In this case, I'll have to agree. Thank Jesus for Michael Sweet.

Dude, even that direct signal sounds SO BEEFY. Thanks for doing this, btw. I love gear/rig rundowns and seeing how my favorite artists get their tone, pedals they use, etc. And extra cool that you're this accessible to your fans. Thanks for being rad, man.

Sounds great Michael! I have been a Stryper fan since about 1985 when I was 9 years old. I am planning to get the ISP MS edition Theta Pro very soon. You guys are #1 in my book but, not only because of your music but because of the message you bring to the listeners. I am a fellow Christian myself and I probably wouldn't be if it weren't for you guys. Keep up the stellar job you guys have always done! God bless you guys! Your reward will be great!

Michael´s tone is unique, he is an amazing player, his guitars have always appeal to me as the coolest. The new guitar I'd love to have one of those but again, listening and watching what he does with his guitar is so inspiring

    Michael,
I've always loved your guitar tone over anybody I have ever heard. Thanks for sharing the breakdown. One day I will have the same tone and love my own guitar sound. Your playing is amazing too. You're awesome Michael !!!

Glad to see you have your own signature series now, I always thought you had the best gutiar tone ever on your first 2 albums , and I saw you live on both those tour's . You're one of the most underated gutiar player's of all time, not to mention your singing and playing lead fill in lines at the same time. I'm a tone junkie too and I've always loved your tone and playing .

Wow! I love how you showed me your equipment! I even loved how you played the riffs of a couple of Stryper’s songs! And let me tell you this I’m a natural guitar player myself!

Thanks Michael for showing us around all your gear and stuff it's refreshing to see a professional just be one of the regular guys. I've been playing since 1972 I'm going to be buying signature ISP THETA pro yellow box is that their top-of-the-line systems? I'm impressed with this company because I grew up around Detroit I love quality built stuff and USA Manufacturing quality, so far I have not heard one bad comment about these things they are a solid five star review and as you know many of us are more impressed with the older analog warm sound rather than Shrill too clear a digital sometimes if you know what I mean. I just learned about these systems watching Ethan Brosh discussing the 80s metal machine hm Strat so I just ended up buying a vintage one that has some redoing.new frets etc on it. I am going to be getting into some guitar building in Luthering work this winter I sort of been doing that kind of stuff since the beginning and now I really know what the heck I'm doing .
I had a small Yamaha PA system with a Crown Power Amp and speakers but they got burned up in a house fire so this is going through a nice Kerry King like new Studio quality 100 watt Marshall stack. I like the idea of being able to just go directly into a amp or directly into PA system. That way if I'm playing at a friend's or something small I got a breakdown to just carry everything away in a nice case. I used to build cabinets for a while I had bought out a guy in Michigan that used to build for Yamaha so I like to have cases and stuff for everything so I can try to keep stuff like new. I heard that isp is going to be adding a USB port for firmware updates USB ports are easily damaged what they may want to do that guys like is if you can retrofit old gear or maybe they can just have an adapter to plug it into computer and then have software for the computer to update any firmware software versions etc. Just a suggestion to let them know it might not be as handy but it might be more heavy duty. I live in a high humidity area and if you're not using your USB ports they can get corroded up real easy. I've been looking at fractals and boss 1000 and helix works and everything but when I heard Isp Theta Pro I was like there's my sound, seems we both kind of like the same tone. Thanks for this video any other gear you recommend I should try with this. I may try to work with ISP because I don't think a lot of people know about them I used to having internet company so I'm pretty good at marketing stuff on the internet. I might ask Ethan if he wants me to help him Market some of his songs he's really got some top-notch melodic Tunes. I was really surprised that I hadn't heard of him before. ROB

I'm a HUGE Splawn fan....ever since I first heard a Quickrod. So, it's very cool to see him using them (and not surprising). This video is a bit old, so I wonder if he's still using them. The three hottest amps on the market IMO are the Splawn Quickrod, the SLO, and the Bogner Helios. Very cool video.

  • @davidbrucemusicvideo

I have seen a lot of gear egg videos, but I have to admit this one is probably the coolest one I've ever seen. Mike is doing the tour of the rig, not a guy from the guitar magazine with someone's tech, The tone sounds exactly like the stuff from the old albums in the 80s, that sounds amazing just using his iPhone microphone, but that's a given, the microphones and those phones are flawless, plus he's got a bunch of Splawns! I did not like the sound of the solid-state amp, not hi-fi, just like Mike said, but this was a great video! By the way, why not use the Splawns on stage, Mike? Those amps are top-notch!

Michael. I realize you and the band and crew are really busy, but I would love to see your setup when you play live. I've been a huge fan since the 80's and just dig your music. I'm an atheist too, but not like most leftists that traded god for government. Anyway I would love to see you and the other guitarists gear on stage and how you guys get that cool signature cocked wah like tone. Thanks so much for taking time to do these videos. Best regards from southern In.

No liberals I know believe that gov't is god. What we do know is that gov't can do some things better than private industry...like healthcare for instance. Every other 1st world nation in Asia and Europe has a nationalized health care system that is 1/4 the cost of ours with much better health outcomes and access for its population. You should study a bit more on what real progressive politics are and stop listening to FOX propaganda network.

Michael Sweet's incredible voice often overshadows his amazing guitar chops. It's a shame how unappreciated his playing is but I guess that's what happens when you have those pipes. No matter what gear he uses, his signature tone always comes through his fingers. After decades of playing with the equally impressive Oz Fox, you can hear how their styles have rubbed off on each other.

Cuz travelling with 100 watt heads and rows of 4x12's is expensive and a pain in the ass especially when you dont have too anymore. The digital and ss options are like 90% 95% there. You'd be amazed at how many of your fav bands do this now and just put up empty 4x12 cabs or just a backdrop for the look of it.

  • @MrUltraworld

If you're using Mesa Amps, why would you need a amp simulator? Just use an FX unit for modulation, delays, reverbs. This thing costs $1,300.00, has no USB, no IR's. Sounds pretty dated.

    • @davidbrucemusicvideo
      @davidbrucemusicvideo 7 лет назад +2

Fred Garvin, Exactly! He wants it to sound dated, because that is where their tone is, back in the 80s. They used to have to use Furman boxes with Mesa Boogie amps, so I love the way this unit gets the exact tone from the early days.
