Nice build there, Kathy. It looks great, especially that flame maple body. See you on the next live video and also look forward to the other builds. I am also on a build of a Tele since I already have a Strat and a Les paul. This is my first build, and I am waiting on some parts. I would love to send you a picture when I am finished.
Awesome, you guys did it! I’ve been saying it would be a great idea to let Cathy do some of the work so the boys can see us gals can fix and make things as good or better. I’d argue we do it better because we read instructions and pay attention to details while most “man cave boys” stand there scratching at themselves pretending they’re experts and making those dings and mistakes on purpose! 😂 Way to show them boys, Cathy! 💁🏼♀️🪛🔧🔨🪚🎸🤘🏻❤️🔥 Btw, I had no power from Sunday night until sometime yesterday thanks to. 30 min storm that blew through. I’m really behind on my life, lol, but I saw I missed two streams. I’ll try to catch up on my RUclips life soon too, but I will go back and hit that like ASAP. 👍🏻😊
Waiting for the Headless kit. I bought one from Leo Jay-Z. Interested to see how yours comes out. Mine had no instructions. There are issues. If yours is like mine, watch it when yo mount the pickups. The screws will go through the c belly cut on the back. Also be careful with the headless bridge. One of the tuning pegs fell apart and will not go back together. Nice job on this one tho. And the instructions look top notch.
This was awesome. I’ve been looking at kits for a while and this was the most informative (and hilarious) video on a kit ever. Thanks for doing this video.
I've built and restored quite a few geetars, never a kit. I have watched many kit videos to prepare for one. I'm glad I have cuz there's a lot to know about kits. Pre-checking fit, alignment(with the 2 E strings) glue spots. LOTS!
I haven't gotten 2 seconds in yet. I assemble electronics for a living. Some complex stuff. I put guitars together and build my own pedals too. The majority of my training over the years, learning soldering, paint finishes, wire harnessing, coil winding, testing, and other skills were from women. Yeah, I think a girl can put a guitar kit together just as well as a guy. Like anyone, she may need a little guidance here or there if she hasn't done any research.
@@Bingopete71 Abigail Ybarra is famous for the pickups she has wound over the years at the Fender factory! Looks like Kathy may be following in her footsteps!
As a female, I appreciate that you’ve shared this. There are also lots of incredible females doing typical “male” dominated jobs. I’ve seen some incredible female mechanics out there, for instance. There are lots of men who can appreciate a woman’s capabilities. . . and then there are all the boneheaded boys who still won’t accept that women can do “man stuff” as good if not better . . . and do it while also managing a household and family at the same time. 😂👍🏻
You know, I was gonna say the same thing sort of lol.. I mean the original Gibson PAF pick up is one of the best pick ups you could buy and it was wound by a female! Her daughter does it now.. so yeah women can build a guitar lol
Nice job Cathy and Sean too with the camera 👍 Those 2 guitars on the wall at the end looking sweet.. I see an SG and not sure what the other is but loving it 🤘 Micalini and Willy welcome ✌️
Where can I get a Nut wrench like Kathy used ? She did a fantastic job on this build. Credit where Credit is Due Sean ! Looks like a pretty nice guitar over all. Waiting to see the next build ! BytheBy, Keep up the good work Lad !
Yes, ma'am. You better learn to run that camera more often, Sean. We'd like to see Cathy be the star of more episodes. Appreciate this y'all, makes me want to get one of these kits.
Great job Kathy! I'm loving that stain and you did a bangn' job on the assembly. I can't wait to hear the new pickups in it, especially if Kathy made them. ✌️💛🙏
I'm new... Glad I found your channel. Started playing way back in 1980, but just casually. My 17 year old son is learning to play as I type. I'm a tinkerer, and this kit looks PERFECT for it. I have an old 1988 Epiphone Strat that's showing its age...
Hey Michelini & Willie, The Warmest of Welcomes from The ScarredNation ! Cathy, You Go Girl ! Awesome Job Building That Guitar, Might Even Hit You Up for some Build Tips !! 😁 As Always Have a Great Night Sean, Cathy, & Everyone Scarred ...
I'm NEW, been watching for a couple weeks now and the more I watch the more I want to see. Haven't subbed yet though still feeling it out. God Bless You'll though.
