engine. I'm sure I will edit/change things in the future, and I already do miss the car. Just today I was at a stoplight with an asshat in a new BMW 7 series, and another guy in a E series Merc. I just wanted to use that beautiful W12 and put them to shame. None the less I am happy with my decision to part ways. My main reason was financial concerns and down the road maintenance. Every-time I drove the car I was so happy and it was an absolute amazing experience to have the car. I feel this is a car that should be bought new and appreciated then. Buying it used/with high mileage you will spend a lot of your time playing catchup or maintaining the beast. This is outside of a few W12 owners who really are techy (MP4.2, BASRAB, and TShong). I feel like other people who want to buy a W12 most likely know nothing about the car and only want it because it is a big 12 cylinder Audi. Little do they know the crazy complexity and cost that comes with such a vehicle. That is why I love AW so much. It mainly is a tight knit group of dedicated owners who really do value and appreciate the vehicles. Now I didn't leave the Audi world, I still own that amazing 2005 4.2L with 116k (only minor issues) and I still love driving it. I recently bought a Lexus to replace the W12, and although they aren't even close in terms of vehicles or similarities, but I really do enjoy the car so far.
I mean, W12 engines are known for their smooth running/idling properties and reliability but also high gas mileage and maintenance cost. I don't have much experience witheliab the A8 W12, so this guy is way better informed than me.
+bio logisch the sport mode uses higher rpms. At speeds above 200 km/h the car is still in 5th gear. At higher speeds the car shifts into 6th (last gear) so it doesn't make a difference if it's in sport or drive.
tequilla1304 when you’re in S(sport) mode you can hold the rpm’s at a higher range making it easy to overtake other cars...so once he passed them up he just put it back to D(drive) mode to drive normally

the sport mode uses higher rpms. At speeds above 200 km/h the car is still in 5th gear. At higher speeds the car shifts into 6th (last gear) so it doesn't make a difference if it's in sport or drive.
Preraduje za jazdy automat? Dobryyy 😁

That wheel though. The pre-facelift looked better. Fuck I hate that 2005 era wheel.
can you test BMW 316i year 1999 pleese sorry for m'y Bad english i'm french
have you got your ESP turned on
+Jason Watson Yes, the ESP was active.
Bei wie viel kmh ist Schluss?
Hello there, can you explain why you shift from S to D what do you gain with this?
Thanks
tequilla1304 when you’re in S(sport) mode you can hold the rpm’s at a higher range making it easy to overtake other cars...so once he passed them up he just put it back to D(drive) mode to drive normally
This video must've cost over 100 euros of fuel to produced this video! A rare awesome Audi a8 luxury hi performance land yacht!

Fantastisches Kfz

Why does a w12 in a flying spur get that car to 330 km/h, but not this one????
Because the Flying Spur has a Bi-Turbo W12 with about 200hp more than this 08 naturally aspirated A8L W12
