The reason Tom looks so miserable is because he is. His mother Merope Gaunt (a witch) used a love potion on his father Tom Riddle (a muggle) to make him fall in love with her. After getting pregnant she decided to stop using the potion on Tom hoping that he truly loved her but of course he didn’t. So he left her while she was pregnant and she went to that orphanage to have the baby. She named him Tom Marvolo Riddle after his father and her father (Marvolo Gaunt) and she passed away after giving birth (I'm skimming over this, if you're interested there are tons of videos going over his backstory in more depth). But JK said that babies conceived under the influence of a love potion are incapable of feeling love. But what she really meant is that the whole love potion situation is symbolic of him coming from a loveless union. And since his mother died, he was raised in this orphanage without love and that's what made him into who he is. She said things would've been different for him if his mom survived and raised/loved him but sadly he didn’t get that. So young Tom looks miserable because he is since he is incapable of love considering he was never shown it.
Dumbledore also balmes himself for how Voldemort turned out. He was afraid of Tom and could sense some dark and distrubing energy from the moment he met him. However Dumbledore let his fear keep Tom at a distance thinking that maybe Hogwarts would become his home and he would make friends and maybe turn out good. He says himself that he should have cared for Tom and showed more of an interest in his life but he failed to do so and so Tom went his whole life never feeling love or friendship. This is why Dumbledore seems to care so much for Harry because he knows that Harry was being raised in an abusive and loveless home with the Dursleys and made sure that Harry would experience love and friendship.

You wanted to know more about Voldemort, there was a lot more in the book about his whole life and all the clues to other horcruxes with Dumbledore's theories about what they are. They use another method in the films you will see. They changed Draco's line to "he's going to kill me" in the movies (when he was talking to Dumbledore). In the books he mentions his family. I know it sounds silly, but to me, it shows something about the Malfoy family and Draco's character that shows his position in this situation. And Dumbledore even offers shelter to Draco and his family, in which he almost accepts, but if I'm not mistaken they were interrupted by death eaters, before he could respond. These series portayed wizardary world the best out of every other spell related media stuff. (I know my English is horrible,i hope you noticed my comment ofter a year:))
Tom Felton had so much more to give in the last half of the series (from 5-8). He was an amazing actor who portraid Draco amazingly, eventhough he never read the entire thing. I love the way the writers made Draco in the sixth one. They cut the massive speech out, which I think was the better choice. Because he wanted to be a Death Eater, but when he saw what it was actually like and about, he didn't want to, but if he just didn't do the task then he would've been killed and his family. Also, he didn't have anyone to turn to- unlike Sirius did. Draco didn't have any light friends and he was never rebellious against his father, because he always wanted to maks him proud. That and the love he has for his mother with the addition of his up-bringing (being taught that purebloods are better, the racist term of Mudblood, etc) were the reasons he didn't think turning to the light side was an option. Sirius however did. Firstly, he had a 'rebellious' Uncle, who was shown to have been thrown out the family in the fifth book and movie. Already, he would be questioning what he was being taught due to this, along with Adromena who would be a persuading factor. At Hogwarts, he was sorted into Gryffindor which is the oposite house to everyone in his family. Then, he becomes best friends with a pureblood James, half-blood (I think?) Peter and a Werewolf and Muggleborn Remus. The difference is, Sirius always had someone or something rebellious in his life, Draco had none of that. He had no siblings he felt that protection over when things got bad, he had nobody to turn to when he needed it most. There's also the fact that nobody on the light side likes him. The poster boy for light is his school rival! So why would he think or believe the light would accept him? Add when Harry cursed him for BREAKING DOWN in a bathroom proves just how black and white Harry's thinking is, therefore would be unable to see Draco does want to be on their side. Remus probably doesn't (never explicitly said) because of third year. Moody because of his father and all the Weasley's who don't know him. This is shown when Arthur compares him to Lucius when he and Harry are discussing the situation. To bring a point back, I'm going to the bathroom scene (movies, because I personally don't think the Cruciatus curse would've worked, because Draco wouldn't want to cause pain and/or have that much hatred inside him). Before the scene, Draco runs into Katie Bell who is talking with Harry. When the two lock eyes, Katie doesn't seem scared or afraid, but somewhere in the middle. Like it just hit her who it was. Draco started shaking, and he ran from the Great Hall, Harry in pursuit. He was questioning everything he had been taught, afraid that if he didn't finish the task he and his family would be killed, that he's feeling guilt for what happened When people say he bullied Harry, there relationship was called a *rivalry*. A rivalry means they both do and say hurtful things to each other. And Draco unknowingly started that rivalry at Madam Malkins from him talking from what his dad has always said. I'm not saying Draco's a bully, because he does bully Neville (and Luna I think? Don't quote me on it), but he doesn't to Harry. If you look, just before Bellatrix speaks, Draco’s lowering his wand. But when she does he has to higher it.
It doesn't explain it that well in the films, but here's a quick summary of the information we learn about voldemort from the half-blood prince book in case you're interested! His mother (Merope) came from an old wizarding family called the Gaunts. She was treated very poorly by her father (Marvolo) and brother (Morfin) (who she lived with). She was in love with a muggle (Tom), though because her family were pure-blood supremists, they hated it. She made a love potion and gave it to the muggle, they got married and she got pregnant (while Tom was still under the potion's influence). Eventually she stopped giving him the love potion and he left her. She went to an orphanage and gave birth there, but died not too long after (before she died, she insisted that the baby's name be Tom (after his father) and Marvolo (after her father) and then Riddle because that was his father's name. Tom/Voldemort grew up knowing virtually nothing about his parents but after finding out he had a magical parent after going to Hogwarts, he was sure that his father had to have been the wizard since his mother hadn't been able to survive. But then he found out that his mother was actually the magical one and his father the muggle. He then killed his father and grandparents (while still in school). He altered his uncle Morfin's memory so that Morfin believed he committed the crime and was then sent to Azkaban. He also started making Horcruxes when he was still in school, one of them being the ring (It was Marvolo, his grandfather on his mother's side's ring) He was also a really charming and smart boy and many teachers believed he would amount to great things, so he surprised them when he left Hogwarts and went to work in Borgin and Burke's, but it was a great way for him to find more valuable objects for Horcruxes. Last thing is that he kept asking for a job at Hogwarts, though Dumbledore would refuse to hire him. There are obviously some more details if you read the books, but I just thought I'd fill you in on some interesting information!!

