What a treat. The great John Barbirolli conducting the great Boston S.O.. The only time I saw Barbirolli live was in 1968 in London. I was very young at the time but I've still got the programme! I cannot think of a single conductor today who could convey Haydn's mastery with the classical symphony as it's heard here - sublime!
