D1 is +1, db1+2 was a launcher and safer that db2. Df1+2,df1+2 was a combo. Flicker jabs couldn't be parried. 121alb2 could be low jab interrupted. Flicker 1f1 on crouch gave b1 for free. Ws4 launched on crouch, b2 punch Sasaki, dckf2 is NH launcher on bigs. Sway combos were there but harder. I made a video in the old days.
How about how underrated Anna is, why she's always been a dlc/unlock toon and been in ever Tekken in that manner. Her difference between Nina and similarities.
The biggest thing for me is his [1, 2, 1, 2] from the back, as it launches and virtually guarantees a death combo while being tournament legal because "it's not an infinite". Reaching the opponent's back with a well-placed sidewalk is rather common in T5.
T5.0 Steve's undoubtedly pretty broken, but my personal nominee for the most overtuned character of all time will always be T1 Armour King. Not only does he share King's notorious d/f+1 (a launcher _on block),_ he has the advantage over King of having an original WGF (a safe, fast true mid normal-hit launcher that works against crouching opponents). These two moves synergise to create a 50/50 of sorts, with the d/f+1 functioning in effect as an unseeable low normal-hit launcher (albeit with the twist that, if the opponent crouches and thereby neutralises the launching property of the 'low', then not only has Armour King risked nothing, but the opponent still takes damage). This is _the_ most broken 50/50 in Tekken history as far as I'm concerned (bear in mind that this was when Tekken was still a mostly 2D game, and, although backdashing covered tremendous distance, both WGF and d/f+1 boasted considerable reach).
Armor King did have competition with Heihachi in Tekken 1. Heihachi had standing Twin Pistons which was a 13f mid mid string which was a launcher which basically led to a TOD on hit. His standing Twin Pistons killed you on hit and on block, it was completely safe (it was -3 ish and had some pushback). Heihachi’s first jab was also +13 on hit, which meant that it could combo into Twin Pistons, effectively giving Heihachi a TOD off of a jab. He of course also had the mid, TOD, largely safe WGF. Heihachi’s hellsweep could deal over 50% damage on hit and on block, it was safe and it led to a string of mixups. His uf3,4 was unblockable (the second hit was) and his WR3 knocked down on hit and it was a TOD on block (since Heihachi was so + on block that he could land his launchers guaranteed). Both Heihachi and Armor King were ridiculous in Tekken 1 and the crown could go to either of them.
@david parry I think you are playing tekken for a long time.. and you really have a deep knowledge of the game...can you please share some info about non-famous characters from tekken 5 or 6 which were strong but not on the radar like anna ganryu etc from tekken 5 It would really help me to make videos on retro tekken games :)
You've forgotten one more important thing.: Steve's ,,While Rising 2,, aka ,,Right Uppercut,, is a launcher move on normal hit only if you punish a low-launcher attack after blocking. For example if you block Kazuya's ,,Hell Sweep,, and you quickly press ,,while rising 2,, then Steve hits Kazuya up in the air! 😊
Bro the amount of time i spent mashing 1 & 2 in sequence playing him in 5 you would have thought i was playing Eddy 🤣🤣🤣 this was well before i knew competitive tekken even existed
Nah. T1 had Armor King who was basically King (broken df1 and all) but he also had the Mishima wavedash which subsequently meant he had a WGF. WGF in Tekken 1 was a mid launcher which lead to a death combo on hit and it was safe on block against most of the cast. WGF also gave Armor King more combo damage than King, including off of a blocked df1. King didn’t have great launchers to threaten the opponent with but this was not a problem for Armor King due to WGF. You simply can’t argue King as the best character in T1 because Armor King is literally King but with more stuff, including a pretty powerful tool which fills a hole normal King has in his gameplan. Heihachi could also be argued as the best character in T1 but I mainly mentioned Armor King because he’s literally just King but better.

thanks a lot for the info bro^^
I think flicker jabs were unparriable only in t4
Steve not being turbo broken and top 5 in literally every single patch he is in
Challenge level: Impossible
Top 5 when optimized, broken in past games. Nerfed to death
Today, one of the lowest win rates.
It is possible it seems
Looking forward to seeing if you can talk about non-famous characters like bears, ganryu, anna or Eddy
can you please drop some info about them?
ANNA ANNA ANNA ANNA.

Who the hell looked at tekken 4 steve and thought "hey maybe we should buff this character"
xD
Tekken 5 DR Steve is the reason I still play Tekken to this day. Best character in the game hands down
tekken 5 dr steve was indeed fun to play
He was insane lmfao, actually gamebreaking in a game with already broken characters lol
haha yes

T5 Anna f,f+3,4,3~b3 was a crazy wall combo, but the Tread Water to JF unblockable was just insane if you could get it right
This version of Steve is a reminder that he’s also a Mishima.
seriously him having an easy to execute death "combo"/move is just insane lelz.

ah yes..I know but I forgot to mention it :(

can't say about ultra hard cuz jinpachi just uses that stomp that paralyzes you for like 5 seconds lol
Please upload tekken 8 videos

Lowest placement is A flat, TTT2
Imagine Tekken 5 Steve with Heat.

@@mwkan772 I'm struggling with this guy
@@ntokozonhlapho1052 indeed
How about TT2 P. Jack? He is much better than TT1 for sure
1:34
ws2 also launching crouchers, character is so broken you can't even list everything
true lol
Talk about t4 Steve
ok
I thought true ogre was the most op followed by t4 Jin
T1 King...? 😏
Not really
