Helge Rosvaenge sings Nessun dorma in Italian (1939)
Sorry to disagree with everyone, maybe i just don't have the heightened musical sensitivity,as most listeners55 and though it a well written piece it lacks the sweep and dark feel
Bruckner played by the best orcestra and conductor…..
Is the entire performance with this quality available? I have it but the sound is really bad and some parts of act 3's 2nd scene are missing.
And leave it to Szell to insist on an old-fashioned snare drum with gut snares, even in the 1970s going out of fashion.
Magnifica Obra
Orchestra of stunning quantity and quality of sound
❤❤❤ Beautiful and Powerful
Also was genau ist die Quelle?
Absolut richtig!
After 20 years of studying music, he has become my favorite composer.
Sounds like Biber (1644-1704)
This is fantastic , Why isnt this better know. ?
Apparently the Q was not keen on this arrangement . "Are they allowed to do that to it ?" she asked.
Mravinsky is the Great!
I enjoyed hearing this. I like the way Szell keeps the pulse moving throughout the piece - he doesn't flag or get too caught up in the beautiful moments where the temptation might be to linger a touch too long. Some might find it a little too unsentimental, but I think it's just right.
Haydn wrote this great C-major Sinfonia (‘number 90’) during the summer of 1788 as a part of a 3-sinfonia contract for the Concerto pour le Loge Olympique in Paris commissioned by the Comte d’Ogny (which included Sinfonia Nr 91 in E-flat composed at roughly the same time that Mozart was composing his last three sinfonias (E-flat, g-minor & C-major) - these two giants transformed the Sinfonia into a new art form altogether - having started out as ‘opera overtures’ and Haydn was at the forefront of the rapid stylistic development of this genre (along with the String Quartet) in the 1780s & 1790s-what a glorious time for Western Art Music !!
🤩
Mix of sadness and angry feelings, deep complaint to God.....
Ok, I'm 3:33 into this Slavonic melodrama and I'm craving for Mozart's and Haydn's SUNSHINE.....click...
😍🎼❤️

What Great Master of Orchestration - P.I. Tchaikovsky.
Where are the lyrics?
Carlos V emperador del Sacro Imperio Romano Germánico y Rey de las Españas y sus Indias
This is the music I listen to in dangerous or difficult times. This gives me the same courage as Siegried when he killed Fafner using Notung.
un deleite para los sentidos
The most underrated symphony of all time. I've listened to it a dozen times or more- different recordings. Epic; sweeping; stark; stirring; beautiful; just everything.
Trump theme song
Perhaps. But a better choice may be "Entry of the Gladiators."
Sublime ♥
Thank you so much for posting this. My first time to hear this version, very beautiful and interesting.
That immediate alertness, precision, and "life" in the playing of the BSO here also routinely characterized the playing of the PSO under Steinberg (I first heard the PSO under Steinberg in concert in Pittsburgh in the fall of 1966). Neither orchestra necessarily played like that under other conductors, so we must attribute it to Steinberg himself. I wholeheartedly agree with the comments below that he was a very great conductor. When I feel like being thrilled, I still reach for his last movement of the Brahms 2 (see ruclips.net/video/XYB2OWnTiOY/видео.html, posted by Addiobelpassato, with some great archival photos of Steinberg).
Beautiful, masterpiece
It's rushed and misses all the delight and sunshine that is needed in Schubert. I don't like this performance.
22.53.Vic Firth!
Phenomenal. Tears.
This is it… I think I found it…. The greatest rendition to my ear…. It’s almost overwhelming…. That diction too, wow
Prom performance - a cracking overture.