Srry bad english- I cried so much when Dumbledore died in the book. By the way: they dont's show this in the movie, but in the books Harry developed a "relationship" with The Half Blood Prince ( he felt he had a connection with the Prince) and it was a shock to him that it was Snape. Love your content, can't wait the next video!
This film really needed harry defending the prince and simultaneously hating snape like he does in the book, makes it a lot more impactful when harry realises the person he's learnt the most from that year is the person that killed Dumbledore
I love your reactions because they’re genuine and emotional. I’ve seen people make a joke out of everything even the deaths. Kinda sad there’s only 2 more to go but soooo hyped for these reactions 😊
An interesting fact is that when Harry came down and saw the whole incident when Draco arrives he tends to raise his wand at him but at the same time Dumbledore was protecting him with his wand by leaving Harry immobile and this is exacly why Draco was able to disarm Dumbledore in that time otherwise he would fail miserably to disarm such a great headmaster
Oh my god, I cried again here... Dumbledore's death is always the most heart breaking for me, I still remember how much i cried when I first time saw the scene where Dumbledore dies, I thought that now what's gonna happen to Hogwarts without him and who's gonna be there for Harry now He was also a father figure to Harry and always used to guide him... other character's death also makes me sad but Dumbledore was really special for me since the first movie.

However, on her website, she states that Dumbledore was born in 1881, making him either 115 or 116 at the time of his death. (Rolling has stated on several occasions that she's bad at math and hasn't always been accurate with the dates or times she's used) that's why there's the statement in the movie about Dumbledore being around 150 years old.

