- Levi Lavallee's Tri-5 is considered the "Most Fun Snowmobile Race Ever!" The points are made up and the finishing order doesn't matter, it's all about having the most fun! For our C&A Pro Ski team, we went with a pristine 1997 Polaris XC 600 triple! We switched off drivers between myself, Ryan Greenwaldt from C&A, Leah Bauer, a professional snowmobile racer, and David Fischer, also a professional snowmobile athlete. We had a few small breakdowns, and maybe one that wasn't so small, but ultimately we finished 3rd in the 'sprint' race, which was a 30 minute overall run. Unfortunately our big break happened during the longer enduro style race, but Levi himself was nice enough to offer us one of his sleds to finish off the run. I had some troubles with my personal flexibility the next day, but it was all in good fun!
Thanks to Luke Schultz Media for the edit and filming!
Hard to call them vintage or old school when they aren't even 30 years old. Bring out the late 70s 340s!
70's cars would be old school in 2000. So why is it different for these?
25 years is the technical classification for vintage fyi
Mrbrink101 I call people like you google cuz you think you know everything
@@richardmargeson70 Never proclaimed I did. A lot of the guys I ride including myself ride sleds from the mid to late 90s and we don't think of them as vintage. When I think of vintage, I think of the sleds from the 70s.
Who da thunk that 90s machines would be classified as vintage in my day the 50s sleds were vintage
I'm not very old but I feel the same way
Looks like you guys had a blast and that's awesome! On another note, as someone with a spinal cord injury, I thank you for helping to raise funds for SCI research!
There are still good people out there who still really want to help..I'd love to know you better that's only if you don't mind leaving me a reply
His pants😅😂! Gotta love it
Nice stash Zack , I’ve said for years if only you would grow a stash , Tom Selleck could come out of retirement to be your stunt double .
As an avid MF and BTR viewer from the Iron Range my disappointment in Zach for his pronunciation of Biwabik is immeasurable. However, I’ll still be here for the fun 😂 grew up on Giants Ridge and had such a blast there.
Gotta love those old Polaris machines!! Sweet sound! Good times!
Zach there is a trend with you breaking other peoples equipment when you’re riding/driving it?! Lol Gawwwwd! I had a 97 700 RMK with a 144 track and I also had a 600 triple that was a match to that white one and they’re so fricken loud with pipes on them haha. One of the reasons I started riding arctic cat was because there were too many times I had to ride out of the mountains on one ski because I broke a trailing arm or radius rod.
So what is Zack Johnson going to race next? I can’t decide if he looks like the cop from Reno 911 or the firefighter from Tacoma FD with the mustache.
My last sled was a 1999 XC 600, so when I saw your video title (vintage) and thumbnail, it got a little rise out of me. Then my wife reminded me that it was nearly 25 years ago! 😂
I honestly felt the same way, all those sleds were awesome!
My question, why was that one team wearing pajamas?!!!! LOL
How did you make out in the danger ranger? Are you going to post? I just saw a glimpse on Cletus. What a shit show!!!!
Looked like a bunch of fun. Some real nice older sleds there that can still go.
I rode for years but never got into racing. Know that fits you to a tee Zach.
Good event for a great cause.
Some real nice older sleds on the video. Just great.
Thanks Zach.
The Iowa Farm Boy.
An old old old sleder himself.
Bi-wah'-bick
Most american video ive seen in a while, the colorful clothes to the 90s mustaches haha
Did you finally hire a video guy? The style on this video is noticeably different. It’s good I like it. Editing just seems different. Camera work seems really sharp during the racing as well.
We did yea. Luke is going to help with some videos this summer. The weather at this race was really difficult for filming!
Hey Zach when are we going to get a video of onxy playing hockey
Summer is almost over t thought you had a busy season lined up did u get out of it
You ever race in Estevan Saskatchewan Canada
call the police. I see the guy on the wanted poster.
that is such the wrong sled for that....alot of fun
Makes me feel old that you’re calling them vintage 😂
Same here!
Now if you make the stache a handle bar, I'm all in.
I had a mustache just like that, when i was 15.