I'm the crazy who rebuilt a Starcaster Strat into an extreme mod job. the 3 quad rail/coil humbuckers wired like a 50's Les Paul with coil splits adding a P/P in the bridge tone pot to activate the bridge and neck pick ups together regardless of other controls. .giving me all 3 pick ups together at wil. all pots are audio taper 500K pots keeping tyhe 5-way switchyes. this means 3 each vol. ant tone pots adorned with chrome knobs abd a chrom switch tip for the 5-way. all loaded in a custom hand mad extended brushed stainless steel pick guard which acts as both main ground through the control cases and output jack and shielding. wiring was detsilked and was quite the adventure. soldering all those connections. instead of the way to big wie traditionally used as Pick ups only produce mere Millivolts of currant. ai used small strsanded wire stripped out of a VGA cable both becvaus of the minimal currant and to savr space in the control cavity. remember 3 each vol. and tome pots and all that wiring to connect the pots with coil splits and the rest. the neck is graced with a titanium nut roller string tree and loocking tuners whilw the brides got a full size silid brass trem block and roller saddles. floated the bridge and the 9-46 strings tuned to E-Flat standard like any good Strat should be.. . paint goes with the space theme with a stars and planets motif done with spray cans and airbrushed details with the stainless pick guard andf the rest I have a real out or this world guitar that feels good, looks, sounds and plays great. . Oh yes strap locks to keep it securue while playing and a strin-swing hanger to keep it safe on the wall. like I said, an all out rebuild/mod to my specific designs and tastes. the ultimate Strat guitar build from the mind of this ADHD crazy with so much crammed in my head some leaks out from time to time usually through my mouth and fings and eventually into reality like My "Stellarcaster".. I learned many new skills in this build and will make the next guitar a little more simple like a classic style "Esquire" then perhasp tyhe SG and more. Bblding my collection by hand as I go. cheape to diy and have the results in hand when complete. like when I was a kid salvaging stereo consoles for somponents to build the system I wanted for next to nothing. usually a fuze or broken wire was the problem.. bulding cabs as needed for stereo and speakers.. Oh what fun I had there. 12 yrs old with a cool rack system i built from litersal scraps. picked up at curb side. bicycles were the same deal for me.. Oh did I mention that I'm now 65 AKA Gen-X helped my dad restoe a '62 Vette at 15 yrs old . and drag raced it too. sorry to many stories to tell ... LOL
I didn't know what to think about the Leo Jaymz stuff before, but between a couple of your builds and an interview I saw with the owner, I really dig the passion behind the company, and love the attention to detail in the freakin' INSTRUCTION MANUAL alone. Aside from the minor fret issues (which I've learned from you is easily remedied with a little sandpaper and a block---something I was terrified to try before), it seems like these kits would be a no-brainer for all level of builders. I know the OEM-grade parts/electronics aren't some folks' jam, but easy enough to swap out if one wants more frou-frou components. Very cool. Looking forward to grabbing one of the LJ kits for myself now.
Seems like there are four separate roles: instructor, camera holder, commentator and chief interference officer. You make a great pair Sean n Cathy and so do Cathy n Sean with flexibility over each An in-tune combination 4 sure
I just completed a Leo Jaymz Tele (Poplar Body) for my granddaughter. I’m really impressed with the quality of their kits. Sounded really good with our worship team this last Sunday! I’ll do a final overview and demo on my RUclips channel perhaps later this week or early next. I’m thinking about doing a set neck kit next (either LP or PRS). You didn’t show it but did you check out and do any adjustments on the neck angle before gluing it in?
I’d really like this particular kit but can’t seem to get it to the uk, it’s sold out anyway on the Leo Jaymz website.I know there’s other makers out there but I sure need those instruction manual pictures so I can learn a lifelong ambition to fit strap buttons all by myself 😂😂😂😂Great video Sean and Cathy I enjoyed ever minute !!!!
My personal opinion when the parts come boxed in individual boxes it’s a good kit. The last 3 I’ve bought 2 of them looked like my junk drawer when I opened them up 😂😂😂
Hey Sean! Wait there just a dang minute! 😉 You cut out the most important step when Cathy teaches you how to fit the strap buttons! Great video though and a nice guitar. Excited to hear the upgrades.
What? Is that set neck machined ‘dead-on’? Did you check the neck angle before gluing & clamping? 👍👍If no adjustment needed…that rewired with some full size pots & Kathy’s Scarred Hot-would humbuckers ort to be KILLER! Oh & some high ratio tuners of course. 👍👍
I’d like one of these to do a Marc Bolan replica but can’t get one (in uk) they are sold out on the website anyway .Great video , enjoyed every minute 🙏👍🎸🎸🎸
That is a nice Les Paul! I t has a nice sound. Sean can I. Send you my pickups and pay you to put them in there. I bet it has a 58-60 neck. I knew she would make the pickups the best. The color when my wife and granddaughter saw it and said it was like Greeny , Peter Greens and I can’t see to do it. I would love it!
I love watching you both work together and Kathy's comments are funny...Thank you both!
Good job Cathy! Now put some of YOUR pickups in it and make it scream!!!

