I'm a 46S - Public Affairs, which in my opinion is the best MOS. Best thing is I get to experience nearly every MOS because my job is to document what they are doing either through photography, videography, writing, or graphics. I get to experience firsthand everything from riding tanks to helicopters without having to deal with typical army protocols that they have to do, formations for example.
In my first five months post-basic training, I've traveled extensively, from riding in Black Hawks to documenting Best Warrior competitions and exploring different regions within my state. It's been a fun experience, and I won't ever change my MOS.

2:10 keep in mind also that you have to reenlist in order to do this, and nowadays the window for reenlistment is 12 months away from your ets.
TIP: do not sign a long as contract for the bonus money. If that mos sucks you are stuck in it for that much longer and have to wait that much longer for your reenlistment window. If you sign a six year contract then you have to wait five years. If you sign a five year contract then you have to wait for four years.
So sign the shortest contract (three years).
Also, even then, i might be wrong, your mos has to be either "over strength" (the army considers your mos at the moment to have more than enough people) or "balanced" (just enough people) in order for you to reclass. If your mos is "under strength" (not enough people) then you probably wont be allowd to reenlist and reclass.

Brother. I'm worried for you. 46V has the worst training environment available for the 46 Series as an MOS-I. APAC Stu Co. is probably the worst fucking TRADOC command to exist. All the 46V had worse/more mental illnesses than their 46S and 46T counterparts. Learn to shitbag responsibly, I did that and I got to be mostly sane. I promise you, whatever bullshit they try teaching you back at the detachment (Your AIT will take place at Defense information school, but you will live at APAC Stu. Co.) is all fake. None of it is real or useful besides the Level 1 training exercises. Once you're out of the worst 8-16 months of your life (That wild range exists because Fort Meade and APAC has the worst paper pushes known in the Army and will fuck up your paper work before u even stepped foot in the recruiter's office) you'll have a similar lifestyle like 46S but with a focus on combat arms operations. You'll still get to go to your fancy hotel to edit videos tho. And you'll ride in choppers, speak to generals, commandants, foreign military personnel, pretty cool stuff. The Job IS WORTH IT but going in as an MOS-I is absolutely the fucking worst. Good luck buddy

Hey, I'm not him but I have recently passed (less than 2 years ago) Infantry Army OSUT. Biggest tips I can give you, whilst the limited time frame you have is:
      1. The drills, or for you RDCs, are not your friends; but also they're (hopefully) not toxic and if you ever have a personal issue that you think is too hard to go alone you can always go to them.
      2. Keep your head "down", and your ears constantly open.
      3. When I went I expected everyone to be as motivated as I was, but most were not, so for you don't ever expect that either. Once I got to my training company it was much different, but in reception everyone was a shit bag.
      4. Try to enjoy the little things, think positive, you might not like the pushups but you're getting a lot stronger that way anyway.
I can only give so much advice, enjoy your time and at the end of the day you'll figure it out either way, good luck and have fun brother

So like you said earlier and I tell everyone the same thing everything in the military is unit and leadership dependent. pick something that will set you up for a high paying job on the outside, preferably with a TS clearance especially IT work. It's also better to study up on the ASVAB and retake it to get the job you really want rather than just taking whatever they offer you and trying to reclass later. That's what I ended up doing to get 35F and now I'm making 120k. 35T would probably set you up to make the most amount of money on the ousid.

Each branch of the US military has GREAT jobs - speaking for the navy, if you're enlisting, I recommend the nuclear propulsion program. You need the academic chops, but if can meet the ASVAB requirements and you apply yourself, you'll have education and training (there's a difference) that will feed you and your family well for a lifetime. If you make it known and you prove that you WANT to succeed, the people around you will help you do so. I know first-hand.

Please inform me. I'm half Turkish, half Romanian. I was born in Turkey, where the Incirlik American base is located. The first friends I made in my childhood were Americans, not Turks. My father worked with the military during the Iraq war (he had a carpet and jewelry shop in Iraq, military base). I want to go to America and join the army, but I don't know how to come to America and join the army... Can I come through the work and travel program, change my visa and stay in the U.S? The information I was given by a friend is that visas are issued on an individual basis, so I don't think that the fact that my father worked with the military is an advantage for me. I am Turkish but I feel like a Christian American because I grew up in the U.S. military. Can you please inform me about this? At Incirlik chapel, I was christened with the name Alex.