You call yourself a Minnesotan? It's pronounced Ba-Wa-Bik. 😁
Um , 97 XC is high tech compared to my 89 Indy 400.... Geez louise.
Born in 1970, my first sled was a 1979 John Deere Spitfire 340.
The ole 600 seems a little sluggish.
Did David Fischer try to convince you to come to grantsburg wi to watch grantsburg water cross?
Wish I woulda known you were coming I live 2 miles from giants ridge huge fan
You should come to Elk River next Jan. for the annual Ride In. We have a classic show as well as drag and loop racing. The travelling race teams come in from all over North America.
Zach were you going for the 80’s porn star look with the stache and shades, because if you were you f’ing nailed it.
Love the cinematic shots!
Watching this brings back memories of how terrible the ergonomics of those sleds were if you were over like 5'6"
Come back next year!!
BI WAAAA BIK THATS HOW YOU SAY IT
Bi-wa-bic is how you say it.
It's pronounced ba wa bik
I think you had piston or pistons issues. It looked like a blast .
Good show
Would love to thrash one of those, but we don't get any snow here 😢
Xc s
They either run great and go like hell or they don’t it’s literally one or the other
I love ‘em till they melt 😎
My guy is havein a rough go at anything that’s not a dirt track lol good to see ya back on a “race sled” tho
Guess your old when vintage is the sleds you were riding in highschool
The snow looks like it was pulling hard. Enjoy your videos.
That look like a lot of fun but cold third place with all the problems you guys had sweet
Greasy Wedge. Love it!!
Looks too warm for the old triple... a godd -20°F day it would of tore some shit up! Love them triples!
Was bogging badly,...my old Indy 500 would have driven around that 600. Ordinarily a 600 would blow my skags off.
Yeah, it was way too rich. The warm weather and water getting into the carbs wasn't helping 😂
You earned a thumbs up, as soon as I saw your teams pants.
Ha ha ha, I can't get over that Porn Star Tash 🤣
What a good time and for a good cause
I need those pants in my life right now!
Old snowmobiles bring back some great memories
looks like so much fun i always wanted do something like that
Mustache is on fleek!!
What a blast! My favorite outdoor winter sport!
Bee waa bik
Too cool hope to see some more of these!
Since when is 97 vintage
Hey Zach hope to see you in a late model
Save some 🐈 for the rest of us!
Nice pants Zach
hell YES that sure are!!
Love the Zubas
oh man this was awesome!
Reminds me of chasing Pumas catching up in the woods John Deer 500..a tank but slow.
When was this race ? I don’t live very far there .
Last weekend!
See if you can find an old "Eskimo" racing machine short narrow track, 1 humongous Piston . Expansion chamber, fins on the cylinder and head that took up most of the room under the hood Ying Ying Ying Ying Yang ...Yang .....Yang............ no top end hit the throttle and you're out in front of everybody instantly .!!! But I didn't do that much because I didn't know where all the barbed-wire fences were. That can mess you up.!!! I'm going to assume your mother got you addicted to excitement? Your dad seems pretty mellow? That assuming can get you in trouble! Maybe it was a sports coach.? In my case, it was handed down through the fathers generations until one of us broke the chain , 🥺and it still was too late. The process was, we used our quick wit, trying to get him to laugh.🤭😉🤪 If It didn't work, it was Duckin Run and hope he tripped, because if he cot you you're better off just standing there and taking it in the first place?🤨😒😢😩😫😖😩🤕👍🏻🥱😴🌝
Just send it! 🚀
That was cool!!
sadly , that power plant had a huge failure rate.
We'll rip it again next year and WIN IT ALL!!!
Love it !!
Never been on a snowmobile but they sure do look fun
They're a BLAST!
I don’t see any vintage sleds.
I would have to say anything with trailing arms or leaf springs are vintage sleds. 27 years old is certainly not late model
You need to bring a real sled next year 😊
There is no sled ever built that will beat a 1997 Polaris triple.
:)
BiWobBic
Are you going to do it next year?
I hope so!!
Where was this?
Giants Ridge ski resort, Minnesota
Loved it!!!
Lose the stash
No.