Nicely done. Enjoy the back and forth banter. Good demonstration of the kit and build.
'bout dang time you let Kathy take the reins!

Nice job on this one tho. And the instructions look top notch.
I figured you would upgrade those pickups with some Scarred pickups. And now that I've seen the whole video, I know why you didn't. Well done.
Cathy did an awesome job on that build, and I can't wait to hear your original songs, Sean!!!
That book alone is a game changer for beginning guitar builders. Like how Buildyourownclone made guitar pedal building easy with their instructions.
The grain on that headstock is out of this world!
Beautiful job Kathy! That top color turned out great.
Good looking kit, I think the most impressive part is the manual It would be great for first-timers getting into guitar building.
Pro tip, use leather dye to stain guitar wood and tint clear lacquer for spray gun use.
I love that headstock blank. You can do anything with it.
Great job Cathy! Can't wait to hear this with the new pups.
Really nice job- both of you! You guys are great!
This was awesome. I’ve been looking at kits for a while and this was the most informative (and hilarious) video on a kit ever. Thanks for doing this video.
Best DIY manual ever and the guitar has good bones. Investing in better hardware is a no-brainer. Geez. Still can't get over that manual.
I concur, needs some Cathy Buckers! Great job Cathy!

Crazy to me some of the wiring has jst plugs like the ones I use for my rc car fans, sweet guitar build Cathy! Good job 👍🏽
Hopefully it's everything we need 😂 As if Sean can't build what he doesn't have!
Watching this and Trey is live today at the same time. This will be cool, Sean pushed out of the way for the new host! You go Cathy.

Cathy, build it...and they will strum 😊🎸
Use a soft block to sand , you be surprised 👍
Nice job. Looks great. It would have been nice if the fret work had been better. I wonder if the other kits will need the frets to be leveled.
Lovin the "instructional manual" ... very informational... :) ..
i would of put some shielding paint in the pickup and electronics cavities but thats just me lol
i appreciate all the work going into these -- 80 or more edits alone?!? thanks Sean and Cathy -- much looking-forward to the upgrade

Welcome guy's. Sean, Cathy's got it going on. Great job, Cathy.
So if someone says " you build guitars like a girl," it's a compliment.❤
Good job Cathy!! How much sanding did you do between coats and the grit you used? Nice video!
Dang Shawn you got some compilation. Kathy sure did a great job... awesome video
Go, Cathy!!! I love your videos, guys. Keep 'em comin'! ❤
Welcome guys
Love you guys (and gals!) Attention to Detail! 🎸👍🎵🎶🎵🎶😎
you guys crack me up. you 2 work well together on camera. What I am disappointed with is the missed jokes about the "screw bag" 🤣

Great video
yey! welcome to anyone playing guitars !
from St. Augustine
Cathy is going to get a whole different set of followers looking like that😂 👍
There you go!! ❤❤
Get it, Cathy!
I hate that it shows a round horn in the pictures, and you get a pointy one with the kit.
I love the way that top looks, was that all you did just mixing tounge oil and amber tint?
Yes and yes