Lilly, harry's mother wasn't a muggle, she was a muggle-born, that means her parents were muggles, but she was a witch, she attended Hogwarts together with Harry's dad James
Fun fact Voldemort, Snape, Dumbledore and Harry were all considered half-bloods Harry was born to a Muggle-born and pure-blood relationship so is still considered half-blood
Fun fact: In the book, it's revealed that there was a pureblood witch in Hogwarts named Ellen Prince. Ellen Prince is Snape's mom, and his father (Snape) was a muggle. Hence, he kinda gave himself an edgy nickname when he was in Hogwarts. xD He's half-blood (Additional fun fact: Harry is also a half-blood, since his mother was muggle-born like Hermione :)), and his mother's last name was Prince. :D

8:02 | Not the first, but a rare individual. Most known parselmouths as they are called, are descendants of Salazar Slytherin, one of the founders of Hogwarts. And since many dark wizards hail from the House of Slytherin in Hogwarts, it is often associated with a bad or at least questionable trait to have. Seemingly, it is hereditary, but one can learn it also, because we know Dumbledore was able to understand the language, and because of other examples I will not share in fear of spoiling it for you.
That isn’t something that is really explored in the HP films but is hinted heavily towards in the Fantastic Beasts films. In the books it also goes into far more details about what Dumbledore experiences with the poison for the locket and that is also connected but I will stop there on both as to make sure there are no spoilers. Enjoy Cody, plenty more of the Wizarding World awaits.
What Harry is attacked by in the cave are called inferius, they are dead bodies enchanted by a dark wizard. In the book there are also more memories of Voldemorts that Harry is shown where he learns if more horcruxes and finds out what they are (you'll see them in the next 2 movies) and how Voldemort got hold of them
I don't consider this a spoiler for the movie since it's not really clarified, but spoiler for books: Draco's situation is tougher/sadder in the books: Because Lucius failed to get the prophecy in Order of the Phoenix, Voldemort is punishing the Malfoy family by having Draco kill Dumbledore and threatening to kill his family if he doesn't. Meanwhile, Lucius is in prison, and Narcissa, knowing what will happen to her son if (aka when) he fails, asks Snape for help. *End book spoiler* In other news, your reaction totally made a boring day not boring. Although, my ears may or may not be ringing from your reaction to Dumbledore's death, lol.
Rob Knox, the actor who portrayed Marcus Belby (the fat guy in the dinner of The Slug Club) died at the age of 18 after he was stabbed outside the Metro Bar in Sidcup, South East London, on 24 May 2008. @@ItsTotallyCody yes, definitely. At least everything you can read in a book ;D But I think these scenes where they fake laugh together are just bad writing. So not Hermione's fault.
The woman on the magazine Dumbledore took is JK Rowling, author of the HP books. (P.S. Yes I know recent events and everything. Yes it upsets me too. Do not condone or agree with her awful opinions. Still an interesting Easter egg.)
I’m pretty sure it was in this book but I know it’s not mentioned in the next two movies so I’ll bring it up now but Tonks and lupine get in a relationship have a kid and name harry as The Godfather
Oh wow! I hadn't read all the books yet but that's so sweet! But now I'm curious, if Harry was the godfather of Tonks and Lupin's son, why didn't he show up at the end of the last movie? Wouldn't he be living with Harry and his family up until that point?
Never mind! I forgot that the end of the movie is 19 years after Voldemort's defeat. By that time, Lupin and Tonks' son would've already graduated from Hogwarts. And he probably moved out after graduating.
I need to turn the notifications for your channel on, no wonder that I missed the new video :/ I just started rereading half blood prince when I got the notification and I gotta say that the lack of the private lessons that Dumbledore was giving Harry this year in the book, where we learn about Voldemort's past and understand the details and circumstances of his actions, and also the undevelopment and painful awkwardness of Harry's relationship with Ginny in the movie makes me excited to dive deeper into the book. I don't know if somebody has already mentioned the story of Voldemort's mother in the comments, you can ask if not (us, fans usually comment that under reaction videos to the chamber of secrets), but he hated his father more than anything else, probably because first - he was a muggle, and second - he left pregnant Merope (Voldemort's mother) at the mercy of fate after the love potion stopped working. The reason why I'm saying this, is that Voldemort killed his father and made the ring that you saw has damaged Dumbledore's hand while trying to destroy it, into a horcrux using his soul shortly after talking with professor Horace Slughorn. Your reaction to Dumbledore's death kinda made me sobb. One more fun / devastating fact: Dumbledore was the only headmaster of Hogwarts buried directly on the school grounds, and even merpeople came to participate at the funeral. I'm sorry for always making my comments so long, I hope it doesn't offend you. I just really wish for you to dive into the franchise and understand details.
@@ItsTotallyCody by the way, I'm sorry to bother you again :D I just thought that you might really enjoy the first chapter of the Half Blood Prince. It's not meant negatively, and if I'm the only one noticing it then please disregard it... but I find it slightly difficult to hear your voice over the opening music. It immediately gets better once you jump into the reaction, but the music might be a tad loud imho. 3:09 you know Dumbledore would prefer magazines with guys on the cover, right? If that's what you're suggesting with what you said ^^ The lake in the cave is filled with Inferi. An inferius is a dead body bewitched to do a dark wizard's bidding. They can't die because they're already dead and have no choice but to do as they're told, but they fear light and warmth so fire scares them off. Bellatrix isn't supposed to have this big of a role in this movie. She shows up at Snape's place in the beginning but she isn't supposed to be seen for the rest of the time. In the books the Burrow never got burnt down, but they added it to the movie to give Bellatrix some more screentime. Not confirmed, but why else would they have done it if it wasn't supposed to happen... She also wasn't at Hogwarts with the rest of the Death Eaters. The Great Hall, along with other parts of the castle, got destroyed by a group of Death Eaters while they were fighting the Order of the Phoenix which were stationed at Hogwarts while Dumbledore was off to find the Horcrux. I'm not sure why they left this out of the movie, I expected it to be there because it would've made a great action scene, but sadly they just let Bellatrix rampage the Great Hall and leave it at that... Anyways, great reaction, can't wait for the rest ^^ strap yourself in, it's a wild ride.

