Michael Sweet is so inspirational, great Interview...I remember seeing Stryper in concert at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1988 ( I think), they were amazing...I saw them again in 2010 at the 02 academy in Islington...again they were fantastic...just read Honestly...I owe this band so much.
This guy and Stryper completely proved me wrong. Back in the 80’s I was a teen, and I thought Stryper was uncool and even “not able to play with rock attitude if you are Christian”. Man was I off the mark. Now I am a practicing Christian, and have massively improved as a musician leaving drugs and alcohol behind. I still get angry, and can play music with plenty of genuine angst. John 3:16. It’s the truth. Like Clapton’s song, I know I don’t belong in Heaven. Only by the grace of God do I have any chance.

Petra had amazing tone also, they used Zion guitars. Christian band but extremely hard rocking music and some progressive synth sounds.
