Today in South Eastern Turkey, I met Sultan Kösen -- AKA THE WORLD'S TALLEST MAN!!!
I first heard about Sultan in 2009, when he was awarded a Guinness World Record title for his astounding height of 251 centimeters, or 8 feet 2 inches -- that's almost 3 feet taller than me!
Even though Sultan is a giant on the outside, I realized that he's incredibly gentle, warm, and friendly on the inside. We were all laughing for the 3 hours we spent together.
This was a very special video to make because Sultan invited us into his house, in a tiny village, where his parents (surprisingly) cooked us breakfast after the interview. It was an amazing experience, and quite an emotional morning after hearing about some of the struggles that Sultan has been through in his life (i.e. needing to get multiple surgeries to stop his growth)... But nowadays, he is as happy as can be!

Imagine if he had normal motor skills, like if only his legs could support his weight at that height it would be crazy really
At this extreme height, it's extremely rare to be fully mobile. Even for Sultan to walk as he does is quite impressive as many times these giants will be unable to stand.
Maybe the best example of a person being 8 ft or more and with normal motor skills is Bernard Coyne. He was roughly the same height as Sultan and had a normal walking gait and mobility.

@@randomplayer2387 Most people with gigantism doesn't live that long. Back then, the tallest recorded man in the world is Robert Wadlow. He was born in 1918 but he died in 1940 at just 22 years old, which is pretty young. But then again, back in Robert's day, there was no medicine to treat gigantism yet. Nowadays, it's a different story. But I'm sure many people with gigantism tend to live shorter still, sadly.

Thank you very much for the video! Sultan seems such a wonderful and down to earth man! Because of his extreme stature and the everyday challenges he encounters, it would be a fantastic gesture and a great way of caring if a house and a car was especially made for him, i.e a house with much more elevated ceilings and doorways, a car with more leg-room, etc. He would love that! This would be a great start to address the fundamental challenges for him. These are just my thoughts. Peace to him and his family! Such a great guy!

The Turkish people I’ve met have always been kind and welcoming. When I visited Istanbul I was amazed at how well the stray cats and animals were treated, which I believe says a lot about the morality of a culture. However, the Turkish people are not the issue it is their government.

In villages we can see true hospitality. Even though they don't have much, they want to treat you with whatever they can. In this world running towards modernization and sophistication, let us not forget what makes us humans ❤️
I’m from Fort Lauderdale, between West Palm & Miami, but moved 2.5 hours away to a semi-rural area several years ago, and although it’s nowhere near as exciting as my hometown, the people are ALL ‘pleasant’, everyone is courteous with everyone else. We don’t have the exponential population growth the metro area has, but, small minorities of Jews & Muslims also live here very peacefully and prosperously. Sadly, I don’t think I could ever move back to and live in my hometown after living away from the awful stress where everyone is packed so tightly together and it takes an hour to drive 15-20 miles.
There are just as many assholes in those villages, trust me. Although it's never really black and white, because those people from the village also go to the city from time to time and vice versa.