Yann Dardanne WTH! Was she doing in the boy’s toilet?
@@ibrahimanjum6575 Talking with Draco, they got along.
Fawkes (the phoenix) left Hogwarts after Dumbledore's death..... grieving and singing all the time before leaving.
I love your reactions so much. Watching these remind me of the first time I saw these movies. The next two movies would completely blow you away
Can't wait!
If 5 is my favourite movie, 6 is my favourite book. Just wow!
This film really needed harry defending the prince and simultaneously hating snape like he does in the book, makes it a lot more impactful when harry realises the person he's learnt the most from that year is the person that killed Dumbledore
Yes same for me!
.
3:09 “why are you taking a magazine with a woman on, Dumbledore?” He is not into that sort of thing mate
Dumbledore is gay.
It’s literally canon
The woman on the magazine is actually JK Rowling!
Dumbledore's death is always the most heart breaking for me, I still remember how much i cried when I first time saw the scene where Dumbledore dies, I thought that now what's gonna happen to Hogwarts without him and who's gonna be there for Harry now
He was also a father figure to Harry and always used to guide him... other character's death also makes me sad but Dumbledore was really special for me since the first movie.
Voldemort Storm Cloud... that cracked me up. It's called the Dark Mark.
I don't know if you are gonna read this Cody, but I do really wanna say I love your content. You really remind me of how I felt when I first read and watched the movies, and it really puts a smile on my face. Thank you for the content, and keep up the great work :D
I see you! I appreciate you! Thanks for all the support!!
Omg you responded, thank you for making this content. I really appreciate it
Dumbledore: I do love knitting patterns!
Cody: Oh is that what it’s about?
Me: Given he’s into men I would believe Dumbledore is definitely taking it only for the knitting patterns
Dumbledore was 116 years old when he died💔
That’s older than Bilbo Baggins 😂
@@ItsTotallyCody Actually, Bilbo was 131 at the end of LotR.
@@ItsTotallyCody Rowling said in an interview that Dumbledore was about 150 years old.
15:45 Bloody hell! I think "you know who" is still there!
I had to keep that in the video lol thought it was ironic that happened right at that moment!
I was searching the comments to see if anyone mentioned it. So weird lol.
Love watching your reactions. As someone who read the books as they were coming out, the end of this movie still makes me tear up to this day
In book version when Dumbledore hide harry using his wand at that same time Dreco disarmed Dumbledore. For this Dreco able to disarmed the greatest wizard. ❤
"They are attacking the muggle world, can thay do that?"
They are evil, I dont think they care.
Lilly, harry's mother wasn't a muggle, she was a muggle-born, that means her parents were muggles, but she was a witch, she attended Hogwarts together with Harry's dad James
Omg ! I am so excited for this one 😭😭
Mee too! Have been waiting for ever!😍
Him: Really after all this time. Me: i rally want to make a joke but its spoilers
lmao it's gonna be a ride for the last 2 movies!
@Xander Haha, I was thinking the same thing🤣

