I'm only 33 years old so NO IM NOT OLD LOL... But if people only knew how hard it is to even get to regionals let alone the LLWS. I'm from Tampa Florida born and raised and in 2003 my all star team Tampa Bay little league was the talk of the city because we were loaded! The whole starting 9 played D1 baseball myself included and Kyle Tucker from the Astros? His older brother Preston Tucker who also played for Houston was our 1st baseman. I played 3rd base didn't make it to the big leagues but got drafted after my junior year in college, late late round 32nd round actually, mychal givens who played 10 years MLB was our shortstop, and others who played at big D1 schools. We ran through district, sectionals, and got to STATE and we ran into EAST BOYNTON BEACH LITTLE LEAGUE and lost 2-1 to them unfortunately. That team we lost too went to the LLWS and lost to Japan in the championship game and I remember like it was yesterday losing to them and watching them go that far knowing we should have beat them! Still bothers me! They had a pitcher Michael Broad who threw 83mph from 60ft and basically that's aroldis Chapman and unbelievable trust me. He played at university of Miami and he beat us up honestly. But we were SUPPOSED to go to at least regionals or Williamsport honestly, newspaper articles, hype, other coaches telling us we should go all the way, But remember there's always a team that is either better than you or knows how to win. Best little league team I've ever seen is the Hawaii team that jaron Lancaster recently played on.... No little league team is ever touching that squad period.
I've been involved in little League for 43 years!! The strength that So Cal and Hawaii had years ago was awesome!!! No way hawaii gets beat like this, Not even 10 years ago. So Cal teams were also the dominant teams in the West regionals!! Club ball has taken a lot of good baseball from little leagues. I played baseball in the 70's in So Cal, It was awesome!! It is great to see that the kids are still enjoying these very Important times in their young lives!! I wish every one of them the best!!! Bless!!!
Yes, I live in So Cal. Most of this best player at this age are not participating in this tournament. The team that prevails usually was able to grab the most players away from club ball.
The reason bei g alot of these little leagues and districts have done so much to "balance" everything and not allow any team to be too good (ie split big little leagues into 'two' and have 2 all star teams). The karen moms complain when their sons lose so stupid rules get put in place. I guarantee you the best teams are massive leagues with one super all star team.
I like Kyle Peterson’s comment on that homer in the bottom of the 5th 😂 “i can promise you that’s not his first home run” I would venture to to say he’s done that a time or two by the reaction
@@josecarlosgonzalez9446 As I was saying... Even though SoCal would probably win a 3 game series & do better in the LLWS, a 1 game championship favored Hawaii because their lefty can still dominate good lineups.

Yeah I gotta be honest, there are teams every year at this level that shock me in terms of the talent they have. They must have extremely competitive little leagues .

There's a reason for that... I actually played that little league around that area(ish definitely played in a different district) wayyyy back in the day. And well... There ain't much out there compared to a lot of so cal. Lot of people make fun of Norco, East Vale, and Chino as being "cow towns." They would be considered like... Small cities in the rest of the US, but in so cal, that's the middle of farmland and nothingness. Basically... It's not often they have exciting shit happen and they ain't really a map destination so they're probably hella proud of their boys for getting this far. BUT that being said, they had some REALLY good ball players. It's a crapshoot every year who gets through the meat grinder that is So Cal little league.
