Great video lads!! Love your passion and excitement. The drone shots on Skye and the POV shots on Uist were my favourite bits. What amazing places to fish. The trout aren't half stunning and a few proper chunkers in there too! Keep em coming!
Fished the Uists for 25 years, brown trout and sea-trout paradise, stayed on North Uists, but fished Benbecula and south Uist.best fishing of my life, the people were fantastic and wildlife was brilliant.
Great work boys, looks like a better session this time weather wise. Nice to see those wild trout and some of the epic scenery up in Skye and the Hebrides.
Nice video lads , I fished Skye and South Uist years ago and had a good time I now fish up in Caithness every year for two weeks and the class of trout is first class nothing better than watching some fly fishing at this moment in time, big thumbs up lads and tight lines for the future 👍✊🎣
another great video.....keep up the good work. quick question if you guys can help. I'm looking for a mono for building leaders I have read that Maxima UG is pretty effective but only goes up to 20lb (uk). can you let me know what material/make you guys use to build leader especially butt section?....thanks!
Thanks Iain - we tend to use maxima chameleon when building our leaders with a tippet section usually made from Rio fluroflex or power flex depending on the application. We were thinking about doing a video on leaders, do you think that would be helpful?
yeah mate, that would be really good. there are loads of videos regarding nymph leaders, big streamers etc but not much on small brown trout leaders for our streams and lochans...you know real trophy brown trout fly fishing 😁👍🏻
ps thanks for the original reply....I know it depends on to fly line, fly etc....but what weight maxima do you guys use most often for butt section....for like the fishing in this video!
We were using pre made Rio powerflex leaders in that video which were rated down to 3x (8lbs) only because the takes can be fairly hefty when pulling flies through the waves. Butt section was c.25lbs I’d say Normally we’d follow a 60% 20% 20% formula going from 20lbs/15lbs/12lbs then tippet of 4x Hope that helps you :)

Amazing place! We loved it, but didnt get to spend nearly enough time there. We'll just need to go back! 😋 Thanks for watching 👌
@@AnglingScotland went for 25 years and never fished half of the lochs, the sea-trout fishing in the seapools was fantastic.
Fantastic video as of the new season next year I am getting back into fishing.
Glad to hear it Graeme ;)