always.
I can say it now, it's been 5 moths
FYI: Turn the brightness all the way up for The Deathly Hallows they are so dark in terms of color.
Fun fact
Voldemort, Snape, Dumbledore and Harry were all considered half-bloods
Harry was born to a Muggle-born and pure-blood relationship so is still considered half-blood
"Harry just losing everybody like this isn't fair!"
Yeah well...this is only the beginning.
Just now? I thought it started with Cedric already.
@@yanndardanne5599 at this point, we're counting heads right now
Fun fact: In the book, it's revealed that there was a pureblood witch in Hogwarts named Ellen Prince. :D
I set the Reminder on and waiting for this video.
Thank you!
Why it take so much time for the premiere of video.
Dilpreet Singh because I am in Germany and have to set it for the time that most of my Audience is on
Great reaction. I've seen this movie about 50 times and still cried.
Ugh it ripped my heart out watching Dumbledore die
As sad as Ace's death in One Piece.

RIP Dumbledore 😭😭
First day of school was today so this was great to watch to get my mind off things! Wish me luck this year! 🙃👍
Glad I could distract you and give you some good content to watch! Good luck with school!
You now know why Voldemort didn’t completely die when his killing curse rebounded on him when he tired to kill Harry as a baby.
I’ve never seen a more genuine reaction to Dumbledore’s death😢👍🏾
Ur really good to know the emotions of ppl
When i saw the death of Dumbledore in theatre i knew that was the moment my childhood ended.
My youngest greatniece kept begging me to tell her he wasn't really dead.
Great reaction to the movie. The movie makes everyone cry when they see it very first time.
I didnt cry but i might cry watching the Harry Potter movies again now that im older
i love how you can see your frame lowering down each cut until it fall lol
I don’t know what that means lol

