- I was asked by some subscribers to try this Vester beef curry, so after routing round the shops and not being able to find one, I found one on Amazon however the cost was £5 which I thought was extortionate. Yes The paella one was the only Nice one all the rest was a bit nasty I think I’m going to have a look for the paella one because I have not had it in about 20 years

@@Stockybloke it's a version of dried beef lol. To be fair, I've always cooked the sauce mix for nearly twice the time the packet recommends.
I still like them, it reminds me of the 70s when there was no choice as far as shop bought curries are concerned 😄

I loved these in the '80s when they had sultanas in. Then they changed it to vegetables. I haven't had one for at least 20 years.

@@Stockybloke went for tea at my mates ,her mum gave us prawn curry ,omg ,it was awful like dried prawns ,i used to work first job in supermarket late 70s we sold thousands of them vesta meals ,think they were about 80p /£1,sure ive seen them in bm,they can shove them couldnt eat them now

I remember having one of these as a kid in the late seventies/early eighties. I remember liking it and it even had sultanas in it. I'm so sorry Greg that you had to put yourself through this for our benefit.. I'd be happy to drive up one weekend and buy you a meal by means of compensation.

I loved these in the early eighties Greg, it was my tea every Saturday night but they were much better than that mess. They had proper chunks of beef, the sauce was thick and tasteful but I wouldn't touch one now.

My mum used to buy these over forty years ago,they seemed ok, but few people had a proper curry back then.
They used to have sultanas in then Steve and it tasted quite nice proper meat. I think that where the picture on the packet comes from 40 years ago.🤣

I’m a little disappointed in you Greg. My Nan used to cook these for me many many years ago (before curries now) and I found them to be lovely. I wanted you to try the whole thing, sauce and rice to give your honest opinion but you only tried a small piece of meat. Not a true taste test in my opinion,

I'm disappointed in you Valerie. Greg is a decent guy, these curries are absolutely disgusting and vile. Just because you have low standards on the scale of taste doesn't mean Greg will make himself ill eating this rubbish. I'd not feed this to a dog. A good review and warns others who actually want something cheap and decent tasting not to buy these.

I’m talking over 50 years ago, long before we had curry takeaways and Indian restaurants and no, I haven’t had one since but I’m up to trying one just to see if they are the same.I am now 68 and am sure I’ve been on this planet long enough to have developed a better palette than most commenters here.
