perfection! i'm pro mohair, it makes perfect sausage curls. White lace is very good, but only very fine quality - coarse lace just ruins an otherwise wonderful doll. I'm surprised you didn't go into detail on single stroke eyebrows, paperweight glass eyes and the new trend in open mouths with teeth

Honestly I just wish they brought back that shiny green paint they used to put on the dolls makeup, they would really make their faces light up and I felt really elevated the quality of the dolls. It was also so nice when they glowed in the dark during dark stormy nights at our summer manor in rural England. It would be such a comfort when it would wield off the ghost of Aunt Elizabeth who haunts me every night to tell me about some misfortune that will fall upon the family because of her cousin husband’s (my uncle and brother) weird looking illegitimate son that went on a murder spree last summer because of the cruelty of his creator…. Anyways they keep saying its because some ladies faces started rotting away but I think thats just excuses bc toy companies keep cheaping out on quality products. Whats next? Stop using lead to produce that beautiful porcelain white skin that all the ladies crave for? No more vermillion red lips and blushes on the delicate faces of the dolls papa so lovingly buys me?? honestly the woolen/mohair holds up better when left in less than ideal storage situations for like 40 years lol. all my human hair girlies are shedding, but i've seen mohair wigs that stay together for decades. i keep most of my old ladies bald tho cuz its spooky and finding wigs is a hassle

Feral child in a floofy dress, what more could you ask for! Her eyes are so close together, she looks like a predatory animal, good for her second doll- This one is super cute! I love all the lacy layers to her dress and the little bonnet is adorable, would actually consider getting if I came across her in an antique store. That being said she also has the close together predator eyes and I'm not sure if she's possessed or not. Her rosy cheeks are super cute though Jumeau- Oooh red hair is a lot less common on dolls like this! There's a stigma around red hair = evil so not many dolls had it at the time since they wanted the dolls to look cute and innocent. I would instantly snatch this one if I ever came across her.
Perhaps one could slightly modify the lace on their doll using tea, or crushed berries, to add some - dare I say it? - colour to the dresses' accents. It might take away from the jaundiced complexion of the Simon & Halbig and return her to a more pallid complexion? And if one's maid is skilled with a needle, one could have extra trimmings added to a dress and improve the fashion? Perhaps even set a new trend? Bespoke dolls would be THE thing, would they not?

I'm so grateful I wasn't born in era of human hair, scary faces Victorian dolls. I was born in Soviet era (late 70th-80th) when dolls were made of colourful plastic and I am grateful for this as It was an interesting experience for sure. However I wish I would be a child now with all these amazing dolls available.