I love the family ties. Bellatrix is Sirius’s cousin, and her sisters are Narcissa, the mother of Draco, and Andromeda, the mother of Tonks!
No worries about Dumbledore and that knitting magazine :D He's actually homosexual :)
Yay! Just like Me!! lol
@@ItsTotallyCody Do i see a ship? :D Codledore? xd
That isn’t something that is really explored in the HP films but is hinted heavily towards in the Fantastic Beasts films. In the books it also goes into far more details about what Dumbledore experiences with the poison for the locket and that is also connected but I will stop there on both as to make sure there are no spoilers. Enjoy Cody, plenty more of the Wizarding World awaits.
the way this movie makes me cry is different
The best react that I ever seen.
19:21 That's exactly how I reacted in theaters. Right before my mom put her hand over my mouth. 😅
What Harry is attacked by in the cave are called inferius, they are dead bodies enchanted by a dark wizard.
In the book there are also more memories of Voldemorts that Harry is shown where he learns if more horcruxes and finds out what they are (you'll see them in the next 2 movies) and how Voldemort got hold of them
I don't consider this a spoiler for the movie since it's not really clarified, but spoiler for books:
Draco's situation is tougher/sadder in the books: Because Lucius failed to get the prophecy in Order of the Phoenix, Voldemort is punishing the Malfoy family by having Draco kill Dumbledore and threatening to kill his family if he doesn't. Meanwhile, Lucius is in prison, and Narcissa, knowing what will happen to her son if (aka when) he fails, asks Snape for help.
*End book spoiler*
In other news, your reaction totally made a boring day not boring. Although, my ears may or may not be ringing from your reaction to Dumbledore's death, lol.
Lmao I’m sorry about that my mic is good at picking up my voice that I don’t know how to bring that volume down for it haha
"Perhaps there wont be any of those emotional kind of moments in this"

Amazing video reaction.
Thank you!
This is my favorite book. and movie I guess...just like the books so much more. altho this book series translated well to movie.
Dumbledore was born in 1881. Harry's sixth year began in 1996. So he was 115 years old at the time. And I can't imagine Hermione not knowing this ;D
Anyway isn't she supposed to know everything? haha
@@ItsTotallyCody yes, definitely. At least everything you can read in a book ;D But I think these scenes where they fake laugh together are just bad writing. So not Hermione's fault.
Resa The fun fact it wasn’t a scripted part in that scene
Why should she know his age?
I hardly knew the last names of my teachers

The woman on the magazine Dumbledore took is JK Rowling, author of the HP books. (P.S. Yes I know recent events and everything. Yes it upsets me too. Do not condone or agree with her awful opinions. Still an interesting Easter egg.)
7:21 Simus, after all this time? - Always

Deathly Hallows Part 1 Saturday!
"So maybe this one we won't have anymore emotion moments"
um... how do i put this
NO
I’m pretty sure it was in this book but I know it’s not mentioned in the next two movies so I’ll bring it up now but Tonks and lupine get in a relationship have a kid and name harry as The Godfather
And so it begins.
I need to turn the notifications for your channel on, no wonder that I missed the new video :/
I just started rereading half blood prince when I got the notification and I gotta say that the lack of the private lessons that Dumbledore was giving Harry this year in the book, where we learn about Voldemort's past and understand the details and circumstances of his actions, and also the undevelopment and painful awkwardness of Harry's relationship with Ginny in the movie makes me excited to dive deeper into the book.
Hey don't worry about long comments! I love having feedback and your support is always appreciated!
@@ItsTotallyCody I'm happy to hear that
@@ItsTotallyCody by the way, I'm sorry to bother you again :D
I just thought that you might really enjoy the first chapter of the Half Blood Prince. It tells a story of the muggle Prime Minister and his first involvement in the wizarding world matters, and it's probably one of my favourite chapters so far, it's a really fun story even if you're not interested in reading the whole book.
Bro love the reaction. I will subscribe for sure. Now I have to check out the rest. Wands Up.
Awesome thank you so much!
Dumbledore was 116 years old when he died and honestly his death was the most heartbreaking moment in the HP movies he was just great character and...well even a father figure for Harry
At 1930 Cody when reading the book watching the movie too but reading the book that's exactly my reaction I threw it across the room and was pissed

I reacted very similarly all those years ago. 😥 Then they went for Hagrid's hut and I was ready to lose it if they killed him too.
2 movies left, I can't wait
Can I make a slight remark to your introduction section of the videos? It's not meant negatively, and if I'm the only one noticing it then please disregard it... but I find it slightly difficult to hear your voice over the opening music. It immediately gets better once you jump into the reaction, but the music might be a tad loud imho.
3:09 you know Dumbledore would prefer magazines with guys on the cover, right? If that's what you're suggesting with what you said ^^
The lake in the cave is filled with Inferi.
I appreciate the feedback! I will adjust the audio from now on
